Chapter 6 (4)
Weng Yue secured a prominent position in a civic organization. Yu Meng was gloomy, but she had to congratulate him outwardly. Weng Yue seized the opportunity to show off to his female compatriots. A man of finery never walks at night. What's the point of living? Glory!
If there's Yu, why not Liang? On this path, Weng Yue had a much longer start than her. But Yu Meng didn't lose confidence; the competition had only just begun. She desperately wanted to know the hidden hand behind Weng Yue. She researched. Some said it was Old Wang, who was fabricated by Jiang Han. Others said it was Wu, who owned Tianye Industry. Still others said she had built her business from scratch. Bullshit! According to Yu Meng, none of these claims were accurate. These individuals weren't powerful enough to help Weng Yue conquer new territories. Besides, starting from scratch was true. But it wasn't without the support of noble people either.
Needless to say, the noble man is a man.
Weng Yue once said, quite proudly, "I am the vine tied to Jia, in spring and autumn." The vine is her, and Jia is the tree. She still has someone to rely on. Just when she felt she had lost her clue, Yu Rui offered her a clue. At Jiajie's house, she heard Yu Rui answering the phone. She glanced at the screen and heard the voice—the voice coming through the receiver seemed a bit like Weng Yue. Was it Weng Yue? A few days later, Yu Meng asked Rui out. Upon asking, she learned that one of Yu Rui's current clients was Weng Yue. Specifically, they were borrowing clothes. Yu Meng knew all about this.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Yu Meng asked.
Yu Shuang explained, but couldn't explain their relationship clearly.
Yu Meng held Yu Rui's hand and said, "Rui, I am your sister. We are from the same place, the same surname, the same clan, and the same group. As long as I am here, you are here too. I will never harm you."
Yu Rui smiled and said, "I understand. Prosperity is shared by all; adversity is shared by all."
"She is your boss and I am your sister. Who is closer?"
Yu Rui smiled but said nothing.
"Do you know who is behind her?" Yu Meng asked directly.
Yu Rui wasn't sure. Yu Meng asked her to find out who she was close to and what activities she participated in. Yu Rui hesitated, unsure which side to take. It went without saying that Han Guang was behind Weng Yue. But she wasn't sure what their relationship was. They rarely met, yet Han Guang's presence was everywhere in Weng Yue's life. They even shared an assistant, Ye Cha.
"Chacha, I won't treat you unfairly." Yu Meng vowed. After returning home, Yu Rui thought again and again. She couldn't tell Yu Meng Han Guang's name directly. It was difficult to decide which side to stand on. Weng Yue was rich and powerful, with a deep foundation. Yu Meng was her elder sister for many years. Moreover, she had now hooked up with a talented person. With Sister Meng's methods, her future was promising.
Yu Rui could only vaguely hint at who the group did business with, and who Sister Weng's company collaborated with most. The clue was obvious. Yu Meng did a quick search. It was undoubtedly Han Guang. In fact, after she and Yu Rui parted ways, she remembered that the girl Weng had met in the United States during Spring Festival that year was also named Han.
Bastard! Han is helping her so much. What's so good about her? How much real substance does a face have? After figuring out Weng Yue's methods, Yu Meng became more certain that forcing good people to exert their strength was the right path.
After two requests, Liangcai finally invited the union's female president to dinner. Yu Meng wasn't in attendance; she was the person involved. Liangcai invited two friends to join him, a three-on-one meeting, to do her work.
Yu Meng waited anxiously in the car outside. It was almost ten o'clock when Liangcai came out of the restaurant and Yu Meng drove over. Liangcai got in the car. As they drove, Yu Meng asked about the situation. Liangcai said they should go a little further away. After driving around the ring road and finally finding an open space to park, Yu Meng, almost losing her patience, said, "Don't be so cautious. What's going on?"
"Neither yes nor no."
"She's the chairwoman and she has the final say. What's the point of not expressing her opinion?"
"Except for the ones who can't be moved, there are only two seats left. Three people are vying for them." Liang Cai analyzed, "She's in a dilemma. She doesn't want to offend anyone. She has to strike a balance. If nothing else, she can only compete fairly."
"Fair? It's all assigned, how can it be fair? It's just a buck-passing."
Liangcai opened the car window a little; he wanted to smoke. The Chairman couldn't stand the smell of cigarettes, so he held it in all night. "He's a veteran, and his position is basically set in stone. There's no way to change it."
Yu Meng continued, "Then there's one left."
Liangcai said, "Weng Yue is also vying for it."
Yu Meng couldn't believe her ears. "Weng Yue? She's vying for that position, too? Didn't she hold it for five years? And she's still not leaving?" Liang Cai asked. Leaving? She believed her succession was natural.
Damn! Insatiable! Insatiable! Insatiable greed! Didn't she just become vice chairman of another association? How much control does she have?! And Weng Yue knew about Yu Mengxuan's election for the federation, but she kept quiet. Now, she's secretly making moves behind her back.
