Chapter 30

Chapter 30

For almost a whole day, the starship was constantly jumping in the wormhole. Except for the team members on duty in the cockpit, everyone else stayed in their rooms honestly, wearing seat belts at all times to maintain balance in the violent turbulence.

Lingyun stayed by the window of her room, observing the unfamiliar space outside.

When the starship was near the wormhole's entrance, the universe looked truly beautiful. Light from different stars, in various colors, twisted together by some mysterious force, spiraled and tangled, ultimately blending into a single white hue. Because the light from within the starship and from the universe refracted from different directions and orbital stations, Ling Yun's own shadow on the glass constantly overlapped and distorted.

This novel sight was wonderful, and it gave Lingyun a slight liking for space, but it was still far inferior to the dangers of the universe that the hummingbird had told him about before.

Before officially setting off, Ling Yun was more or less afraid of the universe and outer space, but when he really arrived in this vast and boundless space, he found that the place that people thought was dangerous and strange was nothing more than that.

As a kitten visiting outer space for the first time, Lingyun was not afraid. Instead, he showed a strong interest in the universe, which Yan Xuanjin had not expected.

When the Dark Blade arrived at the target planet, the frontline personnel were about to leave the starship and go to the surface of the planet to search for signs of Zerg. Yan Xuanjin originally planned to transfer Snow Cat to his side, fearing that he would be scared, and had already made preparations to return - but he did not expect that Snow Cat, wearing a portable mecha, would rush to the first place as soon as he landed on the ground.

The portable mecha has built-in communication channels, including group messaging and private chat channels, to prevent the situation where sound cannot be transmitted in certain extreme environments. Now it has become the fastest way for Yan Xuanjin to find Snow Cat.

"Don't be the first one to rush in. Let Cheetah go ahead of you. She has more experience and can handle emergencies quickly."

Yan Xuanjin's calm voice came from the speaker next to his ear, which gave Snow Cat a start - the Hummingbird course had not yet been completely concluded. Although the portable mecha had been explained, many small details that everyone was accustomed to had been omitted.

"Got it." Xuemao replied immediately, but he didn't know that his voice was not transmitted to Yan Xuanjin, but was captured by him through his lip movements.

"To chat in the channel, remember to double-tap the helmet with your pinky finger. This will activate the public channel." Yan Xuanjin kindly reminded him, "If you're chatting alone, you'll need to say your code name."

Snow Cat was stunned for a moment, then tapped his helmet in annoyance, read out Black Wolf's codename, and said, "Got it!"

Yan Xuanjin smiled and stopped chatting with Snow Cat. Instead, he opened the public channel and began assigning tasks: "Snow Cat, Cheetah, take charge of the North District. Mandarin Dog, Cunning Rabbit, take charge of the East District. Hummingbird, Puya, take charge of the South District. I'll go to the West District. Now, let's get started."

At the command, all seven pioneers moved towards the designated area.

Except for the eastern area which is a wasteland, the rest of the mission area is dense jungle. The trees block out the sun, and rich vines are entwined between the branches. The ground is also rich in vegetation and shrubs are everywhere.

"This kind of place is really suitable for the growth of Zerg." The cheetah narrowed his eyes, scanned the surrounding environment, released his mental power, and at the same time released the leopard that had long been tired of staying in the mental picture.

In the blink of an eye, the cheetah with beautiful stripes all over its body rushed into the bushes and disappeared.

Following the instructions from the hummingbird in his memory, Ling Yun also released his Guiding Element upon entering the jungle. With Guiding Element, the Sentinel's mental power would be able to cover a wider area while also reducing the Sentinel's physical exertion. Furthermore, with mental power, Guiding Element could also enhance sensitivity, making the Sentinel's perception of Guiding Element even more precise.

The sentinel's mental power and the guide's guiding energy intertwined, reaching deep into the jungle and scanning the surroundings with them as the center.

"Let's go, little cat. We'll explore as we go." The cheetah smiled at the snow cat and walked in front to lead the way.

Lingyun nodded and followed her, while always paying attention to the presence of anyone in the jungle who had touched his guide element.
