Chapter 116 Feeling Drowsy

"Weiwei, I steamed a bowl of egg custard for you. Eat it first and then go back to rest. I'll cook lunch." Seeing that the little girl was drowsy, Lu Qingfeng quickly put the egg custard he had just taken out of the pot into her hand, telling her to eat it first and then go back to rest.

"Brother, give this to Yueyue. I'm so sleepy, I won't eat it. Don't ask me to eat lunch either." He Caiwei said, and started to float away. She really felt like she was floating.

Lu Qingfeng reluctantly placed the steamed egg custard in front of Qingyue and reached out to help her back to her room. She was really afraid that she might fall if she walked so lightly.

After Lu Qingfeng helped him back, he came back to think about what to make for lunch. His aunt needed to eat something nutritious. He remembered that when his mother gave birth to Xiaoyue, Aunt Chen made crucian carp soup and stewed pig's feet.

Looking around, I saw several chickens, several pig's feet, and about ten crucian carp swimming in the water tank.

He reached out and scooped up a fish, added some warm water, gutted the fish, and put it in the water. He then fried the fish in oil, added ginger slices, and boiled it to make soup. The soup for his mother only had a tiny bit of salt in it, so he couldn't taste any salt at all. Therefore, he didn't dare to add any more salt and just let the soup simmer for the time being.

Weiwei had some leftover broth from cooking noodles last night, so she decided to make cornmeal dumpling soup for lunch today.

The old man also stayed up late last night and is resting now. He only woke up because of the aroma.

"Oh dear, it's Qingfeng cooking today. You've worked hard, you've worked hard." The old man walked into the kitchen with a smile and saw Lu Qingfeng ladling cornmeal dumpling soup into a porcelain basin.

"Grandpa, come and eat. I don't know how to make the porridge here, so I just made some cornmeal dumpling soup for lunch. I also made some crucian carp soup for my aunt. We'll add some white noodles to the crucian carp soup later. Would you like to try some, Grandpa?" Lu Qingfeng smiled at the old man and urged him to come and eat.

"Alright, alright, Grandpa, try your cooking." The old man sat at the dining table, eating the cornmeal dumpling soup that Lu Qingfeng had ladled for him.

"Dad, why are you already eating? You were thinking of coming out to cook." Lu Zhiheng came out of his room to check the time and prepare to cook, but he saw that the old man was already eating.

"Qingfeng's dumpling soup tastes really good. Sit down and have some first. There's fish stewing over there. I'll make some noodles for my daughter later. You can put the pig's trotters in to stew later, and we can have them for dinner tonight. No salt, you know?" One noodle soup didn't seem like much, so I planned to stew the pig's trotters tonight. With two kids, that's definitely not enough food.

"I understand, Dad." Lu Zhiheng was thinking of making some meat porridge tonight. His wife's meals were different from theirs; they were all unsalted.

"Qingfeng, where's Weiwei? Why didn't she come out to eat?" Lu Zhiheng had just picked up his bowl when he noticed that the girl hadn't come out to eat.

"Uncle, Weiwei said she's sleepy and doesn't want to be woken up for lunch. She said she'll eat when she wakes up on her own. Don't worry, Uncle, I left some soup in the pot for her. I'll make her some noodles when she wakes up," Lu Qingfeng quickly explained.

Not only did Weiwei not come out to eat, but even her silly younger brother, who stayed up for an hour last night, is still not up.

"Okay, I understand. You go eat first, and then rest. You've been busy since last night. You can prepare the rice for your aunt, and I'll cook it myself. Dad, I'll leave Qingyue in your care." Lu Zhiheng knew that his nephew had also been busy since last night and hadn't rested yet, so he entrusted his little niece to his father's care so that his nephew could get some rest.

"I'm not tired, Uncle." Lu Qingfeng was still thinking about making noodles for the little girl later. If he went to sleep, he wouldn't know when she woke up.

"Listen to me, you stayed up all night too, go and get some rest." Lu Zhiheng didn't give him a chance to refuse, he took the empty bowl from his hand and pushed him out.

"Alright, Uncle, let go, I'll walk by myself." Lu Qingfeng had no choice but to follow his uncle's lead and walk out.

He Caiwei slept straight through until it was almost time to prepare dinner. When she came out, she saw the old man accompanying Qingyue in the main room, using an abacus.

The abacus was an old item belonging to the old man, which he used to teach her. Right now, the old man is teaching Qingyue how to use the abacus.

"Grandpa, have you had dinner yet?" It gets dark early in winter, and it's only a little past 4 pm now, but it's already getting dark, so He Caiwei, who hadn't checked her watch, thought it was quite late.

"It's only four o'clock and we haven't made it yet. What would you like to eat? Grandpa will make it for you." The old man never refused his beloved grandson's requests.

"It's okay, I'll go make it. I can smell the stewed pig's trotters. I'll cook it in a bit." He Caiwei rolled up her sleeves and walked out.

She knew that Lu Qingfeng and his siblings were more used to noodles, buns, and steamed bread, so she planned to prepare some dough before cooking tonight so she could use it to steam buns or steamed bread later.

The family members always assume that the best food is reserved for her mother when they cook, so they can't expect to make anything of value if they ask them to cook. She has to do it herself.

"Goodness, how about I go see if there are any steamed buns at the breakfast shop and we can buy some? I noticed that Qingfeng and his siblings are eating rice, and they don't seem to like it very much." The old man had also noticed that the children weren't eating much at mealtimes.

"They can eat without noodles. I'll make braised noodles tonight, and knead some more dough to let it rise. We'll steam buns and rolls tonight." He Caiwei went to the kitchen and found that there was still a lot of flour. They hadn't touched the pork much, except for two pig trotters stewing in it.

He Caiwei first took out the pork, cut it into small pieces, added some scallion and ginger water, along with some seasonings and a few drops of water from her spatial storage. After stirring it, she set it aside to marinate.

I found a large cabbage and a carrot in the space, shredded them, and set them aside.

After kneading the dough, start cooking the vegetables. The vegetables to be wrapped in the buns need to be cooked and seasoned before being wrapped in. Pork does not need to be cooked first; just marinate it and wrap it directly in the buns.

I stir-fried some green beans, added a little pickled green beans and some shredded meat, and set them aside for later use. I'll cook them after everyone wakes up so the noodles don't absorb all the broth at once.

He Caiwei steamed white rice, a fish, and a large bowl of stewed pig's trotters for her mother and moved them into her mother's room.

Of course, the pig's trotter soup contained water from the space, which helped to heal her body more quickly.

"Mother, I'm coming in."

"Sweetie, did you go to rest this afternoon? Did you eat by yourself?" He Yuping saw her daughter and noticed that he still had some dark circles under his eyes, so she was worried that he wasn't getting enough rest.
