Chapter 9 (2)

Chapter 9 (2)

Before boarding the plane, Yu Meng had secretly met with Mrs. Xin. While the Xin family was involved in many businesses, their overseas investments were few, especially in Myanmar, especially for a project like this one. However, Yu Meng could sense that the Xin family was interested in this project. It was simply because of the high profits.

She hadn't met Han Guang yet, but had just spoken with him on the phone, briefly explaining her thoughts on the project and the Xin family's attitude. Han Guang didn't express his opinion, only saying that they would discuss it after she returned.

Notice that Han Guang used the word "discuss." This suggests they're already partners. Yu Meng feels this is the most comfortable way for her and Han Guang to get along: not as lovers, but as partners. That's fine. Conquering a lover as icy as Han Guang is truly a thankless task.

Zhengyu suddenly fell ill. The school hospital diagnosed him with a minor illness, though his jaundice was a bit alarming. As parents, Luan Chengyun and Yu Meng were the first to arrive. It was a good opportunity to discuss their child's situation.

Yu Meng meant that they should just let their sons return home. They could be in trouble if they were hanging around overseas. Luan Chengyun thought it was better to consider his sons' wishes. Haoyu disagreed, "I won't go back. Zhengyu is sick and I can't be implicated."

Be firm in your attitude.

He had just reunited with Han Xiqian, and they couldn't just part ways like that. Yu Meng was preoccupied with her son's insistence on studying hard and making progress abroad, and she didn't stop him. When Zhengyu's condition improved slightly, Haoyu booked flights for his parents to return home.

"You're kidding!" Yu Meng criticized Haoyu. He had booked seats for his parents together.

Haoyu had no choice but to persuade her, "Mom, you are almost an entrepreneur now, surpassing my dad, so be more generous. The seats are next to each other, you can just treat him as air."

I couldn't see. Nothing. There was no other way. Flights were tight, so this was the only way. But Yu Meng requested that Haoyu send her alone to the airport. As for Luan Chengyun, let his American mistress take him there. It was a good opportunity for him to relive their dreams.

Everything went smoothly. Haoyu turned back to pick up Xiqian. They agreed to go to Koreatown. When they got in the car, Xiqian muttered, "Your mother is too difficult."

Haoyu said seriously, "Don't say that about my mother!"

Xi Qian said, "I'm telling the truth. She doesn't want the person I like. She insists on conquering the Himalayas and becoming my stepmother."

Emergency brake.

"Get out of the car." Haoyu helped her open the car door.

"What the hell?!" Xi Qian paid the price for her outspokenness.

"get off."

"Alright!" Xi Qian also had a bad temper. "Long live your mother! Your mother is great! You are such a person, you can't even take a joke."

Haoyu calmed down a bit. The car continued to drive. Xiqian's temper finally flared up, "Look at you! Can you blame me if she can't be my mother? My dad doesn't like her or doesn't want her, so isn't it the same as being my mother-in-law? I'm just half a mother."

"Your dad is just like that." Haoyu said disdainfully.

A little bit of money? Ugh!

"What?"

"Not a gentleman!"

"fart!"

"A gentleman can get together with his sister-in-law."

"Stop the car!" Xiqian's shrill voice could pierce the sky. Haoyu jumped. The car stopped. Xiqian strode down the road.

"No way." Haoyu drove after him, "I apologize. Let's not talk about our parents anymore."

"The apology is useless." Xi Qian said nonchalantly.

The passenger plane flew steadily above the clouds. A stewardess came over with a catering cart and smiled. Luan Chengyun extended his hand. "Orange juice, thank you."

The stewardess poured a glass of orange juice and handed it to him. Then she looked at Yu Meng again.

"Mineral water." Yu Meng said.

The flight attendant left. Luan Chengyun asked softly, smiling slightly, "Have you given up coffee?"

Yu Meng closed his eyes, his head sunk into the "flying artifact," and dragged his voice, "There's someone next to me I don't want to see, there's no need to be so awake."

"I can disappear." Luan Chengyun said in a calm tone.

"Disappear? Open the door and jump down?" Yu Meng said.

"Maybe the plane just fell down on its own."

"Shut up your jinx!" Yu Meng turned sideways, her back to him. For some reason, after the divorce, she felt free to act with Luan Chengyun. She could do anything with him. She could be a shrew, a vicious woman. Knowing him inside and out, there was no need to pretend. Furthermore, Yu Meng believed it was Old Luan who was to blame; he had brought out the less graceful side of her.

It's about fighting evil with evil.

Luan Chengyun was practically touching her back, "I advise you to be cautious about that wind farm project." What did he mean? The project had already been sold, and after Luan said that, Yu Meng actually wanted to hear his opinion.

"Be cautious about what?" she asked.

“There’s pollution.”

Yu Meng burst out laughing. This guy is crazy. Thermal power plants pollute, so how can wind power generation pollute? This is not standard layman's talk.

