Chapter 10 (9)

Chapter 10 (9)

Han Guang wants to have a flash marriage with Yu Rui.

He wasn't planning a big celebration, just a dinner with friends and family, and that was enough to put the matter to rest. However, after his near-death experience, he had very few friends left. His former enemies naturally ignored him, and those friends who hadn't become enemies had essentially become strangers. Therefore, most of the guests he invited were from Yu Rui's side.

Han Guang called his daughter Xiqian and asked her to return home. When Weng Yue learned of this, she was furious and, disregarding her dignity, immediately called Yu Rui. She couldn't blame her brother-in-law; scolding Yu Rui was no problem. The little girl had taken advantage of the situation.

Even Weng Yue looked down on Han Guang now. He had been cast down from Heaven and reborn. If he wanted to join the ranks of immortals again, he would have to cultivate all over again—whether there was still hope in this life was uncertain. Weng Yue was unwilling to support the elderly or alleviate poverty. But she wasn't happy with Yu Rui taking care of him and supporting him.

At this moment, she stood with her deceased sister again. Sisters fighting is fine, but foreign invasion is the worst kind of evil. On the phone, Weng Yue's saliva was spitting out from across the ocean. "I was wondering why you didn't leave! You thought you found a treasure, but you'll cry one day!"

The relationship has fallen out.

Yu Rui listened to whatever Weng Yue said, but remained silent. She was giving her old boss a break, and also giving Han Guang some face. She knew marrying Han Guang would be difficult, but the greater the difficulty, the more she persevered. She firmly believed Han Guang could make a comeback (even if it didn't matter). Besides, wasn't it precisely these difficulties that made her who she was? She wanted to be by his side in times of trouble. Before, he had been superior, but now, they were equals.

She treated him as an ordinary man, a child, and half an old man. Yu Qi was so shocked that her jaw almost dropped. She asked her sister, "Have you thought it through?"

Yu Rui said she'd thought it through. Yu Qi stuttered, "But..." She was marrying for love, and she also hoped her sister would marry for love, not marry an "old man." "Without love, this marriage...in the future..." Yu Qi hesitated.

Yu Rui sternly retorted, "Who told you that we have no love?"

Yu Qi shut up. No one could change her sister's decision. She could only wish her sister happiness.

Yu Shuang cheered for Rui's decision. She has always been rebellious and hates vulgarity the most. She believes that Rui's decision is a true realization of "artistic life".

Rui is an artist and should win the Best Actress award.

Yu Rui smiled and said modestly, "What kind of heroine is this? She just married an old man."

"If he were still the CEO, and still looked like that, could you marry him? Would you be willing to marry him?" Yu Shuang said excitedly, "What's the point then?"

"I'm getting married, not doing performance art."

"This is love. Let go of everything and think of nothing," Yu Shuang said, standing on the bed. "I'm about to cry. Rui, you're so great! So cute!"

Chun'er came over and asked, "Aunt Xiaorui, are you getting married?"

Yu Rui answered affirmatively.

Chun Er added, "My aunt also wants to get married."

Yu Shuang shouted: "Chun'er!"

Yu Rui turned around and asked about Shuang and Kang Long.

"Don't mention him to me." Yu Shuang has not yet recovered from the pain.

Yu Jia was skeptical about Yu Rui's "flash marriage." It wasn't that she didn't believe in Rui's love; objectively speaking, she thought it would be good for a girl like Rui to find a man who was older, more experienced, and more tolerant, who could handle her.

However, they got married so quickly when Han Guang was almost "defeated." She was worried that Rui would be implicated in the future. Yu Rui emphasized that the storm was over and that Han Guang was fine.

Yu Jia wanted to ask about her future life. Yu Rui saw what she was thinking and spoke before Jia Jie asked, "Life won't be a problem." Seeing Jia Jie hesitate, Rui said, "Let the child take its own course."

Yu Jia didn't know what to say next; it seemed Rui had already thought everything through. Yu Rui then asked Yu Jia if her sister-in-law had caused trouble again. Yu Jia explained that Sisi had intervened with her in-laws and the situation had been resolved.

"Only you can tolerate it." Yu Rui said angrily.

"It's all fate." Yu Jia sighed.

Yu Rui immediately said, "Didn't you hear what Dr. Kang said? 'One is fate, two is luck, three is feng shui, four is accumulating good deeds, and five is reading.' You've accumulated enough good deeds, so you should be happy."

