Chapter 201 Tomorrow's Blossom (1)
As soon as Kasugawa Shugo opened his eyes, he felt a headache, as if a string was pulling from his temples to his neck.
The man raised his upper body with some difficulty. The lights in the room had been turned off long ago, and the curtains were drawn, making the room, which was already dark, even darker. He couldn't tell what time it was.
My head hurts...
Yesterday, they didn't have the energy to wash up and make the bed to sleep. In the end, they just lay around the table in the living room, making the originally spacious living room of Hagiwara Kenji's house extremely small. He happened to rest his head on the host's calf near the knee. The back of his head was hurt by the other's leg bone and knee, but his legs seemed to be resting on something softer, and even the height was just right.
Kasugawa Shugo looked in the direction of the legs and saw Amuro Toru sleeping half leaning on the edge of the sofa. He was silent for a while, and quietly moved down the legs that were wrapped in gauze on the other's stomach.
Private Marseille belly.
With a subtle sense of guilt, he glanced at the other's abdomen where he had been padding his feet for half the night, pulled someone's coat over it and covered it, and symbolically patted it as compensation for his stomach.
The man thought he did this set of actions secretly, but when he dragged his feet to the restaurant to pour water, he looked around the room unconsciously while putting it into his mouth, and met a pair of dark eyes.
"Pfft--cough cough..."
Kasugawa Shugo almost spit out the water in his mouth. He coughed several times in a low voice, then walked over with the cup of water to his friend who had been leaning against the glass door leading to the balcony without him noticing, "Why did you wake up so early?"
"I just got up to drink some water." Matsuda Jinpei said. He reached out and rudely snatched the cup of water that the other person had just taken a sip of, and drank it all in a few gulps.
"Hey, hey, I just poured some water." The man complained in a long tone. He opened the window curtain and looked out. The sky was still dark, but a slightly bright dark blue color appeared in the distance. "I thought I would sleep until noon, but I woke up so early."
Kasugawa Shugo simply sat by the French window and chatted with him casually. During the chat, he noticed that the various plates and wine glasses originally placed on the table had been taken away, and even the table was hastily wiped. It seemed that Matsuda Jinpei got up earlier than he thought.
Thinking of the other party cleaning the table among a pile of drunk and unconscious "corpses", his expression became subtle.
This guy's personality has collapsed, right? !
As the sky gradually brightened and sleepiness swept over him again, Kasugawa Shugo stood up and stretched his back carelessly, "......I'm going to go back to sleep."
He turned and walked indoors, but before he could take a few steps, he heard a voice coming from behind again.
"......What I said to you that day was actually..." Matsuda paused for a moment. The player who always spoke straight didn't know how to start now. The man subconsciously reached for his pocket in annoyance, and then he remembered that his full box of cigarettes had long been replaced with strawberry-flavored candy sticks.
Before he could continue, he saw the man who was stunned by this sentence suddenly smiled, and then turned around and spoke before him, "Actually, if I hadn't known you, I wouldn't have been injured so much, right?" "
......That's good to know." The black curly-haired police officer looked at him and deliberately responded in a bad tone.
He didn't drink much last night, at least he still had the strength to clean up the table after everyone else was drunk, so that no drunkard would move his arms and legs while sleeping on the floor, sweeping the glasses or dishes on the table to the ground and hurt himself.
It was also when they were cleaning up that Matsuda Jinpei suddenly realized that Kasugawa Shugo, who was usually the most noisy, became pitifully quiet when he was really drunk. He just bent his eyes and held his head up to watch the others making noise, and even the smile on his face was faint.
Come to think of it...did I not explain to him the real meaning of that sentence.
Although I apologized at the time and said that I shouldn't say such sharp words when I was angry, most of the time, angry words are true. Who knows whether this apology can dilute the harm caused by that sentence.
It is better to make it clear, so that the guy won't keep digging into it.
Matsuda Jinpei made up his mind, but he didn't expect that the explanation he didn't say out loud was said word for word by the guy.
