Chapter 249 King You’s Wedding

"Meng Shadan? What happened to him?" Hua Qingcheng's hands holding the baby tightened involuntarily, and her worry was beyond words.

Although Hua Qingcheng had no romantic feelings for Meng Haoling, she didn't want anything to happen to that straightforward, innocent and kind-hearted man.

Facing everyone's intense gazes, Chu Kang said with a slightly gloomy expression, "About a month ago, on the evening of the 11th of last month, Master Meng suddenly lost consciousness."

Hearing this, Han Yichen's narrow eyes narrowed slightly. After thinking for a moment, he asked, "Is he sick?"

Chu Kangyi shook his head and replied, "I don't know. The imperial doctors are helpless. Lord Situ even invited Xuan Ming, the second elder of Xuanyi Valley, to treat him. However, after examining Master Meng, the second elder said he had never seen such a strange symptom. There was nothing wrong with the body, but the patient just couldn't wake up, and there was no trace of anything."

"So weird?" Mu Lige's handsome brows knitted together, his eyes revealing confusion and thought. He murmured softly, "Could it be that someone has poisoned me? There are countless strange and bizarre poisonous insects in this world. If I've been poisoned, it makes sense."

However, Chu Kangyi directly denied Mu Lige's speculation. He frowned and said firmly, "The Emperor has already had Yu Liang examine him, and he doesn't appear to have been poisoned or possessed by some kind of witchcraft. It's as if Young Master Meng has suddenly lost all life, transformed into a living dead."

Upon hearing this, Hua Qingcheng's expression suddenly became solemn. After a moment's silence, she slowly said, "I'm aware of this matter. I'll be returning to the capital soon. When I do, I'll personally investigate."

After leaving the garden, Hua Qingcheng went to the room of Hua's mother and father, carefully handed Hua Qingguo in her arms back to Ye Maochun, and then turned around and returned to Songzhuyuan with Mu Lige and Han Yichen.

As soon as she stepped into the yard, Hua Qingcheng couldn't wait to ask Han Yichen: "Achen, do you have any idea about the symptoms of Meng Shadan that Chu Kangyi just mentioned?" Her eyes were full of worry and anxiety, and her voice unconsciously became a little colder.

Han Yichen shook his head slightly, his expression equally serious. "Even Second Master couldn't see the clues. Meng Haoling's condition might not be simple. I can't easily draw a conclusion before I personally examine him."

Hua Qingcheng knew very well that what Han Yichen said was true, but things had come to this point. They were now in Youzhou, and no matter how anxious they were, it would be of no use. They could only suppress their worries for the time being.

After intensive preparations, two days later, on April 12th, the palace of Prince You was decorated with lights and colors inside and out, and every corner was filled with a festive atmosphere.

By early morning, the front courtyard was already bustling with people, every seat occupied, and guests streamed in. The scene was bustling with activity. A vibrant, eye-catching red wedding character hung high above the palace's gate, and beautiful potted flowers were neatly arranged at the entrance, extending into the inner hall.

Inside the hall, Nalan Qiudi, the Prince of You, was dressed in gorgeous wedding attire, her face beaming with joy. Standing erect in front of the hall, she warmly welcomed the guests who had come to offer their congratulations and engaged in pleasant conversation with them. The hall was adorned with magnificent brilliance, with vibrant red silk and colorful ribbons fluttering in the breeze, creating an atmosphere of joy and peace.

As the auspicious hour approached, Nalan Qiudi, holding the hand of the groom, Chu Kangyi, slowly walked into the hall. Both dressed in exquisite wedding attire, they walked side by side, looking like a perfect match made in heaven.

However, just as Mr. Xi was about to announce the couple's wedding, a slight commotion suddenly broke out outside the hall. Everyone turned their heads and saw two beautiful figures slowly walking into the hall.

The first thing that caught my eye was a little girl in a bright red dress. She had two buns with two red hairbands tied on them, which fluttered gently with her steps.

The little girl looked only about six or seven years old, with skin as white as snow, delicate and smooth. Her features were handsome and three-dimensional, especially her large, clear, lively eyes, which sparkled like two brilliant gems. Her cheeks were rosy, and she looked both cute and playful, like an elf out of a painting, full of energy and vitality.

Beside the little girl stood a tall, handsome man. He wore a white, gold-trimmed robe, a white jade belt around his waist, and lotus-silk sandals, appearing even more elegant and distinguished. His long, black hair was tied up high, secured with a white headband, and he exuded an otherworldly aura.

The man's face was chiseled, with sharp eyebrows, starry eyes, a high nose bridge, thin lips slightly raised, and a smile on his face. His eyes were deep and gentle, as if imbued with endless charm, making it impossible to look away. Such appearance and temperament made him stand out in the crowd, like a dazzling star.

"King You is delighted. I, Bai Ling, and my fiancée, Hong Fu, have come to congratulate you. Will King You be unwelcome?"

Bai Ling wore a faint smile, his eyes playfully glancing at Hua Qingcheng, Mu Lige, and Han Yichen, who were seated in the VIP seats. He then tightly grasped Hong Fu's hand, gracefully walked towards the seat of honor, and sat down steadily.

At this time, all the guests present were full of curiosity about these two sudden distinguished guests and were guessing their true identities.

Nalan Qiudi was stunned, because these two people, who used to only appear when Hua Qingcheng played the piano, now unexpectedly... unexpectedly appeared at her wedding without any warning! For a moment, she couldn't tell whether this was a dream or reality.
