Let me say first, there are only five chapters today.
Because I spent the whole day yesterday thinking about the plot of the next volume, and just coming up with the general idea exhausted my brain, leaving me with no energy left to write.

The following is the summary text:
After two months, I finally finished writing the Beijing volume of nearly 700,000 words. I can now breathe a sigh of relief.
There probably won’t be such a long volume in the future…right?
I had anticipated that this volume would be difficult to write.
Because this is the capital volume (serious face), as the saying goes, storms from all directions will gather in Zhongzhou, and all forces will appear in the capital, and all kinds of contradictions must be revealed, either openly or secretly.
If there is no explanation or foreshadowing in the beginning, and a terrible force suddenly appears in the middle, the readers will laugh at you.
Moreover, after writing around one million words, what Mr. Zhao wanted to do, the route he wanted to take, and the views he wanted to uphold must also be explained one by one, in detail or briefly.
If there is no explanation or foreshadowing in the beginning, and if you suddenly shout in the middle that you want to go to sea or start a revolution, you will be laughed at by readers.
Furthermore, the main characters who should appear must also be brought out to show their faces, either as the main character or as a secondary character.
If there was no explanation or foreshadowing in the beginning, and a heroine suddenly appeared in the middle... I guess the readers would be very happy.
Well, there are still many characters that haven't appeared in this book. The next volume will be a new version of the ship that you haven't played before.
So, Zhao Hao and his father came to Beijing with so many tasks, and the Beijing volume also had a huge problem, that is, it had no natural main line! Ah! Ah! Ah!
The main plot of the Nanjing paper is that the father and son escape poverty and become rich, the son completes the primitive accumulation, and the father passes the imperial examination. All people and things are written around these two plots. In addition, at the beginning of the story, there are not so many characters and tasks, so the rhythm is naturally brisk and the pace is light, and the writing is extremely concise.
But what is there in the Beijing test? Zhao Shouzheng passed the imperial examination? That is not a line, but a point. The love story between the biological father and the godmother? That is not the main line.
What should our Mr. Zhao do? Stay at home every day?
With all the above problems piled up, how can you still write something interesting and fascinating?
OMG, it’s so hard for me to write a book!
Therefore, the Capital Volume is destined to be a very special one. One can imagine the monk’s mood when he started writing it.
That's just charging headfirst...
To be honest, the monk who wrote this volume was extremely tired. His mind went blank countless times, and he faced the screen for half a day countless times without being able to write a single word.
It was everyone’s strong support and my family’s understanding and consideration that allowed me to persevere.
Don’t know what to write every day? Can’t think of an interesting plot? Then think hard.
One chapter takes too much time. Five chapters a day means no time to sleep? Then don't sleep.
Finally, after much hard work, I finished this volume satisfactorily.
Looking back at this volume, all the tasks that needed to be completed have been completed, several successful characters have been created, and the story is told in an interesting and vivid way. Considering the difficulty of this volume, I think it can score 90 points.
Of course there are some areas that I am not satisfied with, mainly starting from the imperial examination. The addition of the reverse Xu line makes the story suddenly more tense.
This is of course a good thing, and it makes the story interesting. But it does not fully fit in with the important task of this volume - to build the overall structure of the story and set the tone for the whole book.
If the story is divided into two parallel narrative lines, it will dilute the main plot and add too many cumbersome plots. If it is written in that way, it is estimated that this volume will exceed 800,000 words.
In order to maintain the continuity of the story, I did not switch the narrative line until Lord Xu retired, Master Zhao was carried home, and Zhao Hao was about to leave Beijing, and then I concentrated on explaining everything that needed to be explained.
This is where the problem arises. This results in Mr. Zhao changing scenes like a revolving lantern in the few days before he leaves Beijing. Naturally, it is impossible to tell the story in a coherent way, and the gags will drag out the length of this section. So this is the only way to deal with it.
It's really nice to be able to do it, but it makes you sad afterwards.
Fortunately, all the tasks have been completed, the stage has been set, and the next few volumes will be much easier to write.
In addition, I spent the day yesterday conceiving a new volume. Although I only have a general idea, the long-lost sense of lightness is back!
The main plot is so natural and easy to write that the monk couldn't help but burst into tears.
I hope the Suzhou paper can be more exciting and more popular with everyone.
By the way, I'll update at 8 o'clock from now on. Although 12 o'clock is friendly to me, it is not friendly to readers...
That's all. Please give me a monthly ticket or a subscription!