"Please..." Kasugawa Shugo narrowed his eyes and looked at the other party with a bit of amusement, "It's almost summer, why are you still brooding over what happened last winter? It was me who was criticized by you at that time, I almost forgot how come you still remember it."
He stroked his hair, thinking of the sentence "I really wish I had never met you", which everyone would feel was a complaint about the other party, and his expression became serious, "We have known each other for seven years after all. More, although not even half of what Hagiwara, the childhood friend, said... but at least I can still understand what you meant at that time." He
was simply angry about rushing up the mountain overnight in the snow, and his brain was a little stuck. He felt that if it weren't for them, Kasugawa Shugo wouldn't have done such a stupid thing. It would be better if he didn't know them. Maybe he would be better off without them.
"You don't still think the same now, do you?" Kasugawa Shugo blinked, deliberately took two steps back, rubbed his forearm and complained, "She's like the kind-hearted heroine in those idol dramas. It turns out that Jinpei Kou has a little princess in her heart..."
Matsuda Jinpei rolled his eyes at him without hesitation, "Stop talking nonsense. Of course I figured it out the next day."
The chestnut-haired police officer put away that expression and waited for his next words.
"Anyway, without us, you'd have to make trouble for others, so you might as well get to know us." He took two steps forward, put his hands on the other's messy curly hair, and unceremoniously destroyed the other's furry hair. "At least we can still keep an eye on you."
"Yes, yes - after all, you are all violent gorillas who can wield fists, and are the best at violent suppression." The man smiled and dodged a little, saving his hair from the other's hands. "So you didn't sleep here late at night to pose because of this?"
Matsuda Jinpei glanced at him and said nothing.
"Okay, it's time to go to sleep." Kasugawa Shugo simply pulled him and pushed the guy who had been standing in front of him for who knows how long to the bedroom, stepping over Date Kou who was lying on the floor, "I see Hagiwara sleeping comfortably on the floor, why not occupy his bed."
After saying that, he looked down and covered the squad leader who had been drunk all night and didn't reveal how he was going to get him to attend the wedding with a coat.
It shouldn't be something too strange, right...?
.
After this night, Toru Amuro turned back into a working model who worked several jobs. He was so busy that he could not be seen in the cafe. When they met again, it was Date Kou's wedding.
This guy who was once described as a "carnivore" by Hagiwara Kenji completely followed Natalie's preferences and held the wedding in a hotel that looked like a small castle, because the wedding was decorated with pure flowers everywhere.
As a bride, Natalie did not want her lover to see her carefully dressed appearance in advance, so she stayed in the special dressing room and repeatedly ordered him not to come to her.
Although they couldn't meet, the two people who were only separated by a wall kept sending text messages. The man in a well-tailored suit looked down at the screen of his mobile phone, and the expression on his face made the policeman who was also wearing a suit but a much simpler style feel jealous.
"I can't stand it anymore, I have to go out for some fresh air." Hagiwara Kenji adjusted his hair and sighed, "Men who want to get married are really scary, it's better to leave early."
Matsuda Jinpei put one hand in his pocket and dragged out his voice to agree, "Agree--"
The two walked towards the door. As soon as they walked around the inside of the dressing room, they saw the narrow and long area inside the door. Two particularly lonely figures sat on the top of the stairs. The disguised Morobushi Kagemitsu stood next to the two people, looking like he wanted to laugh but was embarrassed.
Among the people in suits, the waiter Toru Amuro, who was wearing the standard shirt and vest suit, stood out. He even wore white gloves for employees. After feeling the crowd coming over, he patted the man next to him... the bear's shoulder with a sad look.
Kasugawa Shugo, who was wearing a stuffed bear, turned hesitantly towards the group. In order to match the overall atmosphere of the wedding, the bear's fur was white, and it even wore a small black hat on its head, a bow tie around its neck, and a loose vest.
The chestnut-haired man's resentful eyes almost shot out from the doll's black eyes.
He showed his teeth and claws, trying to mess up the clothes of the three... four guys wearing normal clothes beside him, but he was quickly suppressed because of his obstructed vision and huge size.
