"Did you earn a thousand taels of silver?"
Su Peisheng looked at the big fat orange cat's nonchalant expression and thought about the messages he had received.
The fat orange hadn't been asked before, so it wasn't reported. But now that it was suddenly brought up, Su Peisheng's smile turned awkward.
When the chubby orange cat saw that Su Peisheng didn't reply, and then turned around and saw his expression, it seemed that something was wrong.
"Didn't it sell? Did you lose money?"
The fat orange cat chuckled, "I knew it would be like this. Did you send someone to buy a few pounds? Even a little bit is a token of my appreciation."
Seeing Da Pang Ju's expression, Su Peisheng was even more at a loss for words. Da Pang Ju's face immediately turned serious when he didn't reply.
"What, you didn't lose money?"
Su Peisheng forced a smile that looked more like a grimace, and said helplessly,
"Your Majesty, Consort Cheng's shop did not lose money; in fact, it made a considerable profit."
"Besides the families of all the concubines in the palace supporting the meal, the Empress had a sign put up under the signboard that read, 'Emperor himself said it was delicious.'"
"They say the milk used in it is specially supplied to the royal family, and musicians play the lute to the cows every day in order to produce the finest milk."
"Whether they were powerful and wealthy or ordinary people, everyone in the capital was extremely curious about this. Anyone who could afford some money bought some to try it out."
"The supply was already insufficient to meet the demand, and Consort Cheng offered a 20% discount for the first three days after the opening."
"The original price was ten taels of silver per catty, but it's only eight taels for three days. I heard that the orders for this milk candy are already booked for two months."
The chubby orange asked, "Eight taels of silver per catty, how much silver has Consort Cheng's shop earned these days?"
Su Peisheng said, "This servant has roughly estimated that it should be no less than 100,000 taels. This is the profit after deducting costs."
Big Fat Orange couldn't believe that a small candy shop could earn so much money.
Out of surprise, Big Fat Orange's usually squinty eyes suddenly turned into almond-shaped eyes; this is probably what it means to be greedy for money.
“Su Peisheng, Consort Cheng is in the inner palace, and she has to serve me and take care of Hongzhou. It is really hard for her.”
"Tell me, is it appropriate for me to send someone to help her share her burdens?"
