Chapter 57 The Final War

Chapter 57 The Final War

Chapter 57

57.1

When Prince Constance shouted, "Knights of Ravenmont, there's no need to hide anymore. Come out!"

A voice cut through the sky above the celebration square:

That's the sound of a feather arrow being fired!

A sky full of feather arrows fell towards the square. The white feather arrows landed on the stone bricks of the square and the stone steps of the high platform, and brushed against the gold-embroidered cloaks and sleeves of the nobles and fell to the ground.

Kaderinburg Square erupted in panic and chaos. Someone screamed, and the people in the square began to desperately squeeze.

Hesong called out amidst the confusion, "Oulidsi!"

Olidisi grabbed his arm, calmly half-bent over, and used her arm to create some space for herself: "Don't scream, don't push."

As she spoke, she raised her arms, bent her knees slightly, and took steady steps back to the side of the square, near the corner of Kaderinburg's wall, away from the panicked crowd.

He Song could only follow her actions, his voice trembling uncontrollably: "But, those bows and arrows..."

"Those are soft arrows, very light in force. They're not killing anyone," Euridsi said calmly. "Prince Constance and Duke Karagaran are still in the square, so those soft arrows won't kill anyone; they're just a cover."

He Song was startled. Suddenly, a roar sounded in the air above the square.

Hesong looked up subconsciously: Sure enough, under the cover of feather arrows in the sky, several black Pegasus suddenly swooped down towards the square!

Before the people in the square could react, Prince Constance had already jumped onto Pegasus and suddenly flew into the air above the square.

Hesong's pupils shrank slightly: "They are going to meet up with the Knights of Ravenmont!"

In the square, the crowd was still screaming in chaos, but Pegasus had already carried Prince Constance and Duke Karagaran out of the celebration square at a rapid speed!

Lady Agnes, Cecilia, Bertha, and Lady Agnes's sister, Countess Alice Felix and her two daughters, followed closely behind, two of them riding a Pegasus and roaring away.

The Pegasus rode through the chaos in the square, and under the cover of a cloud of soft-feathered arrows, it soared towards the horizon, flying accurately towards the northwest of the island.

That was the direction from which the Knights of Ravenmont launched their attack.

Pegasus picked up Prince Constance and the Caragaran family, "snatched" them from the celebration square, and reunited with the Knights of Ravenmont -

"Warriors of Ravenmont City," Duke Karagaran shouted, "King Lucinda is tyrannical and despotic. To consolidate her power, she has even framed the innocent Prince Constance and her own child! This is simply insane! We must kill the cruel King Lucinda, support the benevolent Prince Constance, save the Wanzeta Empire, and safeguard the well-being of the Void Continent!"

Duke Karagaran raised his arms and shouted, and the Knights of Ravenmont, led by the Karagaran family, also responded loudly:

"Kill Lucinda!"

"Support Her Highness Constance!"

"Save the Wanzeta Empire!"

"Save the Ethereal Continent!"

They have completely sounded the clarion call to rebel against King Lucinda and attack Castle Kaderin!

The nobles attending the ceremony in the square screamed and subconsciously squeezed together, trying to escape in all directions.

Oledsi and Hesong stood in a corner of the square, nearing the base of Kaderinburg's walls. Simon Karagaran had somehow followed them into hiding. Oledsi heard Simon beside him say in disbelief, "Kaderinburg is on the island of Ella... How could the Knights of Ravenmont appear out of nowhere? How, how is this possible?"

Olidisi understood what he meant:

Kaderinburg is located in the center of the island of Ella, separated from the northern and southern lands by the Little Sapphire Sea. It is a natural fortress that is difficult to attack.

The knights King Lucinda stationed on Ella were mostly from the Winged People and the Chimera Orc Knights, winged flyers capable of flight. Members of the royal family were equipped with Pegasus, allowing the knights to travel around Kaderin Castle.

The royal family travels by Pegasus, Winged People, and Flying Orcs, while other human guests need to cross the sea—

"The Knights of Ravenmont need to travel by ship and across the sea to reach Isla," Simon was extremely shocked. "With so many people, they will need a lot of ships. How could the royal flying patrol knights not have discovered their warships on the sea in advance?"

There were many people who shared the same shock and panic as Simon. Prince Constance, riding his Pegasus, had already left the archers of Kaderinburg. Euridice heard him laughing from afar:

"The goddess Tarasa of the ocean has blessed me. I am the king chosen by God!"

Oledsi's eyelashes trembled slightly, and he suddenly whispered, "It's the Moman mermaid."

Both Hesong and Simon turned their heads to look at her. Olidesi whispered, "Besides a few fishermen, the only people who still worship the goddess Talasa are the Moman Mermaids, who live in the sea. It's the mermaids' singing that's confusing and disrupting the patrol knights' vision."

Hesong was incredulous: "Disrupting the patrol knights' vision? How is that possible?"

"It's not impossible," said Oridesi. "The mermaid's chant is a kind of energy that can not only heal diseases, but also change the body structure of living beings... Our understanding of the mermaid's abilities is really very superficial."

The warships of the Knights of Ravenmont were sailing on the surface of the Little Sapphire Sea. Their presence should have been noticed by the towers of Ella Island and the patrol knights of Kaderinburg.

