Finally, Carlos' body returned to its original size and he could no longer maintain his god-like state.
James had no expression on his face, he was still in that mysterious state. He stabbed out with his sword again. Although there was no unnecessary movement, the momentum in the sword swing made Carlos feel like he was facing a landslide or tsunami.
Cough cough cough.
At this critical moment, his throat became more and more itchy, and finally he let out a cough. The disease that had been suppressed in his divine state finally broke out.
puff!
Carlos' chest was pierced by the rune sword, and the longsword in his hand fell to the ground with a thud. He looked at the black knight opposite him with sorrow and sighed helplessly.
"As expected... it's still so... impressive... swordsmanship... I don't hate... you... my poor... brother..." His voice became weaker and weaker until it disappeared.
Although James successfully killed his opponent, he did not feel much excitement. He looked at the dead knight in white armor, but his heart was extremely empty, as if he had just done something wrong.
With Carlos' death in battle, the people in the village began to flee in all directions. Even the extremely powerful Carlos had fallen, and staying behind would only mean death. Countless people engraved the image of their former lord deeply into their hearts with eyes full of hatred or disgust.
James ignored the fleeing figures. He was confused and panicked, and then he touched his heart in his chest which had stopped beating.
Damn it, who is he? Why do I have such a strange feeling? I am obviously no longer a mortal, so what is going on with this palpitation?
He didn't have time to think before a blonde girl with red eyes was walking towards him against the fleeing crowd. He felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity from her, and then Jaime recognized her. The Lich King had once shown him an image of this girl and ordered him to kill her.
He stopped thinking about it and picked up his sword again. He started to face the girl and said coldly:
"I'm so sorry. I don't know why, but I usually don't like to hit women, especially a woman like you who likes to cry."
"Unfortunately, my master has ordered me to take your head and bring it to him."
"Don't worry, as a last act of mercy, you won't be in too much pain."
A trace of sadness flashed across Claudia's fair face, then disappeared. The girl's voice rang out:
"Just now, I finally understood that there are many things more important than life and death."
"If I die in your hands today, I will just regard it as fate."
Then a large amount of holy light power gathered around Claudia. A pair of huge golden wings slowly spread out behind her, shining brightly, like a goddess.
The girl's face no longer had any unnecessary expression as she spoke again, "You saved me in Northrend. Today, whether I return my life to you or finally purify you depends on what fate has in store."
Fate, that illusory thing? James couldn't help but want to laugh, but soon he couldn't laugh anymore.
The girl held a huge two-handed hammer in her right hand, and then the light on her body became brighter, and another pair of light wings appeared behind her. She raised her left hand and pointed at James from a distance.
"I hereby declare that you are guilty. Kneel down and repent, sinner!"
The next moment, he was in a trance, as if he was in a court, with countless innocent souls of those he had killed surrounding him and accusing him.
You guys are the ones accusing me? How ridiculous! What crime could I have committed?
When James came to his senses, Claudia was already very close to him. The blonde girl held the war hammer in her right hand and pointed her left hand at him again, saying softly: "The Holy Light is watching over the sins you have committed. You will face the judgment of justice."
A huge force of holy light condensed into the shape of a hammer, locked onto the Death Knight's head, and quickly fell from the sky.
Damn it! James moved his mind, and a green evil magic shield immediately protected him.
The golden Holy Light Hammer collided with the light green magic shield, and finally the light green magic shield shattered, and the golden shadow Holy Light Hammer also lost most of its power, only making the Death Knight's face slightly hot.
The blue flames in James's eyes suddenly shrank. How could this spell be so powerful? The anti-magic shield was a secret weapon developed by the master to counter the established mage armies on this continent, specifically designed to keep Death Knights close and slaughter mages. He had tested his own anti-magic shield's absorption capacity before. Even if he stood still and let the elite-level Hilgai of Filth attack him, it would take at least seven or eight instantaneous spells, or two or three powerful spells chanted with full force, to break it. How could it be shattered by a single wave of this fragile girl?
It seems that close combat is necessary, James secretly made up his mind.
However, Claudia had already approached the Death Knight first. She held the warhammer in both hands, and countless holy lights gathered on her weapon, smashing it down from the upper right. James, who had lost the initiative, could only raise his rune sword to block it.
The Death Knight took a step back, but he had already recovered his breath. Although the girl's strength was much greater than he had expected, she was still no match for him. Instead, it was the hammer. He looked at the Silver Hand with deep fear. The moment the weapons clashed, he faintly felt a painful groan from the rune sword in his hand, and a tiny crack appeared. The Death Knight had discovered that the weapon was not only incredibly hard, but also imbued with the power of light and order. If the battle continued like this for a while, his Sassanian longsword would be useless.
