Chapter 133 New Challenges and Hopes in Post-Production

As filming progressed, the crew finally entered the post-production stage. However, this did not mean the end of the hardships and obstacles. During this crucial period, new challenges, like undercurrents, quietly awaited Ling Yichen, Jun Mo Ran, and the entire crew.

When filming reached a scene requiring location on a mountaintop, the entire crew carried heavy equipment, trudging along a winding and rugged mountain path. The path was steep, and some sections were muddy due to recent rains, making every step arduous. Xiao Zhang, a crew member responsible for carrying lighting equipment, slipped and fell to the ground along with the equipment. While Xiao Zhang was unharmed, the equipment sustained some damage from the impact.

Seeing this, Ling Yichen immediately went over to check on the situation. He helped Xiao Zhang up and asked with concern, "How are you? Are you alright? Is the equipment still usable?" Xiao Zhang looked guilty and, after checking the equipment, said, "Director Ling, I'm fine, but a key part of this equipment seems to be loose. I don't know if it will affect the filming." Ling Yichen frowned. He knew that in such a filming environment, equipment problems could lead to a series of chain reactions.

Jun Mo Ran also rushed over. After looking at the equipment and pondering for a moment, she said, "Don't worry, let's find the technicians to see if we can fix it on the spot. If that doesn't work, we'll think of other solutions." The crew's technicians quickly gathered around. After a tense inspection and debugging, although they temporarily restored the equipment to operation, the technicians said that this was only a temporary measure and the equipment could malfunction again at any time.

With trepidation, the group continued their ascent to the summit, finally arriving at the designated filming location. The scenery here was magnificent; the mist-shrouded peaks perfectly matched the ancient fairyland described in the script, making it an ideal filming setting. However, just as everyone was ready and the director yelled "Action!", another problem arose. Due to the strong winds at the summit, props and sets were frequently blown about, resulting in highly unstable footage.

The director shook his head helplessly and called for another halt to filming. Ling Yichen looked at the scene before him, his heart filled with anxiety. After discussing with Jun Mo Ran, he decided to have the crew find some heavy objects to secure the props and sets, while adjusting the shooting angles to minimize the impact of the wind on the filming. After some effort, filming was finally able to continue.

However, just halfway through filming, dark clouds suddenly gathered in the sky, and a downpour was imminent. The crew looked up at the sky, their faces showing panic. Ling Yichen made a decisive decision, ordering everyone to quickly pack up their equipment and find shelter from the storm. The crew frantically carried the equipment and props down the mountain and took refuge in a nearby cave.

Inside the cave, everyone sat together, the atmosphere heavy and oppressive. Ling Yichen looked out at the torrential rain, thinking to himself: This downpour might last forever, and the filming schedule would be delayed again. Moreover, the equipment was at risk of damage in such a damp environment.

Just then, the screenwriter, Xiao Li, suddenly suggested, "Director Ling, Sister Mo Ran, since we're trapped here, why don't we use this time to discuss some details of the script? I think some plot points could be optimized, which might make the whole drama even more outstanding." Ling Yichen and Jun Mo Ran exchanged a glance and thought the suggestion was good. Thus, a heated discussion about the script ensued in the cave.

During the discussion, everyone shared their opinions, conducting in-depth analysis and discussion of some plot points and character settings in the script. Jun Mo Ran proposed a bold idea: she believed that a plot about betrayal in friendship could be added to the protagonist's growth process, which would make the protagonist's character more well-rounded and their emotions more complex. This idea was unanimously approved by everyone.

After several hours of discussion, some details of the script were refined. Meanwhile, the torrential rain outside gradually subsided. The crew emerged from the cave, preparing to return to the filming location. However, when they reached the mountaintop, they discovered that the previously set up scene had been completely destroyed by the downpour.

Faced with this situation, everyone felt incredibly frustrated. But Ling Yichen didn't give up. He encouraged everyone, saying, "Don't be discouraged. We've overcome so many difficulties before, and we can definitely do it this time too. Let's rearrange the scenes, speed up the filming, and try to make up for the lost time." Encouraged by Ling Yichen, the crew rallied and began the intensive work of restoring the scenes.

With everyone's concerted efforts, the set was finally rearranged. Filming resumed, and this time everything went relatively smoothly. However, after filming was completed, a new problem arose when the crew prepared to take the footage back to the base for post-production. Due to the rugged mountain roads, a tire suddenly blew out while driving, preventing the footage from being transported back in time.

Ling Yichen and Jun Moran looked at their vehicle with a flat tire, feeling helpless. However, they quickly calmed down and began to think of solutions. Jun Moran contacted a nearby roadside assistance company by phone, requesting that they send someone to change the tire as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Ling Yichen arranged for staff to set up warning signs around the vehicle to ensure the safety of the footage being filmed.

While awaiting rescue, Ling Yichen and Jun Mozhan began to think about post-production. They knew that post-production was crucial to the success of a drama. Although some problems with shots and special effects had been discovered during filming and initial adjustments had been made, more meticulous polishing was needed in post-production.