"Shouldn't we two be a united front?!" Because he was sitting closest and was the most affected in the movement to suppress the plush bears, Toru Amuro pressed the other person and said helplessly.
"Who wants to unite with you!" The suppressed Kasugawa Shugo shouted, "Today I have no mutual understanding with all the guys who are dressed normally!"
"Fight! Fight with me!" He said, and unconvinced, he spun a set of bear whirlwind punches at Hagiwara Kenji. He didn't expect that this heroic act of trying to fight four people with a bear did not get the respect he deserved. Instead, he was mocked by the others who surrounded him and took a whole set of video and photos.
They finally calmed down a little when Tsukiyama pushed the door in.
"I brought some snacks for Brother Ida and Miss Natalie. You probably won't have anything to eat all day today." The man in a light-colored suit said with a smile, and put the box of snacks in front of the groom who was still texting with his wife, "I just asked Xiaolan and the others to take that."
After he finished speaking, he looked at the plush bear on the floor, which had lost hope in life and was lying on the ground in a ball. The smile in his eyes became a little bigger.
When Kasugawa Shugo made this move, he didn't think it was a big deal. When he saw what it looked like from Tsukiyama Asari's perspective, he realized it belatedly and felt embarrassed. The man coughed a few times in the plush shell, stood up silently, and used his furry paws to adjust his bow tie and top hat.
"I remember someone just said..." Hagiwara Kenji raised an eyebrow and deliberately raised his voice when he said this to his childhood friend, "Today, I will be sworn enemies with all the guys who are dressed normally?"
"Parenthesis, except Asari." The man in the stuffed bear said righteously. He moved aside and looked at the box of snacks brought by Tsukiyama Asari next to Date Kou, and then moved to the rest table next to him to get several cupcakes. When he was about to eat, he remembered that he was wearing a stuffed bear mask. Tsukiyama Asari hurried
over and took off the stuffed bear mask on his head, which looked very furry and large, but was actually light, so that the latter could finally put the cake into his mouth.
After Kasugawa Shugo finished eating his cake, he looked up and met Hagiwara Kenji's eyes. The two guys who often played pranks together during the police academy were connected at that moment. The
half-long-haired guy suddenly picked up Matsuda Jinpei who was still chatting with Date Kou from behind. Before the other party could react, another accomplice quickly took the plush bear headgear from Tsukiyama Asari and put it on the usually ferocious explosives department police officer.
Morobushi Kagemitsu was dazzled by their overly skilled movements, and then quickly took out his mobile phone and took a burst of photos of this once-in-a-century scene.
The crisp sound of shutters was instantly heard in the room.
When Matsuda Jinpei took off the silly doll headgear with a gloomy face, the two people who had done bad things had already turned around and ran to another corner of the dressing room. He held the bear head with a wise look in one hand and gritted his teeth and said, "You two guys!"
Kasugawa Shugo stood behind Hagiwara Kenji, blinked quickly at his furious friend, and then immediately betrayed, taking advantage of the position to use his hand still wearing a plush coat to lift the half-long-haired police officer from behind.
So the bear head was transferred from Matsuda Jinpei's hand to Hagiwara Kenji's head.
After that, the room was completely turned into a melee of plush bear heads. Except for Date Kou, who couldn't let his look be ruined, and Tsukiyama Asari, who consciously took a few steps back to the safety zone in the groom's protection area, everyone was put in a bear head, leaving a weird afterimage in the camera. When it finally died down, Matsuda Jinpei's curly hair was statically charged and exploded on his head, looking like a black sheep from a distance.
The rare black sheep was photographed by several people holding back their laughter.
"It's almost time." Tsukiyama Asari looked at the time, and then ended his casual chat with Date Kou, and reminded with a smile, "Clean up."
His eyes paused on the messy clothes and messy hair of the few people.
"Wait a minute--" Kasugawa Shugo wiped off the sweat on his head with a towel, and stopped several people who were about to leave, "Hand over your cell phone, I need to check the photos."
