Chapter 27 Expelled from the Blessed House

Supported by Xia'er, Xi Ying was on tenterhooks as she watched the only place left to be searched, Liu Xiang Yuan. She stared intently at the house where Yan Ning had lived, her hand gripping Xia'er's hand tightly. Xia'er was sweating from the pain, but seeing Xi Ying's state, she remained silent. Both of them watched as the servants walked step by step toward the main house.

"Wow……"

Upon hearing Delin's cries, Xi Ying released Xia'er's hand, pushed aside the servants in front of her, and stumbled into the room.

Because Heshen had instructed Fu Chang'an to protect Yan Ning before leaving the Fu residence, Fu Chang'an rushed to the Fu residence. As soon as he stepped into the gate of Liuxiang Garden, he heard the child crying and quickly walked into the main room.

Following the sound of crying, Xi Ying found her son, De Lin, under Yan Ning's bed. De Lin was sobbing uncontrollably. Xi Ying picked up De Lin, and the weight that had been on her heart finally lifted, but now another worry began to rise.

"Xia'er, go fetch a doctor, let's go back to the manor!" The sound of Xi Ying's flowerpot-soled shoes gradually faded away in Liuxiang Garden.

Xiang'er, hiding behind the screen, breathed a sigh of relief after watching Xi Ying carry De Lin out.

Fu Chang'an glanced around the room; there was only one place where someone could hide. He walked to the screen, paused briefly, but didn't push it down. A knowing smile appeared on his lips, and he ordered everyone to return to their residences.

When Xiang'er heard Fu Chang'an walking towards the screen, she became flustered and clenched her fists tightly. Just as Xiang'er was about to go out and confess everything, she saw him stop. Then she heard him order the servants to return to the Fucha residence.

Xiang'er stepped out from behind the screen, thinking to herself: He clearly knew there was someone behind the screen, so why didn't he investigate? Without thinking further, Xiang'er hurriedly returned to the mansion.

Yan Ning felt like her head was about to split open, and the pain from her injuries made her groan. She forced herself to open her eyes and saw some wood and miscellaneous items around her. She smiled weakly, realizing that there really were woodsheds in ancient times.

“Since yesterday, it all seems like a trap set for me. Is it Heshen? No, he would be too busy trying to curry favor with me if he wanted to know about his son! So who is going to such lengths to frame me?” Yan Ning muttered to herself as she lay on the ground, the injuries on her back and lower back making it impossible for her to sit or lie down.

The room had only one small window, and it was damp and cold inside. It was late autumn, and Yan Ning coughed involuntarily. "Cough cough cough... I don't know many people in the capital, and I certainly don't have any enemies. This matter involves Delin, the son of Fukang'an and his wife..."

Thinking of this, Yan Ning recalled the scene of Aunt Lian and You Yuanzhi together. "It was her. If Delin died, and the Madam was heartbroken, and I was the murderer, then no one else would dare to kill Fukang'an with her. You Yuanzhi was the perfect person to take Delin out of the heavily guarded Fucha Mansion. A woman's jealousy is truly terrifying!" Yan Ning clenched her fists, hating herself for not telling the Madam about Aunt Lian and You Yuanzhi's relationship that day. Now, she feared no one would believe her no matter what she said. She only hoped that the Madam wouldn't be so heartless as to harm her two-year-old child.

"Doctor, how is my son?" Xi Ying asked anxiously, looking at Delin lying on the bed. He had been crying on the way, but now he was unconscious.

"Madam, the young master was just a little frightened and inhaled a lot of 'sleeping incense.' I'll prescribe some medicine for him, and he'll be fine after taking it." The doctor said, getting up to write the prescription.

Xi Ying tucked her son's exposed hand back under the covers and instructed the servant standing beside her, "Qiu'er, go get the medicine!"

"yes!"

Granny Li helped Old Madam Fucha rush to Chaoxiying's courtyard. Old Madam Fucha asked anxiously, "Was Delin found in the main house of Liuxiang Garden? Was nothing else discovered?"

"Yes! At the time, everyone's attention was focused on Delin, and they didn't notice anything they shouldn't have." Granny Li also breathed a sigh of relief, and her gaze towards Old Madam Fucha regained its composure.

"Mother, why are you here? Didn't I have someone tell you that Delin is alright?" Xi Ying, who was sitting by the bed, saw the old lady coming over, so she got up to offer her a seat, took Li Mama's hand, and helped her sit down.

"How could I not come? He's my own grandson!" The old lady gently stroked Delin's sleeping face, her eyes filled with love.

Thinking of Yan Ning in the woodshed, Old Madam Fucha reached out and, with Xi Ying standing beside her, helped her to her feet. "Alright, now that De Lin is alright, come with me to the hall. I cannot let the murderer go unpunished!"

The door to the woodshed was suddenly flung open, and Yan Ning saw the two old women from before walk in. Knowing that the matter had been resolved, she asked, "Has Delin been found?"

The two old women showed disdain on their faces, as if they knew that Yan Ning would no longer have a status in this mansion. One of the old women replied fiercely, "Young Master Delin was found in Liuxiang Garden where Miss lives. Miss is really good at acting."

Yan Ning knew that no matter what she did, she couldn't explain herself. Now that Fukang'an was gone, no one here would believe her. Even if Fukang'an were here, given the circumstances, it would be difficult for him to believe her.

"Aunt Lian, you're truly cunning!" Yan Ning exclaimed. The two old women, as if they hadn't heard her, dragged her, who couldn't walk, to the hall. Yan Ning's legs gave way from the pain, and she collapsed to the ground, her eyes filled with resentment as she looked at Xiang'er. Xiang'er, however, was only focused on the embroidered floral pattern on her clothes, ignoring Yan Ning.

Having witnessed Delin in Yan Ning's room, Fu Chang'an knew the matter was settled and that he didn't need to offend the old lady for Yan Ning's sake, so he remained silent.
