Varian was clearly interested in the military. "You're saying that the Night Elf soldiers are generally female, and that their female soldiers can even surpass our male soldiers in combat effectiveness? That's hard to imagine. According to you, weren't the Kaldorei and Quedorei once the same race?"
Claudia nodded and said, "Yes, the priestess who took care of me said that the Quedorei were all exiles who were expelled because they did not abide by their tribe's teachings."
"That's a bit strange. I've visited Quel'Thalas before, and I was indeed impressed by the Quel'dorei's mages and rangers, but their warriors were really not to my liking."
"Actually, I'm quite surprised too. Although we were once the same race, night elves are generally much taller and stronger than high elves. Furthermore, it's said that night elves are blessed by the entire world, forever free from disease, aging, and death."
"Being forever away from disease, aging and death sounds fascinating." Varian said with longing. Among humans, except for mages, few people can have a long lifespan. It is difficult to imagine what endless life is like.
Claudia then showed Jaina and Varian the white holy light. The feeling of tranquility and peace was in stark contrast to the usual bright and blazing golden holy light, and amazed Jaina and Varian.
"But speaking of it, our holy light is more suitable for combat. I see that the priestesses don't use that kind of holy light when fighting. The power of the goddess they summon is more similar to arcane magic." Claudia concluded.
"Arcane?" Jaina became very interested, but Claudia didn't know much about arcane after all, and she couldn't lend the goddess' power to show her, so Jaina didn't understand what the power Claudia described was.
Finally, Claudia took out the letter tube Tyrande had given her before she left and said, "Your Majesty, this is a letter from the High Priest, the supreme ruler of the night elves."
Varian took the mailbox and took out a piece of emerald green paper that exuded a rich scent. On it was written in ancient Thalassian Tyrande's greetings to the Alliance leaders and her willingness to send an envoy to meet them.
Varian showed the letter to Jaina and quickly made a decision: "I'm very curious about this race that believes in the Holy Light and loves nature and life. Let's write back and ask them to send an envoy to meet us before we consider further cooperation."
Jaina nodded in agreement, and Varian then wrote his reply on the back of the emerald green paper, as Tyrande had requested. The young woman also corrected several of his phrasing that could easily cause diplomatic issues. For example, the phrase "The Eternal Sun is with us," a common honorific in High Elven tongue, was considered an insult to the Night Elves. It should have been changed to "Elune is with us."
After finishing writing, Varian, Jaina, and Claudia took the emerald green paper and approached a big tree. According to the method of reply required by the night elves, they placed the paper close to a big tree. The paper then turned into green light, rushed towards the tree, merged into one, and soon disappeared.
Seeing this scene, Jaina immediately became very interested in the natural magic of the night elves, and insisted on studying around the big tree for a while. Claudia, who had finished her business, walked to Varian and planned to ask about her sister. Looking at the king who was looking at her approaching, the blonde girl's heart suddenly beat rapidly, and her face turned red again.
"What's wrong?" Varian's voice was much softer than usual.
"Your Majesty, I heard that you summoned my sister?"
"Your sister, I remember now. She looks a lot like you. At that time, I heard from Mathias that your family only had one sister, so I wanted to summon her to give her some compensation."
"Does she know about my disappearance?" Claudia's heart was in suspense again.
"No, your affairs were still military secrets at the time, so I didn't tell her."
"That's great..." The blonde girl patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief. Then she remembered the compensation the king had just mentioned to Paltress. The girl raised her head and greeted the king with her azure eyes. She thanked him from the bottom of her heart, "Thank you, Your Majesty."
"You're welcome." Varian said as he stretched out his big hand towards the girl. The girl noticed Varian's hand reaching out, and her fair and delicate face immediately turned red and trembled, but she did not dodge in the end.
As Claudia looked nervous, the king simply patted her shoulder and said with a conviction of victory:
"Believe me, we will definitely win this battle and will definitely be able to return alive and reunite with our loved ones."
The king's voice carried a trustworthy power, and the girl nodded and said, "I believe you, Your Majesty!"
