Chapter 61 Chapter 61 "Let's talk."...
"Let's talk." Bai Tianming looked at Abel and said.
"What do you want to talk about?" Abel looked at him, his face calm, as if all the emotions that had been fluctuating before had dissipated completely, and asked as if he were a bystander.
Bai Tianming looked at Abel and felt that he might leave soon. There was no need to go inside, so he asked him to sit in the courtyard. He said, "You saw what happened just now. The demons were blocked outside by the temple. This isn't the first time. Can you give the temple an order to stop them from blocking the demons when they see them?"
Abel sat at the table, his eyes fixed on his tea, a thoughtful expression on his face. He smiled and replied, "Yes, but it wouldn't be good for the temple if it were done for no reason."
Bai Tianming asked tentatively, "How could it be for no reason? We've met before, so we're kind of acquainted, right? The demons just want to return to Hell, they don't want to disturb humans. When you were in the rift, you also let the things in the temple return. How could it be for no reason?"
Abel laughed, like a lemon drop dropped into a glass of water, sending bubbles flying. "We did have a connection in the past, but it was a long time ago. It's not appropriate to settle this now, is it?"
Bai Tianming raised his eyebrows slightly and did not believe what he said, but since he said so, there was no need for Bai Tianming to deliberately provoke him, which would make everyone embarrassed.
Therefore, Bai Tianming pondered for a moment and asked him, "What do you want to do?"
The smile on Abel's face gradually disappeared, returning to the gloomy expression he had when he first appeared. He looked expressionless and a little scary. He looked at Bai Tianming and said, "If you come with me to handle a temple business, I will immediately agree to your request."
When Bai Tianming heard this, he only needed to do one thing and immediately agreed: "It's a deal."
Abel opened the holy book he carried with him and announced to everyone in the temple, "From today on, if any demons are heading to Hell, they must not be stopped. All demon-hunting missions in the temple are suspended."
After he finished speaking, the other party immediately responded, indicating that they had received it. Abel looked up at Bai Tianming and asked him, "Is there anything else you want to add?"
Bai Tianming thought about it, wondering if this would affect anyone's normal life. He looked at Sada and asked, "If a demon who has committed a crime goes to Hell and tries to escape punishment, Hell should be able to arrest them, right? Or even deal with them directly?"
Sadah nodded: "Okay."
"That's all right," Bai Tianming thought for a moment and said to Sada, "You stay here to look after my flowers and yard for me. I'll be back when I'm done with my work. How about that?"
"Okay." Sada nodded.
Abel lowered his eyes and didn't even look at Sada, as if the demon didn't exist at all. He stared at the holy book in front of him, as if there were things in it that he didn't know. His face didn't change, but he was very focused and serious.
Bai Tianming stood up, looked at Abel and smiled, "Let's go?"
Abel stood up. Bai Tianming remembered something he hadn't told him, so he turned to look at Sada and said, "Remember to let the demons rest, then send Mo Rusheng to Hell, interrogate him, and send him back. Now that the Temple won't stop them, nothing should happen again."
Sadah nodded, stood up and asked, "Do you need me to take you there? Or should I go with you? I can leave a clone here to watch."
Bai Tianming shook his head: "It's just one thing. I'll be back soon. You don't have to go with me. Just wait here for me. If I need your help, I will find you."
Sadah was a little disappointed, but still nodded and said, "Okay."
Abel looked down at him expressionlessly, then slowly and silently withdrew his gaze and looked at Bai Tianming.
Bai Tianming asked Abel, "Should we go to your temple now, or go and deal with things directly?"
Abel looked at Bai Tianming and replied in an unexpectedly gentle voice, almost unlike any other voice he would have spoken. "Let's go back to the temple first."
Bai Tianming nodded. Abel's expression was unnatural for a moment, but he quickly adjusted himself. Abel took Bai Tianming back to the temple.
The temple was very busy now, and Abel had no time to pay attention to other people, so after returning to the temple, he took Bai Tianming directly to the hot spring pool.
Bai Tianming looked at the hot spring pool and stood beside it, feeling the mist. He blinked slowly, and the moist scent of the hot spring hit his face, which made him a little confused: "You brought me here, what do you want me to do?"
"Since we have to get down to business," Abel said calmly, taking off his coat while turning his back to Bai Tianming, without turning his head or changing his expression, "of course I should shower first."
"Where is that?" Bai Tianming asked him.
"Bathe, burn incense, and pray." Abel, wearing only an extremely loose white undershirt and taking off his shoes and socks, walked barefoot towards the hot spring pool. He passed by Bai Tianming with a slight smile on his lips. "The Black Goat Mother taught me this a long time ago."
