Claudia asked for a large suite with two beds. Claudia and her sister would sleep in one bed, and Natalie would sleep in the other.
Because it was already evening when she settled down, Claudia did not go out, but took a good sleep to rest her tired body from the long journey.
The next morning, Claudia went out, while Patrice and Natalie planned to have a good time exploring Stormwind City. Claudia gave them some money, hoping that they could have a better time.
Claudia first arrived at the entrance of Stormwind Fortress, which was where the Stormwind Kingdom's palace was located. Two fully armed guards were staring at the approaching knight girl with vigilance.
Claudia changed into a blue and white women's outfit in the morning and tied her hair into a beautiful bun. She looked like a noble female warrior, beautiful and heroic.
But this did not make the guards let down their guard. They were the most elite troops in Stormwind and would not allow any unfamiliar faces to enter the palace.
The leading guard stepped forward and stopped Claudia. "Stop! This is the Imperial Palace. Outsiders are not allowed here. Civilian matters, please go to the City Hall. Noble matters, please go to the Parliament. Religious matters, please go to the Cathedral of Light."
Claudia frowned slightly. It was indeed a bit abrupt to come directly to the palace. She saluted the guard.
"I am an envoy from the north, sent by Highlord Mograine to see His Majesty Varian on important business."
The guard at the door looked at her curiously. The pretty girl's face was still a little childish. He didn't quite believe that this girl could be an envoy from the north. He looked around and lowered his voice:
"Listen, little noble girl from some unknown family, this is the imperial palace, not your home, not a place to play role-playing games, go home immediately."
"But I really am an envoy from the North." Claudia was a little amused.
The guard at the door still looked incredulous. "Well, little girl, even if you really are an envoy from the north, we can't let you in. Even envoys must first report to the State Affairs Hall next to the parliament and wait for an audience with His Majesty. That's the rule."
In desperation, Claudia had to leave the palace and go to the parliament first.
Although Stormwind already had a parliament at this time, all the members of the parliament were nobles and had nothing to do with the common people, so it was also called the Noble Parliament.
The Parliament and the State Hall are both located in the old town, on the same large square, facing each other, and are protected by high walls. There are also many guards at the door.
When Claudia arrived, she was still stopped at the door until she showed the baron seal of Lord Sepulcher. The guard at the door looked at it over and over again for a long time before she was allowed to enter.
"You said you are the northern envoy sent by Mograine? Do you have any proof?" Lord Alexandre Combray looked at the blonde girl opposite with some amusement. Since she could enter the building of the State Council, she must be the child of an aristocratic family. He just didn't know which child was so naughty that she actually thought of impersonating an envoy. Why didn't he try it when he was young?
Claudia was helpless. "I really am an envoy. Lord Mograine gave the instructions rather hastily, and there was no written letter or anything like that as evidence."
"Okay, okay, find a piece of paper and write down your purpose and identity. I will hand it in for you later. Remember to stamp it at the end." Lord Combray laughed perfunctorily.
Claudia used a quill pen to write her name on a piece of white paper, along with a request for King Varian's help, and finally solemnly stamped her baron mark on it.
Combray took it and looked at the seal in the lower right corner, frowning and saying, "You really are an envoy, and a noble from Lordaeron."
"Yes, I am Baron Thrabchel of Silverpine Forest."
"That's troublesome. Recently, many nobles from Lordaeron have applied to see His Majesty."
Lord Combray pointed to a pile of papers on the other side.
Claudia asked anxiously, "When can I expect an audience with His Majesty?"
"It's hard to say, but I suggest you don't get your hopes up too much. Viscount Arakkar of Lordaeron submitted his application two weeks ago, and he hasn't even met His Majesty yet."
"Is there any way to make this faster? Please, this is really important for me."
Lord Combray disagreed, saying, "Everyone comes here saying that their own business is the most urgent and important."
He looked at the anxious girl again and sighed, "I don't have a very good solution. It's not up to me to decide who His Majesty wants to see. But if you are someone sent by Lord Mograine, why don't you go to Archbishop Benedictus? His Majesty has always respected him."
Having said that, Claudia had no choice but to leave.