Yu Jia played it off and said he was just making do.

"Someone needs to protect you." Yu Rui said seriously.

"I can do it myself."

"Did you see what Lao Bai meant?"

Yu Jia was shocked. She'd believed a relationship with Bai Yuankai was impossible. But how could Yu Rui know that? She'd been a bit jealous of Yu Jia in the past, having once been drawn to Bai herself. Now that she'd found happiness, she wished everyone else could too. She worried about Yu Jia's stubbornness.

Yu Rui laughed and said, "What's the big deal these days? I can find an older one, but you can't find a younger one? It's no big deal to break the rules."

Yu Jia was very sure, "It's impossible."

Yu Rui said frankly, "Sister, there are many things that I couldn't say in the past, but now I can tell you that Xiaobai has been in love with you for a long time." Yu Jia was surprised and raised her eyebrows, waiting for the next words. Yu Rui continued, "In the past, he invited Xiaojie to come because he was interested in her, but later he found out that it wasn't because he was obsessed with you, Sister Jia. Later, Xiaojie left and got married. Now, everyone is back to their own place." Yu Rui sighed, "In fact, I only realized recently that in many things, you should follow your heart. If you follow the rules of society and fit into that framework, you will be exhausted. Sister, haven't you been a good wife, mother, and daughter-in-law for so many years? What have you gained? Who said anything good about you? The most important thing in life is the process, and you have to be satisfied with yourself."

Yu Jia felt melancholy. She'd assumed Bai Yuankai's "confession" that day was a last-minute ploy, a whim. Digging deeper, it was only a recent event. She hadn't anticipated his intentions had been buried so long and deep. After Yu Meng's incident, Yuankai hadn't come over. After Lao Luan rescued Meng and they both reported their safety, Yu Jia called Yuankai to let him know. After all, he was so eager to help, so a word of thanks was all she needed.

There was no follow-up.

Yu Jia thought carefully about it. She and Bai Yuankai could be friends, even confidants, but she didn't want to go any further. It wasn't that he wasn't good or outstanding, but she was afraid of delaying him and ruining the good feelings between them.

Between men and women, it's often perfectly fine to start with emotion and stay within the bounds of propriety. It doesn't mean the moment love strikes, they must become husband and wife. Without distance, constantly observing each other like a microscope, the hazy, poetic quality is lost, and even the most beautiful things become less beautiful. She'd already been through the siege of marriage once, so why bother again?

Yu Jia smiled and changed the subject, asking Rui when the official ceremony would be held. Yu Rui said it would be soon and she would wait for the post. The only regret she had was that Sister Meng didn't seem to be able to come back for a while.

Her brother-in-law remarried. Weng Yue had intended to use her niece as a check on Yu Rui. As soon as the news arrived, Weng Yue unleashed a flurry of horror stories about stepmothers. But Xiqian was a master at assessing the situation.

Her father had been "taken down" and needed someone to take care of him. She didn't want to return to China anytime soon, and her aunt and uncle were unreliable. Having someone to look after her father was perfect. And honestly, of all the women around her father, Xi Qian disliked Yu Rui the least. Low-key, gentle, and possessing inner strength, their age difference was relatively close, making them compatible. And she offered such timely assistance, which made Xi Qian admire her even more. True love. Heartfelt. Rose and Jack's love in Titanic was just like that.

Therefore, when her father Han Guangyi announced his marriage, she even asked her friends in New York to help Yu Rui find wedding dresses. When Weng Yue learned that her niece had turned against him, she cried out in despair.

Her brother Weng Yang was very grateful and still did business in Zhejiang, where he was still the boss. Therefore, when Han Guang remarried, he specially gave her a big gift.

When his niece told tales, Weng Yue angrily scolded her brother, "Who are you venting your anger on? Who is your relative and who is your outsider?! You better figure it out!"

As Weng Yang rose in rank, his temper became apparent. He then said, "I, Weng Yang, travel the world, and I value loyalty above all else! Once brothers, always brothers!"

Weng Yue's eyes are green.

At the end of the "united front" campaign, Han Guang and Yu Rui were the popular choice. Weng Yue, as the representative of the groom's family, accepted the invitation and decided to attend the wedding. Mrs. Xin had already accepted, so how could she not be tactful? The storm had passed, and the Xin couple reappeared, still the center of the social scene. No matter how strong the wind or rain, they just had to hide.

