Chapter 49
Lingyun didn't sleep for long and woke up just before dawn in the early morning.
As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw a dark figure sitting by the bed, always watching me, and a pair of eyes glowing in the darkness.
Lingyun opened his mouth helplessly.
What he wanted to say was interrupted by the other party's sudden action.
Being hugged.
"Sorry..." The man's voice was hoarse and dry as if he hadn't been moistened by water for a long time.
Ling Yun never understood why things turned out this way. She only felt wronged and bitter about Yan Xuanjin's inexplicable behavior - but this was not the most important thing now.
He gently rested his forehead on Yan Xuanjin's shoulder to prevent him from noticing his frightened and nervous expression and his red eyes.
But Lingyun still underestimated the wolf's dynamic vision at night, and Yan Xuanjin keenly noticed that something was wrong with his condition.
He reached out and cupped Lingyun's face, their noses so close they were practically touching. Yan Xuanjin stared closely into Lingyun's eyes and asked, "What's wrong?"
Ling Yun stared at his moving lips and didn't dare to answer - the sharp sound in his ears masked his hearing, so that he didn't dare to answer, for fear that he would make some strange and unpleasant noises.
Yan Xuanjin asked again, but Lingyun just shook his head and still did not answer.
His expression suddenly became serious, and he wrote down his thoughts on the intelligent computer and showed it to him.
Ling Yun lowered his head and looked at the screen that was glowing in the dim room. There was a sentence on it - Can't you hear it?
Ling Yun suddenly became anxious. He widened his pair of blue eyes that were crystal clear in the light, and quickly and panickily grabbed Yan Xuanjin's sleeve, then anxiously snatched the intelligent computer from his hand.
Yan Xuanjin watched Ling Yun's actions silently, staring at his trembling hands as he typed. He reached out to gently wrap them, but was met with Ling Yun's hurried resistance.
He had no choice but to retract his action and silently stare at the frequently incorrect words on the screen.
I can't hear you, don't chase me away.
Eleven words and two punctuation marks.
Lingyun revised it over and over again, and it took almost a minute.
Yan Xuanjin's expression changed completely when he saw the last three words. He hugged Ling Yun tightly again, deeply regretting his decision - no matter whether the sentry really had feelings for Ling Yun, it was not Ling Yun's fault.
But he took out his anger on Lingyun.
He's such a jerk...
Yan Xuanjin used his hands to comfort Lingyun over and over again, stroking his slightly trembling back again and again, and his other hand typed on the screen, giving Lingyun a safe answer - I promise you, I will never abandon you, let alone drive you away.
Ling Yun stared at the words on the screen for a long time, trying hard to imagine Yan Xuanjin's voice, wanting to really hear the promise in person and treasure it in her heart.
Yan Xuanjin looked at this scene and felt extremely distressed.
He took out another intelligent computer and sent a message to Milu, asking him to come and take a look at Lingyun's ears.
The elk arrived soon, carrying an instrument that looked particularly heavy.
Yan Xuanjin then turned on the light, and the room became brighter.
Elk walked in and looked at the work table full of empty beer bottles. He paused and chose to put the instrument in his hand on the ground.
Lingyun followed the elk's gaze and saw the things on the table.
Perhaps because of the tinnitus, Ling Yun's five senses became much duller. He hugged Yan Xuanjin for so long that he didn't even smell the smell of alcohol on him.
Ling Yun was somewhat depressed, sitting blankly on the edge of the bed, letting Milu stick all kinds of objects to him.
Yan Xuanjin was equally embarrassed. He stood aside, waiting for the result with an expressionless face.
The instrument is very efficient and the inspection report comes out quickly.
Milu carefully read the data above, took out two small plasters from the box, and asked Yan Xuanjin to help stick them on the small hole behind Lingyun's ear.
"It's no big deal. As I said before, he's mentally stimulated. It's similar to the stress response of a kitten, but because he's a human now, his reaction has changed a little." The elk packed up his things and left in a hurry without disturbing the couple's life.
After Yan Xuanjin helped Lingyun to stick the stickers, he turned around and wanted to clean up the empty bottles on the table, but Lingyun grabbed the corner of his clothes and a virtual screen came in front of him - You can't drink so much alcohol, it's bad for your health.
Yan Xuanjin lowered his head and met Ling Yun's serious gaze.
Those gem-like blue eyes seemed to contain a vortex, which drew Yan Xuanjin's soul in, sealed it, and could never let it out.
He was like a cultist bewitched by the devil, willingly giving up everything he had.
Yan Xuanjin lowered his eyelashes to hide the emotions hidden in his yellow-green eyes, and asked pretentiously, "Can I kiss you?"
Ling Yun looked at the lip movements made by Yan Xuanjin and looked at him with confusion.
Knowing that he couldn't hear me, I took silence as a promise.
He was calculating in his mind and didn't give the other party any chance to refuse.
Yan Xuanjin held Ling Yun's face in his hands as if it were a treasure, lifted his chin, and touched the heart that beat for him with his hot lips.