No! Either you die or I live!
"Han Guang." Yu Meng was stunned. "He's doing it."
She admired Han Guang even more. He was so devoted to Weng Yue! Such genuine love! Therefore, she also had to seek good talents. This was not just a fight for a position, but also a test of love.
Zu Liangcai smiled. He knew about Weng Yue's relationship with Han Guang, but because they were Yu Meng's friends, he didn't mention it, fearing it might be sensitive. He was never a talkative person.
"It's been a long-standing relationship," he said.
"You know?"
"I heard a little."
"Then you don't say it."
"That's nothing."
"Nothing? It's important!"
"They said we knew each other since childhood."
"Oh my! Childhood sweethearts." Yu Meng said, "If she didn't marry him, wouldn't she marry someone else anyway?" Yu Meng raised a finger and said, "I know, the old love has rekindled."
"Outside, she is a big woman, but in front of him, she is a small woman."
"There's also this situation."
"At the wine table, whenever Han is there, Weng will always replace the wine with water."
Yu Meng snorted, "Pretend! Han is not here."
"No," Liangcai also laughed, as if he found it funny, "drink from the big pot."
The two of them burst into laughter. They were both amused by the word "Dahu". After laughing, Yu Meng suddenly said seriously, "Do you love me?"
This question came out of nowhere and was completely dangerous. Saying love immediately made demands, and saying no love was absolutely unacceptable.
"You already know, why are you asking?" Liangcai has experience. A feint.
"Answer directly."
"Love." It was vague, like swallowing a fly.
"If you love me, then take me. We can't lose this battle!" Yu Meng's expression was solemn, as if she were running for president. Liang Cai wanted to say he'd tried his best, but in order not to excite Yu Meng, he kept silent. He wanted to get a good night's sleep tonight.
Everything was silent, and everything was running smoothly again. Yu Meng and Weng Yue were both there for the women's business meeting. They were still smiling, neither of them mentioning anything. Once the meeting was over, they sat at opposite ends of the sofa. Not involved.
Everyone knew it. However, Yu Meng thought Liangcai's reminder was timely; how could she have forgotten the Xin family connection? If Mrs. Xin was willing to help, even if it cost a little more, it would be a relief to gain face and fame. But after several attempts, Mrs. Xin said she was out of town. Yu Meng had no choice but to shamelessly make another appointment. Mrs. Xin couldn't afford to lose face, so Yu Meng finally got to see the real Buddha. She didn't hide her feelings and directly made her request.
Mrs. Xin was embarrassed. "I advise you to do something small. It's not interesting. It would be nice if you could do something big in the future." Yu Meng quickly said, "Take it one step at a time and start from the grassroots level. Sister, I have no other choice."
Mrs. Xin saw that she couldn't avoid it. Yu Meng had been working like a slave for her, and Weng Yue had been her friend for many years. She knew Han Guang and Liang Cai. No matter what she did, she could only say, "My palms and backs are all flesh, and they hurt me."
Yu Meng understood that Weng Yue had already taken the lead. Indeed, how could the old man let go of Mrs. Xin's clue? She was foolish enough to come and burn incense only now. However, Mrs. Xin could say this, and Yu Meng was grateful. If she didn't take any action and was impartial, it would be hard to say who would sing the loudest in this drama.
Humph, you old man, you are a white snake, you have practiced for thousands of years, and I, Xiaoqing, am not someone to be trifled with! Yu Meng was so angry that her teeth ached. Let’s fight!
Yu Meng racked her brain, searching for all the connections she could use. Finally, she remembered that Xiaobai might be able to help. He was in the technology field. And then there was Liren, a long-standing connection. The county magistrate wasn't as good as the current one, so if he had any, he had to use them. No ambiguity; this was a fight for honor. When Yu Meng called Bai Yuankai, he was helping out at Kang Long's house. Kang's father couldn't take care of himself and didn't get along with the nanny, so he had to temporarily move in with his son. Bai Yuankai came to visit Kang's father and, incidentally, to smooth things over between the father and son.
Kang Long didn't tell Yu Shuang that his father was coming. He was afraid she would get involved - Old Man Kang was not someone to be trifled with.
On the phone, Yu Meng briefly explained the situation, and Bai Yuankai understood. He just couldn't remember the clues at the moment and had to look again. He promised Sister Meng that he would do his best.
Yu Meng called Li Ren again. The signal wasn't very good, just a ticking noise. Yu Meng moved to a secluded spot and loudly explained the situation. Li Ren shouted back, "I understand! I'll get back to you!" He owed Yu Meng a big favor and would definitely do his best.
Yu Meng asked, "Where are you? It's so noisy!"
Li Ren shouted: "Get on the car! Tricycle! Ta-ta! We are going to the countryside now! Into the mountains!" What a good cadre, Yu Meng exclaimed in admiration.
"Send a copy of the basic information to the mobile phone!" Li Ren continued to shout.
"Right away!" Yu Meng shouted unconsciously.