The police officer who put on the bear suit again quickly looked through the photo album while others were tidying up their clothes and hair, and deleted and screenshotted the photos of his face in them, and then he put the cell phones of several people back on the table with satisfaction.
"Are you ready?" Amuro Toru walked back after adjusting his tie. In order to avoid unnecessary trouble, he also put on the black-framed glasses he wore when he first met Maori Kogoro, looking like a college student who worked hard to save money.
Kasugawa Shugo sighed at his baby face and reached out to help pass the phone over, "Look, I deleted the two photos with your face in the background."
"Okay." The man put the phone back in his pocket and looked at him for a while, "It's really difficult to keep a photo of you."
After the mission is over, he and Morobushi Kagemitsu can restore their previous identities. Only Kasugawa Shugo will probably not be able to leave any photos even after retirement.
"What's the big deal." The chestnut-haired police officer looked at him with a smile and patted his round little bear head. "You can see me every day, why do you need photos? You are not the type who likes to decorate your bedroom or living room with photos, right?"
"It's not like I can see you every day. After Hiro and I finish our mission, I'm afraid you will be the only one who has not been seen for ten days or half a month." Amuro Toru glanced at the guy and stretched out his hand to pull the plush ears on his head. "Okay, I'm leaving first."
As a waiter, he now has to go to the field to entertain guests and pretend like other real waiters.
"Okay..."
After Kasugawa Shugo responded, he realized that he was also an "outsider". He turned to Date Kou and pointed at himself with his furry hand, "Team leader, what is my job?"
It's not just to be a mascot in the lobby, right?
"Of course not." As if seeing through what he was thinking, Date Kou smiled and handed him a box that was properly placed on the table, "You are responsible for this."
"No way..." Kasugawa Shugo swallowed his saliva in the plush head cover. He reached out to take the box, opened it a little carefully, and immediately saw the shining diamonds inside through the actually very thin little bear eyes, "Are you really going to give me such an important job?"
Date Kou nodded.
In fact, in the previous plan, this task was given to Fei Niao Wu. When he talked about this with Natalie, the latter's first reaction was to let a boy who had met her a few times to be the one to deliver the ring.
"Don't you like that child very much? And... his white hair looks like an angel, right? Wouldn't it be a very happy feeling to receive the ring from such a child?"
He closed his eyes, and when he looked up, he saw the big plush bear in front of him saluted him. His back was straight, but because of the plush clothes, this action looked very out of place.
"I promise to complete the mission, sir!"
Originally, Ida Kou, who would have laughed and cursed at this, just smiled with the corners of his mouth pulled, causing Tsukiyama next to him to move closer, touch his chin and look up and down at him several times, and then teased, "Are you nervous, brother Ida?"
Unexpectedly, after saying this, the latter's expression really changed slightly, neither admitting nor denying.
"After all, it's a very important time." Hagiwara Kenji also smiled and moved over, "But it's rare for squad leader Ida to be nervous. Don't worry, if you fall on the stage later, as the best man, I will definitely hold you back."
"I won't." Matsuda Jinpei added.
"Eh? Xiao Zhenping is too much--"
Listening to the idle chatter of several people, the smile on Date Kou's face was interrupted by the ceremonial master who came to inform that the time was almost up. The man swallowed nervously and almost stumbled when he looked up from his chair. Kasugawa Shugo wanted to laugh but didn't dare to, for fear of making the other party more nervous. He was shaking all over, and even the fur on the plush bear was shaking. Fortunately,
there was no such incident at the wedding ceremony that required other people to save the situation.
Whether it was going on stage or giving a speech, Date Kou appeared to be at ease, except when Natalie walked towards the stage with her father. Standing on the stage, the man who was about to become his beloved's husband looked at his wife's white dress and was stunned for a moment and could not react.
"I actually saw such an expression on the face of the class leader, a carnivore..." Hagiwara Kenji whispered to the young girl next to him.
Fortunately, when Natalie walked in front of him, Matsuda Jinpei quickly pinched Date Kou's arm, and finally made the latter come to his senses, carefully holding his wife up and walking to the stage.
