Chapter 102 Ancient Ruins Exploration, Unexpected Time Travel Back

Far from where Ling Yichen and Jun Mozhan reside, lies a mysterious land forgotten by time. Legend has it that an ancient ruin lies hidden there, a testament to the rise and fall of a long-vanished, glorious civilization. The ruin's existence is like a silent epic, softly chanting in the long river of history, captivating countless adventurers, yet its treacherous terrain and numerous traps deter most. Ling Yichen and Jun Mozhan, two souls filled with curiosity and a thirst for exploration, were instantly ignited by this legend, and resolutely embarked on an adventure into this ancient ruin, fraught with unknowns and challenges.

They traversed a dense, boundless primeval forest, where the intertwined branches and leaves allowed sunlight to filter through the layers of leaves, casting dappled shadows that seemed to guide their way. Along the way, they carefully avoided venomous snakes lurking in the undergrowth and skillfully navigated seemingly calm but treacherous swamps. Jun Mo Ran, map in hand, frowned slightly as she meticulously determined her direction; her eyes revealed unwavering resolve and focus. Ling Yi Chen, carrying a heavy pack, remained constantly alert to his surroundings, a weapon clutched tightly in his hand, his taut muscles a testament to his vigilance.

Finally, after overcoming countless hardships, a massive stone gate, weathered and worn by vines and the passage of time, appeared before them. The gate was covered with mysterious symbols and patterns, which seemed to possess a life of their own, flickering in the dim light, as if telling ancient stories. Ling Yichen gently stroked the patterns on the stone gate, a profound sense of awe welling up within him. Jun Mo Ran, meanwhile, carefully studied the mechanisms surrounding the stone gate. Her fingers slowly moved along the edge of the gate, and suddenly, her eyes lit up as she discovered a recessed groove hidden in a corner.

"Yichen, look here!" Jun Mo Ran exclaimed excitedly. Ling Yichen quickly walked to her side and looked in the direction she was pointing. They exchanged a glance, understanding each other perfectly, and began searching around for an object that could fit into the groove. After a careful search, Ling Yichen found a strangely shaped stone among a pile of rubble not far away. The size of the stone perfectly matched the groove. He carefully picked up the stone, slowly walked towards the stone door, and in a tense atmosphere, gently inserted the stone into the groove.

With a muffled turning of a mechanism, the stone door slowly opened, releasing an ancient and mysterious aura. Filled with excitement and trepidation, they stepped into the ancient ruins. The interior was dark and deep, with faint phosphorescent lights flickering on the walls, illuminating their path. They slowly walked along a long passage, flanked by various strangely shaped pottery and bronze artifacts, their exquisite decorations seemingly showcasing the superb skills of ancient artisans.

Jun Mo Ran couldn't help but exclaim softly, "These cultural relics are so exquisite. They carry so much historical and cultural information." Ling Yi Chen nodded in agreement, "Yes, we must be careful to protect them and not damage anything here."

As they ventured deeper, the mechanisms within the ruins became increasingly complex and dangerous. In a narrow passageway, the ground was covered with sharp spikes, threatening to pierce them with the slightest misstep. Huge stone spheres hung overhead, seemingly poised to fall at any moment. Ling Yichen stepped into the passageway first, carefully observing the mechanisms on the ground and overhead. With his agility and precise judgment, he skillfully avoided the spikes, successfully traversing this dangerous area. Jun Mo Ran followed closely behind. Although somewhat frightened, with Ling Yichen's encouragement and help, she too successfully crossed the passageway.

They continued onward and arrived at a vast hall. In the center of the hall stood a tall stone platform, upon which rested a crystal ball radiating an eerie light. The light from the crystal ball illuminated the entire hall, allowing them to see everything around them clearly. The walls of the hall were covered with exquisite murals, depicting a rich variety of subjects, from ancient sacrificial scenes to war scenes, from daily life and production to astronomy and calendar systems—a vivid historical scroll unfolding before their eyes, showcasing every aspect of that ancient civilization.

Ling Yichen and Jun Mozhan were deeply captivated by the scene before them. They slowly approached the stone platform, wanting to examine the mysterious crystal ball more closely. Just as they were about to reach the platform, suddenly, the ground beneath their feet began to tremble violently, and the surrounding walls creaked and groaned. They realized with horror that the ultimate mechanism within the ruins had been triggered.

"Oh no, we've triggered a mechanism! What do we do?" Jun Mo Ran cried out anxiously. Ling Yi Chen gripped her hand tightly and calmly said, "Don't be afraid, let's find a place to hide." They looked around and spotted a seemingly hidden stone door in a corner of the hall. They rushed towards the door and, just as the mechanism was about to activate, successfully hid behind it.

Behind the stone gate was a narrow passage, at the end of which was a vortex radiating dazzling light. The vortex seemed to possess a powerful suction force, drawing everything around it in. Ling Yichen and Jun Moran tried to escape, but found themselves utterly powerless against that immense force. In despair, they clung tightly to each other, only to be swept into the vortex.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a completely unfamiliar world. The surrounding architecture was simple yet elegant, and people dressed in ancient costumes hurried about. The streets were filled with a rich ancient atmosphere, with the sounds of vendors hawking their wares and horses' hooves blending together to create a vivid picture of ancient urban life.