He said this slowly, as if to show off but also as if to complain. Bai Tianming couldn't figure out what he meant, but it seemed to make sense, so he nodded and began to take off his clothes.
Bai Tianming changed into the white robe hanging nearby, took off his shoes, and walked step by step to the edge of the moist hot spring pool. He was a little hesitant, smelling the sulfur-scented water, and tentatively asked Abel, "I want to bathe too, right?"
Abel looked at him from the hot spring pool and smiled, "Yes. That's why I brought you here. Washing yourself clean will help you get things done more smoothly. It's just a good omen."
Abel paused, lowered his eyes, and whispered, "Besides that, it's always right to do things cleanly. Isn't that too much?"
Bai Tianming had already entered the hot spring pool. Hearing his weak voice, he moved a little closer to him. The water in the hot spring pool splashed for a while. After he finished speaking, he nodded and replied, "Not too much."
Abel's face turned red for no reason, as if he had suddenly become hot in the water. He turned around, took two big steps, and distanced himself from Bai Tianming. He no longer looked at Bai Tianming and did not speak.
Bai Tianming tilted his head and looked at him, feeling that he was a little strange. On a whim, he walked towards him and asked quietly, "Why is your face suddenly red?"
Abel turned around suddenly, and the water in the hot spring pool splashed twice, as if his heart suddenly beat twice in his chest. His face was even redder than before, but he stared straight at Bai Tianming and took a step forward. As if he couldn't bear it anymore, he gritted his teeth and said, "I think it's a bit hot in here, don't you think?"
Bai Tianming smiled. The temperature of the hot spring pool was indeed higher than that of the corridor, but they hadn't just come in, so Bai Tianming deliberately said, "I don't think so."
Abel took a deep breath, as if he was suppressing his anger, and as if he was controlling himself not to say something he shouldn't say. He was like a poisonous snake ready to strike, with the scales all over his body about to explode.
Bai Tianming looked at him silently. For some reason, he felt that he would not lose his temper, even though he looked like he would explode soon.
"Never mind," Abel said suddenly, closing his eyes. "I think that's enough for the bath. We should go take care of things now."
After he finished speaking, he opened his eyes, walked out of the hot spring pool, went into the room next door, and changed his clothes.
The water outlet on the wall next to it was still gurgling, and the hot spring pool water gurgled out from it, rolled around in the pool, sank to the outlet, and disappeared without a gurgling sound.
Bai Tianming walked out of the pool slowly. Abel in the room had already changed his clothes and opened the door. He was surprised to see Bai Tianming standing not far away.
"What are you doing standing here?" The redness on Abel's face had just faded a little, but now it was gradually rising again. He stood at the door of the room, subconsciously wanting to hide back. He paused, and asked hesitantly.
"The clothes I'm wearing are the ones I wore before I washed them," Bai Tianming spread out his hands with an innocent look on his face. "I don't have any changed clothes. I can't just wash them and not change them, right? Wouldn't that mean they've been washed in vain?"
Abel lowered his eyes, opened the door to the side room, and said to him, "There are spare changes of clothes in there. They are all one size fits all. You should be able to wear them. Go in. I'll wait for you to come out."
Bai Tianming went in and hung the wet white robe on the cream-brown tree branch hanger. Looking closely, he saw a wardrobe next to it. When he opened the wardrobe, he found a brand new, one-size-fits-all standard priest's uniform, a loose black robe and black trousers.
He opened the package and shook out the clothes, finding that he could fit them perfectly, so he pulled them off his head and put them on. He also found a pair of white socks and black flat sneakers at the bottom of the cupboard, and put them on as well.
When he opened the door and walked out, Abel was indeed waiting for him outside, but he had his back to the door, looking at the hot spring pool, as if thinking about something. When he heard the door open, he turned around to look.
Bai Tianming closed the door, took two steps forward, and said to Abel, "The clothes fit me very well, thank you."
Abel stared at Bai Tianming blankly for a long time before he came back to his senses. As if in a trance, he smiled, nodded, and replied in a gentle voice, "You're welcome."
He was silent for a moment, looked away, and then said, "I'll give you the things. Remember to take them with you when you leave. As for your original belongings, you can leave them here temporarily. The temple will be responsible for cleaning them up. When the task is completed, you can come back and get them."
"Okay." Bai Tianming nodded and withdrew his hand that was about to take the clothes, but suddenly felt that something seemed to flash in the shadow of the clothes.
He was a little confused and stunned for a moment, then lowered his head to check carefully. He didn't see anything, so he turned the clothes over, folded them up and piled them together.
Abel asked him, "What's going on?"
