Mu Lige stayed at the Hua family for a while, and when he was about to leave, he was stopped by Hua's father.
"Li Ge, wait a moment, I'll pack up and I'll go back with you later."
Ye Maochun quickly found a sack, went back to the kitchen and filled it with ten kilograms of rice, and then filled a small cloth bag with some flour and put that in. Then he went to the chicken coop in the yard and took out seven or eight eggs, wrapped them in a piece of cloth, and placed them on top of the sack.
After finishing his work in the kitchen, he ran back to his room and took out a piece of light red cotton cloth and a piece of blue coarse cloth.
"Li Ge, take this piece of red cloth and make two sets of clothes for Qingcheng. The other blue piece is for you. I will go to the market tomorrow and buy a few feet of cloth for each of your three younger brothers to make clothes."
Mu Lige looked at Hua's father who had taken a bunch of things and said quickly, "Dad, you and Mom can keep them for yourselves. We have enough food and clothing at home now."
"You kid, are you still being polite to your father?"
Hua Rongsheng also pretended to be angry and said, "I told you to take it, so take it. We can't use it here. Old man, take the pickled meat from the kitchen with you later so it doesn't take up space there."
Mu Lige looked at his busy father and his soft-hearted mother, and his heart softened slightly, his lips curling up. Over the past six years, he had experienced the rare feeling of having both a mother's love and a father's affection through them.
When Mu Lige left the Hua family's old house, he was holding an earthenware jar. When he came back, he was holding pork in his left hand and a sack in his right hand. Behind him was Hua's father Ye Maochun, who was holding two pieces of cloth.
"Wife, I'm back! Look, who's here?"
Hua Qingcheng, who had finished eating noodles in the main hall, looked towards the door after hearing the sound. She immediately saw a middle-aged man walking out from behind Mu Lige. He was dressed in a dark blue, coarse cloth gown, his hair neatly combed and held in place with a wooden hairpin. His eyes were slightly red, and his face looked haggard.
Could it be the original owner’s father?
Just as Hua Qingcheng was wondering, the man quickly stepped forward and hugged her.
"My poor daughter! You have suffered so much over the years!"
As he spoke, Ye Maochun began to sob again.
"father?!"
Hua Qingcheng exclaimed a little awkwardly. After all, she had grown up in an orphanage in the 22nd century, and she really didn't know how to get along with the original owner's parents.
"Hey! Good, good girl! My Qingcheng has grown up and become sensible!"
Ye Maochun looked at his daughter, who had washed off her heavy makeup and looked pretty, with surprise for a while. He hugged her and cried for a while before stopping.
"Meet father!"
When Situ Ye, Han Yichen and Yu Xiaotian saw Hua's father Ye Maochun coming, they hurried forward to greet him.
"Good! Good! Good! You are all good children! You have suffered a lot following Qingcheng all these years."
"Li Ge, put those things in order and come over early. I want to talk to Qingcheng first."
"Okay, Dad."
Upon hearing this, Mu Lige took the sack to the kitchen, took out the rice, flour, and eggs, and placed them in order. He also put the meat into the jar to marinate. Then he went back to the main room and brought the cloth back to his room to cut it when he was free.
When he finished his work and returned to the main room, Hua's father was sitting on the only stool, Hua Qingcheng was standing beside him, and his three younger brothers were standing on both sides of the table listening to their conversation.
Looking at his daughter's empty home, Hua's father felt very sad. Fortunately, his daughter has now realized her mistake and decided to work hard. Life will get better and better in the future.
"Dad, wife, drink some water!"
Mu Lige brought over two glasses of water. Hua's father took the glasses and nodded with satisfaction.
"Li Ge, you've been married for six years, and you're already nineteen this year. The couples your age in the village already have children everywhere. It's time for you to have a child too!"
"Giving birth early means your body will recover sooner. If you get older, it will be harder to give birth."
Hua's father didn't mind Mu Lige being too old and childless; he was simply worried about him. Furthermore, as the legal husband, his position would be unstable if he didn't have children.
"Dad, what are you talking about! I'm still young and don't want to have children yet."
Hua Qingcheng was speechless. This man truly was her biological father, urging her to have a child the moment they first met. She was still young. The original owner's body was only sixteen, which would have been a high school student at most in modern times. She didn't want to have a child so early.
"You idiot! If you're not in a hurry, then you should also think about Li Ge! He's already nineteen years old this year, and it will be difficult to give birth any later."
Ye Maochun patted his daughter's head and scolded her.
"Silang is fifteen now, so we can wait a year or two, but Erlang is already eighteen, and Sanlang is seventeen, so it's not good to delay any longer. While I'm still in good health, let each of them have one child, and I can help you raise them."
"Puff~"
Upon hearing this, Hua Qingcheng spat out all the water in her mouth.
“Cough cough cough…”
Is that what she meant? Could it be that she misunderstood the original owner's father's meaning? The people he mentioned about having children as soon as possible were referring to the original owner's husbands, not her.
Hua Qingcheng felt that this world was a fantasy! She had finally accepted that roosters lay eggs, but now her father told her that men can give birth to children.
It would be nice not to have to bear children, she wouldn't have to endure the pain of pregnancy or childbirth. But she's not a stud, so why would she have children with a bunch of men...
This, this, this...
"Dad, look at what you said. I know how to handle this matter."
Hua Qingcheng's face flushed red, and she was so embarrassed by what her father said.
Mu Lige glanced furtively at Hua Qingcheng. He hadn't considered this question before, but now, it wasn't impossible... It was just that his wife seemed completely clueless. They'd never slept together, so how could they have a child?
