More than a month later, Angele and the woman beside him settled down by the lake in the north, a place called Rock Lake by humans, with beautiful scenery.
Angele used the gold coins in his hand to exchange a lot of daily necessities with the surrounding dwarves. He did not live with the dwarves, but built a small house in the forest by the lake as a new home for him and the woman.
Fuck the orcs! Fuck Tyrosus! Fuck Lothar! Fuck the war!
Angelet had long put the war and the army behind him. He could never get over the fact that he was abandoned, so he simply lived in seclusion with the woman.
Anyway, I joined the army before in order to fight for a bright future and marry a beautiful wife. Now my woman is much more beautiful than those noble ladies, and she is also a priest who can use holy light. I will not work for a group of you who don't take ordinary soldiers seriously.
Angele thought so, and in addition to these thoughts, he had an additional worry. He felt that the woman's identity was not simple. Her delicate and smooth skin, stunning beauty, and the fact that she was a priest who could use holy light all indicated that this woman was likely an important person. If she returned to the human world, her family might get the news and find her. Although doing so would be a bit unfair to the woman, as long as he treated her well, it would be fine.
In Angele's opinion, this woman was very likely to have lost her memory. Not only was she extremely curious about everything around her, she couldn't even understand or speak the common language. Angele named her Fili.
Fili mostly stayed by his side, quietly watching him as he worked on his various tasks and helping him out whenever he asked. Over the past month, she had already learned to understand simple common language. When Angelet wasn't working, Fili would snuggle into his arms like a kitten, enjoying his affection and caress.
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, it has been almost two years. Feili is no different from a normal person, and the couple has two daughters.
Inside the wooden house, Fili held a one-year-old blonde girl in one hand, pointed at the girl's face with the other, and shouted excitedly:
"Angel, look at these eyebrows. Claudia's eyebrows are exactly the same as yours. She looks more like you."
"What's so good about being ugly like me? Girls should be pretty like you. Look how cute Paltress is."
Despite saying so, Angelet still laughed. Almost two years of happiness had already made him much more cheerful.
He took Claudia, who was biting her hand intently, from Fili's hands. He took the girl's hand out of her mouth and said, "Claudia, look at what you did to your hand. The teeth marks are so deep."
The girl who lost her toy started crying in dissatisfaction. Fili stuffed a wooden toy into her daughter's hand. The little girl stopped crying instantly and started playing with the new toy.
Angele said dissatisfiedly: "Look, how is she like me? I don't like to cry so much."
"Okay, okay, there's nothing wrong with girls crying." Fili patted Angele's shoulder and then said softly to the little girl:
"Claudia, when you grow up, you must protect your sister like your father protects your mother."
However, the little girl ignored her and continued playing with her toys.
Fili smiled and kissed the little girl's cheek, then picked up Paltress and rocked her gently while humming a song.
Looking at this scene, Angelet also laughed from the bottom of his heart. At this moment, he felt that he was the happiest man in the world.
A few days later, Angele was walking towards home carrying the corpse of a gray-spotted black bear on his back. Not far from home, his pupils suddenly shrank and he hid behind a big tree. A group of about ten orcs and ogres were walking towards the lake, led by two warlocks in black robes.
The orc's warg suddenly barked in the direction of Angele's cabin. The ogre in a black robe showed a cruel look on his face and strode towards Angele's cabin.
"Come on, come at me if you can, you beasts!"
Angele could no longer endure it. He stood out from behind the tree, drew his greatsword and roared at the team. The warlocks discovered his presence, and horrible whispers were heard. Spells flew towards him. Angele dodged two of them, but was still hit by a shadow arrow on his right arm. He endured the severe pain in his arm and ran backwards.
An orc warlock sneered and stopped his men who were about to chase Angele. He turned around and led the team towards the wooden house.
Faced with the warlocks' refusal to fall for their tricks, Angele, filled with shock and fury, gave up his flight and charged forward, sword drawn. He chopped off an orc's head with a single blow and blocked an ogre's axe. Then, the terrifying whispers echoed again. A curse struck him, and his body began to weaken. The ogre's vitality was tenacious, and Angele couldn't get past it to harm the warlocks. After just a few rounds, after he had severely injured the ogre with all his might, he completely lost his ability to resist.
The orc warlock did not kill him, but cast another curse on him from a distance, making it completely impossible for him to struggle. The orc warlock said a few words to the ogre magician beside him, and then the ogre magician laughed, pushed open the door and walked in.
The ogre's laughter stopped abruptly, and a white spear pierced through the ogre's mouth and penetrated the back of his head. Then the ogre was kicked heavily and Fili walked out with the white spear in her hand.
This was not the Fili he was familiar with. The woman in front of him had lightning in her eyes, and behind her was a pair of transparent white wings, and her whole body was emitting a dazzling light.
Fili leaped with light steps, nimbly avoiding the attacks of other warriors and the spells of the warlock, then appeared near Angele and stabbed down an orc warrior who was in charge of guarding Angele with a shot.
The remaining warriors gathered around them. Fili stopped retreating, her spear flashing with a swift movement. Her sharpshooting was concise and deadly, and two more orc warriors fell to the ground. The warlock, startled and enraged, muttered a spell, and the immense fel energy dyed him green. Fili paid no attention to him. She dodged the ogre's hammer, and then took an orc's axe blow to the waist. However, she seemed to feel no pain and stabbed the orc with a backhanded spear.
Fili's left waist was bleeding. She was the only one left standing. The ogre warrior and the warlock, who was chanting an incantation, were still standing. The ogre warrior smashed her down with his hammer again. Fili leaped high and stabbed the ogre's head with a spear. At this moment, the warlock's spell was finally ready. This time, his spell locked onto Angele and Fili at the same time. Two green arrows filled with fel energy rushed towards them.
