Chapter 2: God King Showdown

Xingyue stared at Dongming quietly. Her expression, as cold as an iceberg, began to slowly melt, gradually revealing a hint of tenderness. Her eyes became deep and hazy, as if drawn by an invisible force, and she couldn't help but fall into memories.

"God of Light, I... seem to remember something..." Xingyue paused, trying to sort out her thoughts, but the memories were as blurry and fragmented as fragments, leaving her feeling confused and lost. "But it's not clear enough..." She sighed softly, her brow furrowed slightly, trying to grasp those fleeting images.

Seeing Xingyue in such pain, Dongming felt a pang of pain in his heart. He couldn't bear to see her suffer from forcing herself to search for lost memories, so he gently comforted her, "Xingyue, don't worry, take your time. I believe that one day, you will be able to recover all your memories and become your whole self again."

However, at this moment, Qianye, who had been silent the entire time, suddenly spoke. His tone was icy cold, revealing a chilling majesty: "Xingyue, follow me back to the Dark Temple! That is where you belong. Don't waste any more time here."

Hearing Qianye's words, Xingyue couldn't help but hesitate. She turned her head and looked at Qianye with a complicated expression, then returned her gaze to Dongming. At this moment, her heart was filled with contradictions and struggles, unsure of whose orders to follow.

Seeing this, Dong Ming hurried forward, grabbed Xingyue's hand, and said anxiously: "Xingyue, you must not go with him! He has been deceiving you. You are not a member of the Dark Temple at all. The place where you truly belong is the Temple of Light! Only by returning to us can you find your true self and gain liberation and peace." His words were firm and powerful, full of concern for Xingyue.

Qianye's eyes instantly became extremely cold, as if they could freeze the air around them. He stared at Dongming intently and said sternly, "Dongming, don't be so arrogant!" Before he finished speaking, a powerful aura as heavy as a mountain and as turbulent as a raging wave suddenly gushed out from his body, sweeping around like an invisible storm.

Faced with such terrifying pressure, Dong Ming had no intention of retreating. He looked at Qian Ye fearlessly, with a firm light flashing in his eyes, and said in a deep voice: "I will never let you take Xingyue away!" His words were firm and there was no room for negotiation.

At this moment, Xingyue's heart felt like a tangled mess of thousands of threads. On the one hand, Qianye was her master, holding absolute authority over her; on the other, she harbored a fondness for Dongming, a love she found difficult to part with. She was caught in a sea of conflict and entanglement, completely at a loss as to what to do.

Just as Xingyue was feeling torn, a mysterious, almost imperceptible voice suddenly rang out in her ear, like a ghost: "Xingyue, listen to the truest voice in your heart..." This voice seemed to possess some kind of magical power, causing Xingyue's entire body to tremble violently. In that instant, she felt as if she had suddenly realized what she truly wanted.

Xingyue slowly turned her head and looked straight at Qianye, her eyes revealing an unprecedented determination. She said slowly, "God King Qianye, please forgive me for not being able to return with you for the time being. Xingyue longs to regain those lost memories, and I beg you to grant me this."

Hearing this, Qianye's face instantly turned gloomy and ugly. He had never expected that Xingyue, who had always been docile and obedient, would openly defy his will.

Qianye gritted his teeth, suppressing the rage within him. He glared at Xingyue fiercely, then, after uttering a cold, harsh remark, turned and left without a backward glance. His receding figure seemed particularly resolute, tinged with endless anger and disappointment. "Xingyue, one day, you will regret your actions today!"

Watching Qianye's figure gradually recede until it vanished completely, Xingyue's heart felt as if torn by an invisible force, and an indescribable subtle feeling welled up in her. It was like a stream of crystal-clear spring water, slowly flowing through her heart, yet it was also tinged with a faint trace of bitterness and confusion.

Dong Ming stood quietly by, his deep, intelligent eyes gazing at Xingyue, as if he could read her innermost thoughts. He saw the uneasiness and confusion flickering in her eyes, and he gently raised his hand, as if protecting a precious treasure, and carefully placed his palm on Xingyue's slightly frail shoulder. His movements were as gentle as a breeze across the lake, fearing to disturb the woman who had lost her memory.

"Xingyue, you don't have to worry." Dong Ming's voice was low and gentle, as sweet as the sound of nature. His words were filled with endless care and comfort, which warmed people's hearts. "I will do my best to help you recover your lost memories and solve the mystery that has troubled you. No matter how difficult the road ahead, I will walk side by side with you."

Xingyue shook her head slightly, trying to dispel the thick fog of chaos in her mind. She bit her lip tightly, trying to keep herself awake.

Then, Xingyue raised her head and looked at Dongming with a determined gaze. She said in a firm tone, "God King Dongming, I thank you for your kindness, but until I have regained my complete memories and figured out who I really am, Xingyue will never return to the Dark Temple, nor will I easily follow you to the Light Temple. Because only when I truly understand my life experience and past can I make the right choice."
