"Qingcheng, are you okay?"
After leaving the clothing shop, Situ Ye took the bag from Hua Qingcheng and slung it over his shoulder. The three of them walked towards the Yingbin Restaurant.
"It's okay. Um... Erlang, don't drink so much juice at once next time. Although it can detoxify and beautify the skin, your body may not be able to bear it if you drink too much at once." It was really terrible. Her legs were still a little weak now.
"Uh, I know...I know."
Upon hearing this, Situ Ye's resolute face couldn't help but blush slightly, though because of his wheat-colored skin, it wasn't noticeable. He had been so focused on competing with Si Chengfeng that he hadn't considered whether Hua Qingcheng would feel any discomfort from drinking so much juice all at once...
"Kind brother, please give me two cents to buy a bun! I haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning..."
As he was walking, Si Chengfeng suddenly heard a familiar voice. Looking in the direction of the voice, he saw a little beggar begging from a passing man on the side of the road ahead.
But after the man threw two cents to him, the little beggar pretended to fall accidentally and touched the man's waist so quickly that no one noticed.
The little beggar nodded and bowed to apologize. After the man left, he changed his target and continued to beg from the next passerby.
"Chengfeng, what's wrong with you?" Seeing Si Chengfeng suddenly stop, Hua Qingcheng asked with concern.
"Qingcheng, Second Brother Situ, look, that's the little beggar who bumped into me at the door of Yingbin Restaurant. He just stole several thousand taels of silver notes from me!" Si Chengfeng narrowed his fox eyes and watched the performance of the little beggar in front of him with interest.
Hearing that Si Chengfeng had been robbed of several thousand taels of silver, Hua Qingcheng couldn't help but frown. After all, this wasn't just a few coins, but thousands of taels of silver! So, she and Situ Ye looked in the direction of Si Chengfeng's finger.
"Kind auntie, please give me two cents to buy a bun! I haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning..."
The little beggar was wearing a ragged black shirt, with unkempt hair and dirty face, and two tattered cloth shoes with exposed toes. This miserable appearance, coupled with his thin body, at least from the outside, he was indeed miserable.
Si Chengfeng narrowed his charming and seductive fox eyes and watched the little beggar use the same method again to beg two cents from a fat woman passing by and take a purse from her.
After the fat woman left, the disheveled little beggar continued to target a kind-looking middle-aged man.
"Kind uncle, please give me two cents to buy a bun! I haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning..." The little beggar continued to look pitiful.
"Go away, where did you come from, little beggar? You're so dirty, don't get my clothes dirty. Get out of here right now!"
The middle-aged man, who looked kind, saw the little beggar and immediately shouted at him with an unhappy face, "Stay away from me!" and pushed the little beggar. He was wearing a brand new silk dress, and the little beggar was so dirty that he didn't want to dirty his new clothes.
"Ouch!" The little beggar who fell to the ground quickly got up and pounced on the middle-aged man again.
As the middle-aged man cursed, the little beggar quickly stole a purse from his waist, and just like before, he used a rag bag in his hand as a cover to quickly put the stolen purse into his arms.
"How is it, Qingcheng?"
Even Si Chengfeng, who was as cunning as a fox, couldn't help but admire the acting skills of this little beggar. He never thought that one day he would fall into the hands of a little beggar.
"Judging from his skillful techniques, he must have stolen hundreds or even thousands of times," Hua Qingcheng said coldly, his face darkening slightly. The little beggar looked only eight or nine years old, yet he was already a skilled and habitual thief.
"I'm afraid someone has trained him behind the scenes. He has just stolen a lot of money bags, and I'm afraid he can't put all of them on him. Let's follow him and see where he puts the stolen goods. Maybe we can follow the clues and find out who is behind this." Situ Ye had just seen the little beggar's actions clearly.
"That's right. It's most likely a gang of thieves who specialize in roaming around and committing crimes, or it could be... children abducted by human traffickers, who were beaten and controlled, and forced to go out and steal." Hua Qingcheng had seen many such cases in her previous life where people used children to gain sympathy and then commit theft or fraud.
So, Hua Qingcheng and the other two followed the little beggar at a distance. As Situ Ye had said, the little beggar was already carrying a lot of stolen goods, so it was no longer convenient for him to continue committing crimes. Hua Qingcheng and the others followed the little beggar through many twists and turns, and finally arrived at a secluded alley.
“Knock knock knock~”
The little beggar first looked around furtively before going forward and knocking on a slightly worn wooden door.
"Mom, I'm back!" the little beggar called timidly at the door.
"Hold, shout, shout, call for your soul! You money-losing bastard, where have you been again? It's already so late, and you're just coming back now!" Following the little beggar's knocking on the door and shouting, a very fierce voice came from inside.
Then Hua Qingcheng saw the broken wooden door creak open, and a fat woman wearing gold and silver jewelry and with a face full of flesh suddenly came into the sight of Hua Qingcheng and others.
"How was your business today?" The fat woman glared at the little beggar with her eyes wide open and pinched his face hard.
"They're all...here!" The little beggar took out one purse after another from his pocket and handed them to the fat woman, a total of five or six.
