Chapter 41

Chapter 41

After broadcasting the announcement several times, the Aztecs released a massive number of probes from their fleets stationed near each planet. Then, almost every planet with a Fox-eared race was visited by Aztecs who came down and took them away.

Faced with the intelligent race with their cold, dark red eyes, almost all the other races remained silent and hid to the side, not daring to make a move. They didn't care what the intelligent race wanted to do with the ear-fox race; as long as they weren't here to capture them, that was fine. The memory of the intelligent race coming to their planet to capture their prince was still fresh in their minds, and none of them wanted to be the second.

Thus, in this quiet period of time, almost all the Earfox slaves among the various races disappeared, and the massive transport ships in the Intelligence Clan's fleet were quickly filled one after another.

After the Probes had thoroughly explored the planets they were searching for and found nothing missing, the Eldar fleet set sail. Their next task was to transport all the Earfoxes, rescued from various races or during interstellar transport, to their designated settlement planets.

...

Li Nu was a slave born into the Ear Fox Clan of the Beast Clan. His parents were slaves, so he was a slave from birth. After he was able to walk, he would work with his parents every day from dawn until dark, when he would return to the animal pen to rest, exhausted. He did this every day.

Later, his parents had many more brothers and sisters, so he was sold by his master to another family of beastmen as a slave.

However, nothing changed for him. He still had to get up at dawn every day to do endless work, and only when it got dark would he drag his hungry and exhausted body back to the stable to rest. His life remained unchanged until his master bought a new slave.

The fox clan member named Lin Yin was the strangest fox clan member he had ever seen. He had a beautiful name, many habits that he didn't understand, was very clean, and sometimes even expressed his anger towards his master in private.

Later, he learned that Lin Yin was a member of the Ear Fox Clan from the Ear Fox Star.

"Eared Fox Star" was a completely unfamiliar term to the cat, but he was completely captivated by Lin Yin's description.

Earfox Star is their own planet, where they, the Earfox Clan, don't need to call others "masters"; they are masters themselves. On Earfox Star, the Earfox Clan doesn't live in the stables of pack animals; they can live in houses they build themselves, just like their Beast Clan masters. On Earfox Star, the Earfox Clan isn't driven by whips and fists to work constantly. The work they do on Earfox Star is all for themselves; they can grow their own food to eat, and if they want more food, they can grow more.

The Ear Fox Star described by Lin Yin is almost a dreamlike place for the Tanuki. Is there really such a wonderful place?

Although Earfox Star was a place that Tanuki had never even imagined before, after hearing about Earfox Star from Lin Yin, his originally gloomy world gained a splash of color. From then on, a dream was born in his little heart: that one day, he could also live on Earfox Star.

Lin Yin said that all the Ear Fox Clan members came from Ear Fox Star. He was captured from Ear Fox Star by slave traders, and the ancestors of Tanuki must have also been captured from Ear Fox Star by slave traders. Ear Fox Star is where they truly belong, and they will return one day.

Because of Lin Yin's words, from then on, no matter how hard or tiring life was, Li Nu tried his best to live. He carried that hope in his heart, thinking that one day he might also be able to see the Ear Fox Star.

But his hopes were quickly and cruelly shattered when Lin Yin accidentally broke some tools while working and was beaten to death by his enraged master.

When he saw Lin Yin's pale, cold body, Tanuki's hope was shattered. The cold reality once again jolted him awake from his dream.

Lin Yin, who told him about the wonderful Earfox Star, never returned to Earfox Star, and he will never have that day. His ultimate fate will either be like Lin Yin's, being beaten to death by his master for making a mistake, or he will die from exhaustion and illness like other Earfox slaves.

After burying Lin Yin's body, the cat never again harbored those unrealistic fantasies.

However, he still tried to live, even though living was painful, but he was more afraid of dying alone.

He drifted along in a daze for an unknown amount of time. One day, he heard a voice coming from the sky. The voice mentioned the Ear Fox Clan and said some things that he didn't quite understand.

He continued working without looking up, because if he stopped, his lazy master would surely whip him, and he might get injured or sick, and then he might not be able to hold on any longer.

As the sky was obscured by a shadow and a powerful sense of oppression emanated from him, he slowly looked up and saw two tall figures with cold, dark red eyes, dressed in silver clothes, staring at him expressionlessly.

Through the gap between the two figures, he saw his master hiding in the corner, seemingly trying to bury himself.

For some reason, seeing his usually tyrannical and arrogant master looking terrified and unable to utter a sound, he suddenly felt like laughing.

Then he was taken away by two tall figures with dark red eyes who suddenly appeared. He did not resist, and he knew that resistance was useless. Although he did not know who these two unfamiliar figures were or what race they were, just by looking at how his master of the Beast Clan did not dare to utter a sound, he knew that they must be extremely powerful beings.

He was taken away and imprisoned in a large place, where there were countless ear-foxes, and their numbers were constantly increasing. Looking at his fellow tribesmen, some in fear and some in silence, he quietly found a place to sit down. So be it, he thought. It didn't matter what those strange races with dark red eyes wanted to do to him or where they wanted to take him. Since it was unavoidable, it was better to end it like this.

Anyway, living was too tiring, and he had almost lived enough. He felt satisfied to be able to see the terrified look on the face of the Beast Clan master before he died.

Thinking this, the raccoon sat there quietly without moving until an unknown amount of time passed. Then, the enclosed space was opened again, and the tall figures with dark red eyes reappeared, leading them out of the space.

To their surprise, when they stepped out of that space, they found themselves surrounded by lush green grass, warm sunshine, and berry-laden plants, with the melodious chirping of birds filling the air. The beautiful scenery was so captivating that they couldn't help but feel relaxed and engrossed in it.

What surprised them even more was that when all the Earfox tribe members came out of that vast space, the voice that had traveled so far reappeared. The voice told them that from now on, this planet would be their Earfox tribe's use, and they could live freely here.

What does this mean?

They couldn't believe what they were hearing, but in their sight, the enormous thing they had come out of closed its exit again, then slowly rose into the air until it disappeared into the horizon.

Long after the colossal creature disappeared, bewildered and lost, they tentatively took their first steps on this land, and then, unable to contain their joy at the feeling of freedom, they burst into tears.

The fox spirit mingled among its kind who were tentatively taking steps, and before it knew it, tears were streaming down its face. It turned out that the Ear Fox Star really did exist.

...

...

The entire process of the Ear Fox Clan being rescued in an orderly manner and then settled on Ear Fox Star was broadcast live, allowing Chen Xi to watch it at any time. As Chen Xi watched the wounded Ear Fox Clan members cautiously taking tentative steps in their new home and then crying their eyes out, tears of emotion welled up in her eyes as well.

Jin Yi sat opposite Chen Xi, looking at Chen Xi's reddened eyes and the tears welling up in them. His brows furrowed slowly, and he said solemnly, "Are you going to cry?"

Chen Xi was a beat slow to react, and looked up at Jin Yi blankly.

However, before Chen Xi could actually cry, Jin Yi said even more solemnly, "If you really cry, I will make all these Ear Fox Clan members pay with your tears."

*Hiccup!* The tears in Chenxi's eyes vanished instantly in fright.
