Chapter 21
This devastating news came so suddenly, without any warning. The demands of the Grimaldi were so outrageous, not to mention that the people they were asking for were all such important figures, almost all of whom were already established heirs to the throne among their respective races.
If any other race dared to make such an impudent demand, it could almost immediately ignite a war between the two intelligent races. However, it was the intelligent race that made the demand, and they did so with their starship fleet, pointing their cannons at the royal palace. So for a moment, there was only silence, a deathly silence.
They knew that those cannons could easily destroy an entire royal complex, or even a city, and would deter all races from causing trouble, leaving the planet riddled with holes.
However, despite their silence, no one dared to act rashly. After all, handing over the next king of their race was a decision no one dared to make lightly, even with the cannons of the Intelligence Starships pointed directly at them.
Ultimately, in this stalemate, it was usually the person being demanded who would calmly walk out of the palace. After all, they knew they couldn't escape. The Aztecs had come with their starships to demand their people. What right did their race have to fight back against the Aztecs? Did they really want to watch their race be slaughtered by cannon fire and their planet be riddled with holes?
Moreover, even if you hide and don't go out, you might not be able to escape in the end.
Most of these people, chosen as heirs to their respective races, are intelligent and can certainly understand this problem. Since it's unavoidable, it's best to minimize the losses. Moreover, as royalty, they wouldn't want to die a gruesome death.
And so, these noble and courageous heirs of the royal family, even though they were not optimistic about their future, all tried their best to straighten their backs and, no matter how bad their faces looked, they were determined to show the spirit of royalty.
After these princes and princes left, faint sobs could be heard from the royal palaces. Some princes and princes were even followed by several figures. Some of these were loyal followers of their princes and princes, while others were inspired by the princes' courage to sacrifice themselves for their entire clan and followed them willingly. They did not know what their royal heirs would face, but they were willing to bear it with them. Even if they all eventually died, they still wanted to serve their princes and share their burdens before they died.
Unfortunately, none of those who wanted to follow succeeded. The spaceships that came down to pick them up only took away the royal heir they had designated; all the others were driven away and none were taken along.
And so, all these intelligent races could only watch helplessly as their royal heirs were led alone into that cold starship.
Suddenly, the faint crying grew louder.
Of course, not all royal heirs were so courageous and principled; there were one or two exceptions who were so terrified that they hid in the palace and dared not go out.
However, as light energy slowly gathered in front of the cannons of the Chilean starship, the royal heirs who had been hiding were arrested on the orders of the current king. They were then escorted by guards and taken directly to the outside of the palace, where they were handed over to the Chilean who came to receive them.
It's a very easy question to figure out whether one's own life and the life of the entire race are more important than that of an heir.
Once the Grim Reapers received the people they wanted, they kept their promise, lowered their cannons, and soon the vast fleet of starships disappeared without a trace.
But what remains is only sorrow and despair.
...
...
Chen Xi then opened the Star View Wall again, staring intently at a black vortex in front of her. The black vortex remained still in space, and the surrounding space seemed to be distorted and deformed.
That's right, it's a wormhole leading to outer space.
Even with the starship fleet moving at a snail's pace, they arrived at the wormhole that was already right next to the Sky Screen base very quickly.
Looking at the terrifying-looking wormhole, Chenxi felt a little nervous and subconsciously asked, "Won't it be dangerous to go through there?"
Jin Yi looked down at Chen Xi and comforted her, "Don't be afraid. This is a stable passage that we have mastered. We have been using it for thousands of years, and the technology for traversing wormholes is very mature. There will be no danger. If you are scared, you can go into the nutrient pod and sleep. That way you won't feel anything. When you wake up, we will be in the outer universe."
However, Chen Xi did not take Jin Yi's advice. Although he was terrified of the terrifying wormhole, his love for thrills made him want to know what it felt like to travel through a wormhole while fully conscious. So he moved a little closer to Jin Yi, raised one hand, loosely covered his eyes, and peeked out a pair of dark, bright eyes through his wide-open fingers, saying, "This will do."
Looking at Chen Xi's adorable appearance, Jin Yi couldn't help but smile. He then raised his hand and gently pulled Chen Xi, who was close to him, into his arms. He wrapped his arms around Chen Xi's waist, and his long, golden hair cascaded down, enveloping her. He said, "It's safer this way."
And so, the starship fleet finally approached the wormhole, while Chenxi, leaning against Jin Yi, maintained a look of both fear and curiosity, like watching a horror movie, and experienced the whole thing.
How to put it? It was very strange. For a moment, all the sounds around him seemed to disappear, as if he had fallen into an absolutely quiet environment. Everything around him seemed very close, yet also very far away. He didn't even know whether that period of time was short or long. He was just in a daze. When he came back to his senses, the black hole had already appeared behind their starship.
Chen Xi couldn't help but widen her eyes. Had she already transmigrated here?
In response to Chen Xi's question, Jin Yi nodded affirmatively.
Chen Xi couldn't help but look out of the Starry Sky Wall again, so the starry sky outside was now another universe?
This realization made Chenxi stare at the starry wall with great interest for a long time until she felt bored, at which point she gave up and continued to play with Xianxian.
Xianxian is a noble Persian cat. This breed of cat is delicate, difficult to raise, and extremely troublesome to care for, making it arguably the most difficult cat breed to serve.
However, Chenxi, as a pet owner who only plays and doesn't take care of the pets, has no pressure at all. He has an entire team of robot creatures that follow him around every day to serve him and handle all the daily chores, allowing him to enjoy all the fun of playing with his pets without having to bear any trouble. It's simply perfect.
Seeing Chen Xi having so much fun, Jin Yi couldn't help but gently stroke her soft black hair before saying, "We're about to head to Zui Meng Star. The scenery and environment there are beautiful. We'll stay there for a while, and you can explore to your heart's content. Your temporary residence, in the style of a sky garden, has already been built. If you'd like to visit any places in outer space, just let me know, and we'll make preparations in advance. We've also sent a starship to pick up any intelligent life forms from outer space you'd like to see. Once everyone is here, they'll all be brought over."