All the ceremonies were carried out as planned. It was rare that this time, Edogawa Conan participated in the whole process quietly from the stage. There were no ambiguous screams or quarrels full of flags.
Date Kou invited few people, most of whom were colleagues and friends who worked together day and night. Natalie invited even fewer friends, which made the scene more lively because of this closeness. After the solemn ceremony ended, everyone gathered together to chat, and it looked like a large party.
"Ran, Sonoko." After greeting Chori and Jinpei Matsuda, Tsukiyama walked towards the two girls and asked with a smile, "The bouquet is about to be thrown, don't you want to go and see?"
"Of course!" The energetic young lady immediately responded. She dragged her friend who was eating cake into the crowd facing the bride under the stage, and shouted to Natalie, who she had actually hardly met, "Beautiful bride - throw it over here!"
Natalie couldn't help laughing at the two energetic little girls, and was happy to deliver the blessing that the two obviously expected, and really threw the bouquet in their direction.
The bouquet of platycodon, suzuran and gardenia flashed beautiful spots in the sun, and the next second it fell into the hands of the long-haired girl who had not yet reacted. Mao Lilan looked into her arms in a daze. Not far away, Edogawa Conan blushed under the loud cheering of Suzuki Sonoko.
As soon as he turned his head, he saw Tsukiyama Asari standing beside him, smiling and taking several photos of him. The boy stood up and chased after him, "Asari! Delete it quickly--"
What Kasugawa Shugo didn't expect was that his plush bear suit was so popular. After throwing the bouquet, he didn't know how many people asked him to take photos. Even Megure Jusan came over under the push of his wife and hugged the furry and round bear embarrassedly.
On weekdays, he liked this chubby police officer because of Tsukiyama Asari. He simply relied on his strength to pick up the originally embarrassed police officer Megure and turned him around, causing Megure Midori beside him to quickly take out her mobile phone to record the scene and laugh so hard that she couldn't straighten her waist.
The wedding day was chosen very well. It was sunny and bright all day. When the afternoon was about to end, the guests who were already familiar with each other made appointments to drink and chat in groups of three or four. Edogawa Conan left for the hospital after the ceremony. When Maori Ran said goodbye to Suzuki Sonoko and returned home, it was already dark. Maori Kogoro was invited to a party by Megure Jusan and others, and he has not returned yet.
He must have gotten drunk somewhere.
The long-haired girl complained in her heart, but her face still showed the shadow of today's happiness. She carefully trimmed the bouquet and waited until she put it in a transparent vase filled with water. The boy who left in a hurry at noon came back.
Mao Lilan looked over and saw only a field of bright sunflowers. She didn't expect that after Edogawa Conan put the sunflowers away properly, he held a small bunch of fragrant lilies and handed it to the girl.
"Thank you, Conan." The latter's cautious result made her eyes bend. She looked at the unusually bright sunflowers under the light not far away and asked in a low voice, "Conan, are you going to see Mr. Suemitsu tomorrow?"
"Well, let's go tomorrow morning. I'm afraid it will be too late to buy them in the morning." Edogawa Conan nodded.
"Then I'll put those here together with the sunflowers." Mao Lilan stood up and took out several flowers that had just been trimmed from the vase. The bouquets chosen by Natalie and the others were very good, and each one looked like a bud about to bloom. "If you soak these in water, they will bloom in two days." "
It will take two days to bloom..." The boy's eyes darkened, but he still smiled at the kind girl, "But this is the bouquet for the wedding."
"Although it's a wedding bouquet, the meaning is to convey happiness." The girl smiled and carefully rubbed a few flowers into the sunflower bouquet. The brilliant and pure colors matched together, making it even more beautiful than before. "As long as it is a flower that conveys happiness, it's the best to give it to others."
Edogawa Conan stared at the girl he liked for a long time before speaking, "Xiaolan..."
