Chapter 29 Winter Agreement



"Please, Your Excellency, spare my life until I can find a way back to where I belong!" Yan Ning looked into Heshen's eyes, her expression calm and devoid of any emotion, and said.

"Very well, I will do everything in my power to protect the young lady!" Heshen's joy was palpable. If he could foresee things that had not yet happened, his future would be limitless.

Yan Ning regained some strength and tried to get up, wanting to sit up halfway, but the pain from her wounds made her wince. He Shen quickly helped her sit up, placing a soft, lily-scented quilt behind her. Smelling the lily fragrance, Yan Ning couldn't help but ask, "I only mentioned it casually that day, and you remembered it?"

Heshen sat back down on the stool, his eyes crinkling into crescent moons. "Your words, young lady, are truly invaluable. How could I possibly forget them?"

Yan Ning chuckled and told Heshen what he wanted to know, "Your son will soon be named Fengshen Yinde by the Emperor and be betrothed to the Tenth Princess.
