"Does that mean they swindled you into contributing money and effort?" Qin Jinfang quickly pressed on.
"Swindled? You mean, I’ve been deceived by Mr. Qin and Madam Qin?" Old Man Gu demanded.
"Yes, swindled! Sir, you must not be conned by my older brother and sister-in-law! Everyone in Huacheng City knows how much of a pitfall this project is; no one wants to invest, as any amount of money dumped there is just like throwing it away!"
Qin Jinfang hastily filled Old Man Gu in on the extent of the scam with the unfinished buildings in the Northwest.
Old Man Gu squinted at Qin Jinfang, his gaze full of scrutiny.