Mrs. Xin asked Weng Yue how Yu Meng was doing recently.

Weng Yue said: "They are still fighting hard in Myanmar."

Mrs. Xin sighed, "What a fool!" She added, "Is it worth it? I'm so exhausted. Why can't I see through it?"

Weng Yue took the opportunity and said with a smile: "Men are used to it!"

Mrs. Xin smiled but said nothing, and that was the end of it.

To the sisters in the Women's Entrepreneurs Association, Weng Yue said that Rui got married because she was pregnant - a conspiracy on the woman's side, but unfortunately Han Guangguang was the only one who got married.

One of my friends said, "I'd marry him if you asked me to. Old Han is so charming!"

Weng Yue was anxious, "What's that smell? Stinky feet? It still smells!"

The sister answered directly: "Manly and domineering! Even if Xiang Yu was defeated, he was still Xiang Yu." When it came to the key point, Weng Yue felt melancholy again.

When it comes to love, the order of appearance is very important.

Preparations were in full swing. As a sign of respect, Yu Rui contacted Yu Meng and announced her intention to get married. Yu Meng offered her congratulations, but considering the timing, she realized she couldn't make it. She then asked about Old Han's well-being. She didn't mention Moon City. The wedding was imminent, and she didn't want to spoil the fun. Besides, it was pointless to bring it up with Old Han now.

He was like a tiger in trouble, and was dragged home by Yu Rui.

Haoyu and Zhengyu returned to China, with Yu Jia looking after them. Coincidentally, Sisi also returned, and the international students enjoyed a lively exchange. Xiqian was also in China. She and Haoyu had another falling out, and they were sparring.

She thinks Luan Haoyu is childish. She still prefers Bai Yuankai.

Besides, Xiqian was thinking ahead. With her father down, it was unclear whether he could recover. The family would have to rely on her for a comeback, so she had to be careful in choosing a partner. Therefore, she couldn't choose Haoyu.

Xi Qian is not naive.

Yu Meng hung up the phone and said to Luan Chengyun, "Xiao Rui is getting married."

"Really?" Luan said in a tone of disbelief.

"Follow Lao Han."

"Which old Han?"

"Han Guang."

"He's not in jail?"

"Out comes a naked ass pole."

"Great." Luan praised.

"What's great?" Yu Meng didn't understand.

"Xiao Rui is great."

"She's stupid."

"That's what love is."

"So corny," Yu Meng rolled her eyes at him, "You talk as if you know a lot about love."

"Let's not talk about love anymore, let's get to work," Luan Chengyun changed the subject. After surveying, Luan thought that since the fighting had reached this area, it might be appropriate to continue building the Moon there. Yu Meng, however, said that the invading forces were guerrillas, roaming the mountains. Even if they moved to another hilltop, there was no guarantee anyone would come. Furthermore, the government army was now in control of this area. Living here, the people were simple and orderly, so there was no need to worry about safety. Rebuilding on the original site would be safe and secure.

The most important thing is to prevent landslides during the rainy season. Obtaining the license wasn't easy, so how could we give up so easily? Lao Luan knew it would be difficult to convince Yu Meng, so he could only wait and see. However, Yu Meng now faced a problem: he couldn't contact Min Jianzhong. Without the financial backer, the project couldn't proceed without the funds.

However, every time Yu Meng complained for two days, the vice president from Min's office would contact her again and offer to release just the right amount of money to help with the immediate problem. Yu Meng understood Min's concerns. The project was so far away, with no initial results, that they lacked confidence. Yu Meng could only advise, "The results are coming soon, don't worry."

Standing on the high slope, Yu Meng and Luan Chengyun surveyed the entire Moon City project. The clouds hung low in the sky, signaling another rainy day. The rain in Myanmar is terrifying. When the rainy season arrives, it's as if the gods of thunder, rain, and wind are unleashing their might simultaneously. Rivers overflow, and the streets and alleys are flooded. Fortunately, the houses along the streets are propped up by stilts and massive pillars. Beneath them, fish, shrimp, snakes, turtles, leaves, flowers, jars, and pots drift with the current. Yu Meng worried that Moon City wouldn't survive the rainy season.