He usually called her "sister" and "sister" at the end. Only in an emergency or serious situation would he blurt out the name "Xiaolan" that he was used to calling before. Mao Lilan was stunned for a while, squatted down, and asked, "What's wrong?"
"It will be over soon." The boy looked at her and held her hand, which was much bigger than his. "I won't let you wait any longer."
In fact, the night after Xiao Wu left, Edogawa Conan had already confessed his identity after returning from Suemitsu Sosuke, but he didn't say it directly. The two of them just kept it to themselves and continued to get along as usual.
Hearing Edogawa Conan, or hearing Kudo Shinichi suddenly say such words to her, Mao Lilan instantly understood that he was about to go through the last, most difficult and most important period. The girl didn't know what she should do or say to help him. She just squatted down and curled her eyes at her shrunken lover.
"Silly."
Ran Mouri reached out and took off the other's glasses, and after a long time, she looked into those blue eyes. "No matter how long it takes, I will wait for you and stay with you."
The
next day was still a good day.
When Edogawa Conan went out, Ran Mouri had already rewrapped the bouquet. The girl carefully wrapped the flowers with white paper, which was softer and more transparent than normal paper, and tied a light red ribbon underneath to fix the neatly trimmed branches.
The brilliant sunflowers, the elegant and pure gardenias, bell orchids and platycodons were clustered together, finally adding a touch of bright color to this bleak ward.
"Good morning, teacher." Edogawa Conan greeted the black-haired man on the hospital bed while carefully unpacking the bouquet in his hand and putting it into the vase he had brought a long time ago. "By tomorrow, all the flowers should be in bloom."
"Tomorrow?" Suemitsu Sosuke lowered his eyes slightly and did not continue talking.
Then he probably couldn't see it.
With his physical condition, it was actually the limit for him to last until winter, but because of the hopes of many people in the forum, his life was miraculously extended. But no matter how long it was extended, there would always be a day when he left.
Later, the incident with Asuka Kiri happened. He couldn't let the boy suffer two such blows in a short period of time, so he gritted his teeth and continued to hold on. In this way, he dragged his already broken body little by little, slowly survived the spring, and survived Date Kou's wedding.
Although he was not familiar with them, and had only met them a few times before, it was still not good to spread the word "death" that people feared the most before the wedding.
After the man who had planned many things thought about it seriously, and when there was nothing else to do, he could finally greet the last moment of his life in peace.
As if they had a premonition, Okiya Subaru and Edogawa Conan arrived earlier than usual today. The former opened the curtains to let the sunlight into the room.
Under the Yangguan, Suemiku Sosuke, who was no longer filled with catheters, quietly looked to the side and looked outside, as transparent as a piece of paper.
In fact, if the same rescue method was used again, perhaps his life, which was only thirty years long, could be barely extended for a few days, but when the doctor asked about the hospital where they were, both Okiya Subaru and Edogawa Conan, who had been in the hospital, and the patients at the time, firmly chose to refuse. Rather than
experiencing such pain and torture again and prolonging his life, it would be better to let him leave like he was sleeping.
In the past few days, people have come one after another, including former superiors and colleagues, Officer Nagasawa, Seto Hitoshi... even Hagiwara Kenji, who I had only met a few times, have come. As their final farewell, they are always very quiet in the ward and chat peacefully for a while. Some of them will stand up and leave in a hurry when they are choked up, and when they come back, they still have smiles on their faces, as if nothing had happened just now.
Subaru Okiya was probably one of the few who behaved the calmest. Perhaps it was because he saw with his own eyes how Suemiku Sosuke's health was getting worse, and he had thought about such a day when they first met. Or it could be because this FBI agent was so good at pretending. He came every day, but it seemed that he didn't know the deadline. He always chatted with the person on the bed in a calm tone, and left in time when the other person couldn't hold on any longer and was about to fall asleep.
No matter what the reason was, this way of getting along made Suemiku Sosuke very relaxed.
When the boy arranged the flowers and ran to the bed and lay quietly on the bed, the teacher with dark red eyes still keenly caught the emotions in the other's eyes.