However, several Morman mermen were lurking beside the warship, and when the patrollers looked over, they quietly began their chant:

Those sounds were like the "sha, sha" sound of waves hitting the beach, low and slow, pushing the air and eyes in front of the patrolmen, slowly distorting their vision:

What they saw was endless sea water, and above the sea there was nothing.

All they heard was the sea breeze; no one heard the sound of the warships landing on the island of Ella.

Under the cover of the Morman mermaids in the sea, the armored knights landed on the island one by one, and before the celebration of Kaderinburg, they ambushed in the northwest direction of the square, waiting for the orders of Prince Constance and Duke Karagaran.

Prince Constance's laughter echoed from the distant sky. "A hundred years ago, we believed the Morman mermaids' chants could only be used to heal the body, and even enslaved them, making them servants of humanity. However, during the Opal Stone War, we discovered that the Morman mermaids' chants possessed a terrifying power that went far beyond physical healing."

Prince Constance said with a strange smile: "Such power is a gift from the goddess. The Morman mermaids with such power should have been the most noble rulers on the ethereal continent! However, the Morman mermaid king, Rokolan, is a dog of King Lucinda and has never led his people to glory and splendor!"

Prince Rochlan was shocked and angry: "I am your father, Constance!"

Prince Constance smiled sinisterly. "You are a dog of King Lucinda, but I have witnessed the supreme glory of the Morman Mermaids. They should have been the most distinguished nobles on the Ethereal Continent—with such outstanding bloodlines and abilities, they should have been the rulers of other races!"

Prince Rokolan was about to say something, but Queen Lucinda beside him raised her hand slightly:

Luo Kelan immediately shut his mouth.

As the celebration square was in chaos, the royal knights had already begun to take action:

Originally, the royal knights had surrounded the square for the celebration in order to try the assassins George Blier and Prince Richard. Standing on the dais, Queen Lucinda raised her hand and said, "No more words. Defend."

Prince Rokolan immediately let out a mermaid scream: "Defend!"

Almost at the same moment as the mermaid's scream was heard, the members of the Royal Knights surrounding the square turned around in unison and waved their swords and shields.

The clash of armor echoed, and the Centaur Knights' formation shifted in an instant. With the walls of Kadrin Castle as their backing, Centaur knights formed defensive formations on the remaining three sides of the square. The royal knights tightly protected Kadrin Castle, the celebration square, and the people within it.

The knights in the first row raised their shields and connected them tightly together; the knights in the second row held spears with the tips of their spears ready to attack from between their shields; and the knights in the third row stepped back a few steps and raised their crossbows.

Queen Lucinda raised her hand again: "Archer."

Prince Rokolan screamed, "Archers!"

On the walls of Kaderinburg, archers suddenly appeared from between the battlements.

They drew their bowstrings, ready to shoot.

Hesong's eyes widened in shock as he looked at the formation before him: "This... This is the defensive formation for the Castle War!"

Oledsi narrowed her eyes slightly. "King Lucinda ordered the knights to encircle the square, not only to 'confine' us, but also to protect us."

"No wonder," Simon muttered beside him, "No wonder the royal centaurs didn't wear swords at the celebration as usual, but instead raised spears... Spears are weapons used to prepare for battlefield formations."

Euridice whispered, "Queen Lucinda may not have anticipated the Knights of Ravenmont's boldness in crossing the sea to Kaderinburg, but her knights have experienced many battles and, under the Queen's command, are able to quickly form a formation to respond."

As she spoke, King Lucinda was already riding on the white Pegasus, rising into the air, the hem of her golden and white robe fluttering in the wind.

The king flew to the wall of Kaderin Castle, hovered slightly, turned sideways, and looked down at the entire Kaderin Square:

The celebration square is located on the west side of Kaderin Castle, and the east side of the square is adjacent to the west wall of Kaderin Castle; on the wall, the royal archers are ready to go, and the north, west and south sides of the square are also tightly surrounded by the Knights.

Based on the west wall of the castle, Kaderinburg made an absolute defense. Therefore, some people in the square had gradually calmed down from their initial panic.

Those with insight have already seen the situation of the confrontation between the two sides:

Prince Constance rode a black Pegasus, far out of the range of Kaderinburg's archers, and had obviously calculated Kaderinburg's fortifications carefully.

The knights of Ravenmont Castle, dressed in dark armor, followed Prince Constance and lined up far to the northwest of Kaderin Castle and Kaderin Square, preparing to attack.

Euridice heard Simon whisper, "This is a long-planned rebellion and power struggle... With Prince Rokolan protecting the Queen, they can't use assassins to kill her. They can only mobilize the Knights on a large scale and forcefully attack Kaderinburg to force her to hand over power to Prince Constance."

Simon could think of this, and so could the people in the square.

The air in the square was slightly stagnant, like the oppression before a storm, and everyone unconsciously slowed down their breathing.

Queen Lucinda stared at Constance, at her second child, and she said nothing.

She didn't ask him "why" nor did she advise him to "give up".

Similarly, Prince Constance did not speak when facing the Supreme Emperor of the Wanzeta Empire and his mother.

Prince Constance simply raised his arms high—

"Attack!" he said.
