Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Silence, utter silence.

Chen Xi's straightforward answer silenced all the royal heirs, even though they wanted to ask, "Are humans really that ferocious?"

However, under the cold gazes of all the intelligent beings around them, and under Chen Xi's pure black, seemingly innocent and harmless gaze, they were under immense pressure and no one dared to ask a question.

Only the royal heir who had asked the question earlier chuckled twice and said, "I... I just heard about it."

Chenxi didn't pay much attention to the royal heir's answer. She simply nodded and continued playing with the ear-fox tribe.

Watching Chen Xi, who was still engrossed in touching the tails and ears of the Earfox Clan, making the Earfox Clan's crown prince blush, the other races' heirs, apart from being constantly touched by Chen Xi, had no energy to pay attention to the other Earfox Clan crown princes. Although they didn't ask, they were all still pondering in their hearts, judging in their own way whether the information revealed by the Zhi Clan was true.

Are humans, a race they've never even heard of, really that terrifying?

However, although they didn't want to believe it, the results of their analysis based on the information they had just received were enough to send shivers down their spines.

Because they never knew that Chenxi was not a member of the Zhi Clan. After all, Chenxi looked so similar to the Zhi Clan, except that her eyes were black and she was not as cold as the Zhi Clan, and her emotions were more rich and varied. In other aspects, Chenxi was too similar to the Zhi Clan.

When they thought Chenxi was a Zhizu boy, they took it all for granted as they watched the Zhizu people serve Chenxi wholeheartedly and fulfill all his wishes. After all, privileged classes of any race are special and can enjoy the best of everything.

But now they have learned that Chenxi is not a member of the Zhi Clan. If they are not the same race, then why would the Zhi Clan unconditionally support and protect him and fulfill all his demands?

In the minds of the various races in the Star Beast Domain, there are only two ways to establish a connection between two races: domination and cooperation.

The fact that the Zhizu people unilaterally serve Chenxi and do everything they can to satisfy her clearly shows that they are not satisfied with equal cooperation. So the only possibility left is domination.

This terrifying speculation unsettled almost all the royal heirs. Could it be that behind the incredibly powerful, seemingly invincible, Chosen Race, there might be another, even more terrifying race—

—Human?

After all, humans are the most ferocious race. This statement was made by the Zhi Clan themselves. And only in this way can we explain why the Zhi Clan, which is so powerful, would go to such lengths to serve Chen Xi, who is clearly from another race.

For a moment, due to their own suspicions, the faces of the royal heirs turned pale. When they looked up at each other, they all saw the same look of surprise and uncertainty in each other's eyes.

As the associations grew increasingly terrifying and divergent, some of the royal heirs couldn't help but steal glances in Chen Xi's direction. Their gazes eventually settled on Chen Xi's black hair and eyes. In the past, Chen Xi's innocent and harmless demeanor had made them overlook many things, but now, looking at Chen Xi's black hair and eyes, they suddenly realized how pure yet evil that color truly was!

Chen Xi had no idea how much the royal heirs had imagined in their minds after he had only played with the Ear Fox Clan's crown prince for a short while. However, when he looked up again, he noticed that all the royal heirs present looked much more nervous.

The way she was both nervous and trying so hard to smile at him was extremely unnatural.

Chen Xi was bewildered. He didn't understand why, after he had already gotten along well with these intelligent races so many times and they hadn't seemed so tense before, their attitude had suddenly changed back.

What's more, they're even more nervous now than when they first met him.

Unable to figure it out, Chenxi tried to probe a bit, but couldn't get any information out of them, so she had to give up. Then, to lighten the mood, Chenxi casually started chatting with them about some topics.

Although the royal heirs were nervous, they answered Chen Xi's questions as always. After all, the cold gazes of the intelligent races watching from the side and the terrible truth they had just guessed made them dare not ignore Chen Xi's words. Sometimes, when they were too nervous to know what to say, they would just praise her as much as possible. Pleasant words can never go wrong, and this is a universal principle that applies to all races.

And now they happened to be talking about the garden's environment, so the royal heirs praised the garden and the entire floating island, saying it was the most perfect residence they had ever seen, and there would never be a more beautiful place in the world.

Of course, although it was flattery, the royal heirs spoke these words sincerely. After all, this garden building built on the floating island was indeed the most beautiful residence they had ever seen in their lives, far surpassing even the royal palaces of various races.

However, seeing everyone praising the rooftop garden, Chenxi nodded in agreement, but couldn't help but say, "It is indeed beautiful, but this is not my favorite place to stay. I didn't live here before."

As she spoke, Chenxi fiddled with a piece of equipment and, with the intention of sharing her beloved possession, said to them, "Let me show you where I lived before I came here."

As Chen Xi finished speaking, the holographic projection device in his hand projected a huge image, perfectly displaying the towering and menacing steel nest building in the garden.

In that instant, the originally beautiful garden seemed to be shrouded in the shadow of the massive building, adding a touch of terror and gloom.

Chen Xi stood in front of the incredibly sinister architectural projection, smiling as she said to them, "Look, I used to live here."