Yu Meng said seriously, "The wind is from heaven. I borrowed it to blow. How can it pollute anything?"

"That wind farm is located relatively close to a residential area. If it were put into operation, the noise, vibration, and radiation pollution from the wind turbines could pollute nearby residents and poultry farms."

"You're talking about a possibility," Yu Meng retorted, "maybe it won't happen at all."

“That’s a big problem.”

"Alright!" Yu Meng interrupted him. "You're a conscientious entrepreneur, and I'm not a pest to society. I have a brain and can analyze things. Thank you for your reminder."

Yu Meng turned her face away and continued to sleep.

She didn't think Luan Chengyun's analysis was unreasonable. He'd been working on projects for so many years, objectively speaking, he had accumulated a lot of experience. Yu Meng wondered if she should talk to him about the Myanmar project, let him analyze it, and brainstorm ideas. Then she thought, no, I'm going to make money, and this is a trade secret. I can't let someone like Luan Chengyun get there first.

The plane plunged into the clouds, and the light outside the windows dimmed. Soon, the plane began to shake. Flight attendants quickly arrived and began to soothe the passengers. Someone asked, "What's going on?! Is there a problem?" Before they could finish their words, a sudden jolt sent passengers screaming. Children cried, and passengers cried for help. An elderly man suffered a heart attack, and the flight attendants had to surround him and administer first aid.

There was another violent shaking.

The oxygen mask dropped.

Yu Meng glared at Lao Luan beside her. "This is such bad luck being with you!" In her panic, Yu Meng couldn't quite place herself correctly. Luan Chengyun freed his hands to help. Yu Meng felt bad that he was still following her during such an emergency. "Yours, put it on!" she shouted, following the oxygen mask. Luan Chengyun calmly put it on.

The shaking intensified, cups on the tables bounced and fell to the floor, and the cabin was in chaos. The flight attendants desperately tried to maintain order, trying to assure everyone that the difficulties were temporary and would soon be overcome. But in a cabin where God was playing dice, who would believe them? Some prayed, some began leaving suicide notes, and most were in panic, hysterical.

Luan Chengyun took off the mask and faced Yu Meng, "Maybe it's destined!" he almost shouted.

The noise is too loud.

"What?!"

"It's all destined!" he shouted again.

"What the hell?!" The fuselage fell up and down again, and Yu Meng was in a mess.

Luan Chengyun shouted in her ear, "We are destined not to be born on the same day, but to die on the same day!" Yu Meng was so excited that she reached out and slapped him, "I won't die! I won't die with you!"

Luan Chengyun suddenly started cheering.

Madman! Yu Menghen, he is a madman!

The cabin shook even more violently. It was almost impossible to sit still. Luan Chengyun hugged Yu Meng, trying to minimize her injuries. The cabin was in such chaos that it felt like the end of the world. Yu Meng clutched her head, her mask unable to hold onto her face, and she slumped to the side. Yu Meng suddenly burst into tears, "Son... my Haoyu and Zhengyu... Mommy loves you..." On the brink of life and death, Yu Meng thought of her son. What should she do? If the plane crashed, they would become orphans. Damn Luan Chengyun, if they hadn't boarded a plane, the children would still have hope... Luan Chengyun held his phone in one hand and quickly sent a message, not knowing if it would go through.

The cabin is inverted.

Everything is turned upside down.

Screams filled the air. Luan Chengyun and Yu Meng unconsciously held hands. It felt like a roller coaster ride. Yu Meng was already crying uncontrollably. Finally, they found their seats, but the turbulence continued.

Luan Chengyun stared at Yu Meng and shouted, "Please forgive me! Before you die, please forgive me!"

"I won't die!" Yu Meng screamed. She felt that her life had just begun, how could she die in mid-air.

"Forgive me!" Luan Chengyun was madly in a rage. "Don't go to another world with a knot in your heart! I was wrong in the past!... I shouldn't have looked for another woman!... I shouldn't have played... with women!... I shouldn't have hit on them!... It's my fault!"

It sounds like a confession.

Another reversal. Another jolt. Another shock. The cabin felt like a blender, breaking everything up and then reassembling it. Life seemed to be returning to zero.

"Forgive me! I fucking forgive you!" Yu Meng's voice was hoarse, tears mingling in her voice. Damn it! What a time it is now, this bastard!

The plane circled again in the air and finally broke through the clouds, like a bird shaking off the raindrops on its body, and continued to soar steadily in the air.

The crying gradually subsided.

Not dead. They are not dead!

Yu Meng burst into tears of joy, her makeup smudged like a cat and monkey. She excitedly hugged the people around her, celebrating her escape from death.

On the other side, it was Luan Chengyun.

"You forgive me." He still cares about this.

"No!" Yu Meng looked embarrassed and denied it flatly.