"What are you sad about?" He smiled and stretched his hand a little towards the boy. After the action, the hand was immediately gently held by the other party, "You should be happy for me."
"Happy...?"
Edogawa Conan's expression was a little gloomy. He held the other party's bony hand tightly and murmured.
"You always knew it. Death to me is just..."
"Just meeting them, right?" The boy whispered this sentence, but when he said it, his heart hurt as if it was pierced by a row of needles.
Okiya Subaru behind him listened quietly and put his palm on the boy's shoulder.
"Meet..." Suemitsu Sosuke subconsciously repeated this word.
Meet, or reunion.
Overly beautiful words, in the past, would only appear when I didn't take medicine in time or had hallucinations after seeing stressors, but now, when this thing is really coming.
"I've always said that I look forward to death more than anyone else."
After a long silence, Suemitsu Sosuke seemed to remember something and spoke in a joking tone, but the smile inside was washed away by the weak tone, and it was very faint.
He raised his hand which was once again covered with pinholes, and used his fingertips which were so pale that they even had a faint blue tint to wipe away the tears from the boy's eyes. The man who was always strict and rarely made intimate gestures towards his students was incredibly gentle when he did this. "I didn't expect... that when the time came to really leave, I would feel a little reluctant."
Edogawa Conan looked up at him, and tried hard to blink away the tears that blocked his vision, wanting to look at his teacher a few more times.
"You are my most proud student." Suemitsu Sosuke tapped the other's face with his slender fingers, with a hint of intimacy, "Little detective...even I can't imagine what you will look like when you grow up."
It's hard to describe. Even without the so-called protagonist halo seen on the forum, the boy in front of him is too shining and dazzling, like a star that is about to rise. Obviously, predicting the follow-up situation of a person based on his behavior and personality is what he does most as a captain and teacher, but facing this last student, he can't imagine what he will look like in the future.
Didn't see it, didn't respond. This is probably one of the few regrets of men.
Suemitsu Sosuke raised his face slightly and met the eyes of Okiya Subaru who was standing behind the boy, "Will your action be in ten days?"
"Ten days later." Okiya Subaru squinted his eyes and looked back at each other with his sharp dark green eyes, "...a difficult task."
"But we will complete it." Edogawa Conan's eyes lit up, he looked at his teacher, as if he had made a vow, "We will succeed."
"Of course." Suemitsu Sosuke looked at him and smiled. It was the first time that he smiled so wantonly and ostentatiously in front of his student, "You are my student."
He wiped away the last bit of tears that had not been wiped away from the corner of the boy's eyes.
Conan Edogawa looked at the red eyes that suddenly lit up, and saw only the blazing fire. Under such a strong and boiling belief, the tiny body of human beings seemed insignificant.
This was just an ordinary ward, and the line of sight could not penetrate the cherry blossom forest that they had just visited not long ago, which was thousands of miles away and only the wind could reach. Conan Edogawa felt as if he saw the teacher under the tree that day.
He said something like "Life is like a guest, time is like a gallop", and he was so confident that he didn't care about his broken stomach. He drank the freshly brewed plum wine in his hand just like he used to force nicotine into his body. He smiled even when he lowered his head and coughed because of being stung.
The man's eyes at that time were the same as they are now.
On the bed, Suemiku Sosuke looked at him, his dark red eyes were shining brightly because of the fire in his eyes, and then shattered at the most eye-catching moment.
Looking into his eyes was like looking at a boiling fire devouring his flesh and blood. But maybe it was because Suemitsu Sosuke was too relieved and resolute about death, or because the ward was too quiet, or because of something else, Edogawa Conan stared at him blankly. Watching what happened in just a moment, he felt for no reason... that this was a silent and long departure.
A quiet farewell.
When he and Okiya Subaru accompanied the elder Nagasawa to complete all the formalities and returned to the empty ward, Edogawa Conan was somewhat surprised to find that the petals of the flowers in the vase had slightly opened, and they would probably bloom completely every morning.
The boy walked out of the hospital holding the bouquet of flowers.
