Situ Xuanye?
Guard B felt the name sounded strangely familiar, and upon closer inspection, the man before her bore a striking resemblance to the Prime Minister. Thinking of this, she was startled.
Although they both came to the Prime Minister's Mansion to take up their posts only last year, they still knew the name of the Prime Minister's eldest son, Situ Xuanye.
Although discussing the eldest son was taboo within the palace, the two women had heard a little about Situ Xuanye. Regarding the eldest son, the prime minister's explanation to the public was that he had left the capital to recuperate three years ago due to illness, but in reality, he had run away from home because he was dissatisfied with his marriage to the daughter of the Xiahou Mansion.
"Sir, please wait a moment. I will go and report to you."
Guard B winked at Guard A, telling him to look at the person in front of him first. After all, neither of them had ever seen the eldest son, so they couldn't let him in rashly. To avoid making a mistake, it was better to be cautious.
Then Guard B turned around and patted the side door at the back. It creaked open a moment later. Looking at the child in front of him, who was barely taller than his knee, Guard B could only rub his forehead helplessly.
"Saya, why are you here? Where is your grandmother?" The three-year-old child in front of him was the granddaughter of the doorman, Lao Hu.
"My grandma went to the toilet, I'm here to watch the door for her." San Ya said in a baby voice.
Just when Guard B was racking his brains over whether to let the three-year-old kid deliver the message, he suddenly heard the sound of an approaching carriage behind him. The driver was none other than Lao Zhong, the coachman from the mansion.
"Miss, we're here."
Lao Zhong stopped the carriage and opened the curtains, and then a girl wearing the uniform of the Imperial College jumped out of the carriage.
She looked about thirteen or fourteen years old, wearing a light blue, wide-sleeved, cross-necked brocade tunic with intricate embroidery, an indigo brocade skirt, and twin buns tied with light blue ribbons. She exuded a youthful spirit, and a scholarly air permeated her every move.
The person who came was none other than Prime Minister Situ Luoyun's eldest daughter Situ Wanqing, who had just returned from studying at the Imperial College.
"Miss!"
Seeing this, Guard B hurriedly turned around and strode forward, running towards Situ Wanqing as soon as he went down the stairs.
"Guard Annan, why are you in such a hurry?" Situ Wanqing flicked the non-existent dust off her sleeves, glanced at Guard B, and asked slowly.
"Miss, you've come at the right time. There is a young man who claims to be Situ Xuanye. I have never seen your brother. Can you tell me if he is the eldest young master in our family?" An Nan bowed to Situ Wanqing and reported.
"Brother?"
Upon hearing this, Situ Wanqing lifted up her skirt and walked quickly up the stairs.
"Doudou, how are you?"
Situ Ye turned around and looked at Situ Wanqing who was walking towards him step by step, with a warm smile like the sun on his face.
"It really is you, Situ Xuanye!"
Situ Wanqing circled around Situ Ye twice, looking him over from head to toe. He was exactly the same person she remembered, except that he seemed taller, stronger, and a little darker.
"Situ Xuanye, I'm warning you, don't call me Doudou anymore. I've grown up and taller."
Situ Wanqing wanted to pat her brother on the back of the head, but he was much taller than her and she couldn't reach him even if she jumped.
"Situ Wanqing, I think you should eat for a few more years before saying this to me." Situ Ye pinched the two buns on his sister's head and said with a smile.
When he left home, his sister was not even as tall as his chest, but now she is almost as tall as his shoulders. She has indeed grown a lot taller.
"So it's the eldest son. Please forgive my humble servant, Annan, for my poor eyesight and my failure to recognize you just now." Seeing that the visitor was indeed the Prime Minister's eldest son, Guard B hurried forward to apologize.
"I come to the north to pay my respects to the eldest master! I have offended you a lot just now, please forgive me." Guard A also stepped forward to pay his respects.
"Ignorance is not a crime. You have done a good job and fulfilled your duties." Situ Ye waved his hand indifferently.
"Oh my goodness! Is this the eldest son of our mansion back?"
At this time, the doorman Lao Hu also returned to his post after using the toilet. Her granddaughter San Ya was with her. The little girl was looking at Situ Ye curiously with her cute big eyes.
"Come, San Ya, come and meet the eldest master!" Old Hu hurriedly pulled his granddaughter to pay her respects to Situ Ye.
"Greetings, the eldest master!" San Ya bowed to Situ Ye in a proper manner and said in a baby voice.
"Don't be so polite. Aunt Hu has given birth to another granddaughter! What a cause for celebration!" Situ Ye said with a smile as he looked at the little girl.
When he left home, the concierge's grandson, Madam Hu, already had five children. Unexpectedly, when he came back, there was one more.
"I'm sorry to have embarrassed you, my Sun Xifu doesn't have much ability. This is the only thing he can show off." Old Hu said with a wry smile.
"So now you have three granddaughters and three grandsons. Not bad, not bad." Situ Ye joked.
"It's eight, young master. During the time you were not in the mansion, my Sun Xifu gave birth to one baby every year, which made me worried! San Ya also has a younger brother Si Hu who is one year younger than her, and a younger sister Siya who is two years younger than her." Although Mammy Hu said she was worried, her face was full of smiles. It was obvious that she was very satisfied. Many children mean more blessings and longevity!
"Madame Hu, open the door!"
"Yes, Miss. Look how foolish I am. I actually left my two masters outside."
Nanny Hu then entered from the side door, opened the middle door wide, and welcomed the eldest young lady and the eldest young master back home.
Lifting his long legs and stepping over the high threshold, Situ Ye walked into the mansion where he had lived since he was a child.
After entering the Prime Minister's Residence, crossing the hanging flower gate, passing through the corridor with carved railings and painted buildings, and crossing the quiet and elegant garden, Situ Ye and Situ Wanqing headed towards the hall of Qingxin Courtyard.
