Chapter 2: Finding the Children

Taking advantage of the pitch-black night, when Hua Qingcheng was about to use the Flying Tiger Claw to jump over the wall and leap into Xiangyang Temple, she felt her whole body suddenly become lighter.

Just when Hua Qingcheng was about to say something, Wu Chen first blocked her mouth with his lips. After flying into the temple, he made a gesture to Hua Qingcheng to keep quiet.

Hua Qingcheng: ...

(As expected of the Sixth Brother! Even taking advantage of others is so legitimate...)

Situ Ye: ...

(I learned that! But I’m so angry! Why didn’t I think of that just now…)

Seeing this, Xiaobai also murmured a few words of "Awoo, awoo". (Luckily, I have a wife now, even though we are still not grown up...)

After entering Xiangyang Temple, the three men and two tigers took advantage of the cover of darkness to avoid the eyes and ears of the patrolling Taoist priests in the temple and quickly found the location of the big kitchen.

Following Ermao's words, Hua Qingcheng and the other two searched the kitchen for a long time. After about a cup of tea, Hua Qingcheng finally found the secret in a large wooden cabinet against the wall that was used to store dishes and chopsticks.

"Aye, Hua Heshang, come here quickly! There's a bowl here that I can't lift."

Hua Qingcheng first raised her hand and turned the bowl in the wooden cabinet clockwise. Seeing no response, she turned it counterclockwise. With a rumbling sound, the entrance to a secret passage appeared on the ground.

“It’s here!”

As the secret passage opened, Xiaobai took the lead and jumped down.

"Aye, Hua Heshang, let's go! We'll follow too!"

The three of them quickly descended the stairs into the secret passage. The dim light inside the passage was dim, and as the wind blew in from outside, it cast swaying shadows, making it look extremely eerie and terrifying.

Since there was no outsider around, Hua Qingcheng casually took out a high-intensity flashlight from the space, and the originally dark secret passage suddenly became bright.

After walking for a while in the secret passage, Hua Qingcheng and her group soon arrived at two forked roads. Looking at the two wooden signs at the fork in the road, which read "Melon Field" and "Plum Blossoms," Hua Qingcheng didn't have time to think before Xiaobai led them towards the secret passage to the "Melon Field."

"It seems Xiaobai has discovered something."

Knowing that Xiaobai would not act without a purpose, Hua Qingcheng, Situ Ye and Wu Chen followed Xiaobai's footsteps and finally arrived at the door of two stone chambers side by side.

But there was a stone dragon coiled on the door of the two stone chambers, and a wooden sign was hung on the door, with "melon" and "bitter melon" written on them respectively.

“Awoo, awoo…”

Xiaobai smelled the blood on both sides, raised his front paw and pointed at the "melon" secret room on the left, and then pointed at the "bitter melon" secret room on the right.

"It seems that this is the secret room where children are imprisoned..."

Hua Qingcheng suppressed the anger in her heart and worked with Situ Ye to find the mechanism to open the two secret rooms on the stone dragons.

"Good sister, there's no need to go through so much trouble!"

After pulling Hua Qingcheng, who was still fumbling with the stone dragon, aside, Wuchen, dressed in a white monk's robe, stood at the doorway to the stone chamber. He first clasped his hands together, then rotated them, gathering his internal energy and concentrating it in his palms before striking the stone door with a swift blow.

With a loud "boom" sound, the door of the stone chamber immediately shattered.

Hua Qingcheng and Situ Ye, who was still groping for the switch on the stone dragon next door, couldn't help but twitch their lips when they saw this.

(Hua Qingcheng: As expected of the sixth brother!)

(Situ Ye: The best martial arts in the world come from Tianlong! Tianlong Temple is indeed worthy of its reputation!)

"Qingcheng, there are no children. There are only three Taoist priests who died not long ago in this secret room. Seeing that their bodies are covered with blue and purple bruises, they must have been beaten before and after death. Moreover, judging from their corpses, they should have been dead for no more than an hour." Situ Ye said sternly after checking the Taoist priests' death.

"It seems that it was Dan Zuo who did it. I just don't know whether the children have escaped or are still locked in another secret room..." Hua Qingcheng had a gloomy face, and was very worried about the children whose lives and deaths were in danger.

"Second brother, please make way!"

After Wu Chen pulled Situ Ye aside, he immediately used his internal energy again. There was a loud "boom" and the door of the "Bitter Melon" secret room shattered.

"Ugh~"

Even though Hua Qingcheng, Situ Ye and Wu Chen had seen a lot of bloody things, when they saw the Taoist priests' bodies lying all over the place in the ice room and the piles of dismembered corpses that smelled of blood, they couldn't help but feel nauseous.

"Qingcheng, these dozen or so Taoists were either beaten to death by blunt objects or hit in the vital points and fell to the ground and died. Moreover, most of them had their hands and feet tied. Judging from the way they died, it must have been done by children." After carefully examining the bodies of the Taoists in the secret room, Situ Ye said solemnly.

"Walk!"

"It seems that Zuo has already escaped the secret room with the captured children. I don't know where they are hiding now. We must find them as soon as possible, otherwise if the Taoist priests from Xiangyang Temple find them first, they will be in danger."

Hua Qingcheng said as she walked out of the secret room, and then ran quickly towards the exit along the secret passage. Seeing this, Situ Ye and Wu Chen hurried to catch up, and Xiaobai, carrying Hongfu, followed closely behind.

After exiting the secret passage, the three men and two tigers quickly returned to the kitchen. As if she had thought of something, Hua Qingcheng immediately pulled out the honeycomb Han Yichen had given her from her space.

Hua Qingcheng shook the beehive in her hand, and then a group of guide bees flew out of it.

"It's up to you! Look where Zuo is."

But after the group of guide bees flew out of the hive, they flapped their wings and flew towards the outside of the kitchen with a "buzzing" sound.

Hua Qingcheng, Situ Ye, Wu Chen, and the two tigers quickly followed.
