Chapter 130 Auspicious Start, A Brand New Journey Begins

After countless days and nights of intense preparation, Ling Yichen and Jun Mo Ran's innovative drama finally reached the important moment of its start. Outside the filming location, a red carpet was laid out, flowers were in full bloom, and people from all walks of life came in droves, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere. However, the two of them were still on edge, as there had been many twists and turns in the early stages of preparation, and no one could guarantee that everything would go smoothly after filming began.

The first rays of morning sunlight shone on the ancient-style gate erected by the film crew, the golden light outlining the mysterious runes on the gate, as if blessing this new journey. The entire crew had assembled early, each wearing uniforms bearing the crew's logo, their eyes brimming with excitement and anticipation. Ling Yichen and Jun Moran stood side-by-side before the group, dressed in simple yet stylish ancient costumes that perfectly matched the drama's style and highlighted their status as key members of the production team.

Ling Yichen took a deep breath, stepped forward, and held aloft the camera model, a must-have for the opening ceremony. His booming voice echoed throughout the venue: "Colleagues, today we gather here to embark on this unprecedented theatrical creation journey. The road ahead has been fraught with hardship, but we have never given up, all for the sake of bringing our dreams to the stage. Now, let us join hands and record this legend with our lenses!" With that, he solemnly unveiled the red silk covering the camera, and thunderous applause erupted from the audience.

Jun Mo Ran then stepped forward, picked up three incense sticks, and devoutly bowed three times to the temporary offering table set up in the center of the venue. On the table were a statue of the ancient god of drama, as well as offerings symbolizing good fortune and a bountiful harvest. She murmured softly, "May the gods bless us, may the filming go smoothly, and may our work amaze the world, passing on the beauty of the past and present." She then inserted the incense into the burner, and wisps of smoke rose, adding a solemn and dignified atmosphere to the entire opening ceremony.

After the ceremony, the first scene of the official filming began—the sacrificial ceremony of an ancient tribe. This scene was grand in scale and involved a large cast of extras. It required both showcasing the awe and piety of people in ancient times towards nature and creating a mysterious and fantastical atmosphere through lighting and special effects, posing a huge challenge to every aspect of the production team.

The assistant director, holding a megaphone, loudly directed hundreds of extras to their respective positions. The extras, dressed in costumes made of animal skins and leaves, their faces painted with tribal totems, and holding simple yet realistic wooden props, strived to recreate the appearance of ancient humans. Some knelt in prayer, others gesticulated wildly, chanting incantations; for a moment, the filming location seemed to have truly transported them back to that mysterious era.

However, the moment the director yelled "Action!", problems arose one after another. First was the lighting. Although a new intelligent lighting system had been selected during pre-production, the open space caused issues with the light coverage. The main light source, intended to illuminate the center of the altar, cast a shadow due to the sunlight, making key areas appear dark and unclear. Xiao Li, the lighting director, was sweating profusely, frantically adjusting parameters at the control panel, but struggling to find the optimal balance.

Meanwhile, the extras, participating in such a large-scale filming for the first time, gradually became nervous. During the performance, some movements lacked coordination and rhythm, ruining the overall aesthetic appeal. The assistant director shouted himself hoarse trying to regain control, but to little avail.

Seeing this, Ling Yichen immediately discussed countermeasures with Jun Moran. Jun Moran suggested, "Let's pause filming for a while and let the extras rest and calm down. At the same time, have the lighting team recalibrate their equipment and replan the lighting scheme based on the current lighting conditions." Ling Yichen nodded in agreement and then gave instructions to the crew.

During a short break, Ling Yichen personally walked to the middle of the extras and said in a gentle yet firm tone, "Don't be nervous, everyone. You've all done a fantastic job today. This is just the beginning. Let's take it slow. Imagine yourself as warriors from ancient times. This ritual is a matter of life and death for the tribe. Relax and unleash your passion." The extras nodded in encouragement, their eyes rekindling with fighting spirit.

On the lighting team's side, with remote guidance from the technical consultant, Xiao Li finally found the problem. It turned out that the sensor's angle setting was incorrect, causing a deviation in the capture and adjustment of light. He quickly adjusted the sensor, reset the lighting parameters, and after testing, the lighting effect met expectations.

Filming resumed, and the situation had clearly improved. The extras were more engaged, their movements synchronized and powerful, their shouts deafening; the lighting precisely illuminated every key area, the interplay of light and shadow creating a mysterious and solemn atmosphere. The director watched the footage on the monitor, nodded in satisfaction, and the first scene was finally filmed successfully.

Before everyone could even catch their breath, a new challenge quietly arrived. Actor Xiao Shen ran into trouble while filming the protagonist's solo close-up shots. Xiao Shen was a newcomer; although he had shown amazing potential during the auditions, his performance became somewhat stiff under the pressure of the camera and the set. Especially when portraying the protagonist's inner struggle and determination in the face of the tribal crisis, his eyes consistently lacked the right depth, and even after multiple takes, he still couldn't meet the director's requirements.

Ling Yichen realized the seriousness of the problem. He went to Xiao Shen's side and patiently explained the character's inner world to him: "You have to imagine yourself as that hero shouldering a heavy responsibility, every look in your eyes carrying the hopes of your people. When you look into the distance, your eyes should show fear of the unknown, but even more so, the determination to overcome difficulties. Don't deliberately act; let your emotions flow naturally." Xiao Shen listened to Ling Yichen's guidance, closed his eyes, took a few deep breaths, and tried to adjust his state.
