Chapter 252 Soul Robbed

On April 18th, the sun set in the west, and the afterglow was as red as blood, shining on the East Palace of the Zhaoyang Palace.

Just as Han Yichen was using the Plum Blossom Needle on Meng Haoling, Ran Qiyue, the national teacher who was far away in Zhaoyang Kingdom, suddenly vomited blood.

"Ran Aiqing, what on earth is going on?"

Su Mutianjun looked at Ran Qiyue who was performing rituals in front of the incense table with confusion, a scrutinizing gleam in his eyes.

Two and a half months ago, this old Taoist priest swore that Ziweixing and Shenlong would be reincarnated into the belly of Princess Zhengjun of Laifeng Kingdom. These two children would shake his kingdom. He had to use the soul of Crown Prince Su Mulihan as a sacrifice to ask the Demon Lord to take action and eliminate the fetus in the belly of Princess Zhengjun of Laifeng Kingdom.

However, things went against their wishes. After the soul of Crown Prince Su Mulihan was taken away, the two children of Princess Zhengjun of Laifeng Kingdom were born safely, while Crown Prince Su Mulihan became mentally retarded from then on.

Fortunately, before the Crown Prince went mad, he had favored a palace maid, Shen Mengyao, now known as Concubine Shen. She was already over five months pregnant, leaving a trace of the Crown Prince's bloodline. This also alleviated some of the pressure on him to depose Su Mulihan and appoint a new Crown Prince.

Su Mutianjun thought that as long as Chen Mengyao gave birth to a baby boy in a few months, he would make him the crown prince, which would also ensure the inheritance of the direct bloodline.

Su Mutianjun still remembers that when his uncle Qin Zhenyi returned from his diplomatic mission to Laifeng Kingdom, he praised the Laifeng Kingdom's two children in front of all the civil and military ministers in the court for being so smart and cute. The anger in his heart was beyond words, and he hated Ran Qiyue to the core.

However, after Ran Qiyue was tied up, he said he had a way to wake Su Mulihan. At this point, Su Mutianjun decided to let him give it a try.

However, a month and a half passed, and even Su Mutianjun could not remember how many times Ran Qiyue had performed rituals, but the Crown Prince Su Mulihan was still unconscious.

Now, seeing that Ran Qiyue failed again, Su Mutianjun's patience was finally exhausted.

Seeing Su Mutianjun's face suddenly darken like a gathering cloud, Ran Qiyue, sensing something was amiss, quickly said, "Your Majesty, I have indeed obtained the soul of a pure Yin female. This soul is pure and flawless, a pure and benevolent soul rarely seen in a century. As long as we offer it to the Demon Lord and ask him to repair the prince's soul, the prince will be able to wake up."

"Ran Zamao, I've been tired of hearing your words for over a month. Do you think I'll ever trust you again?" Su Mutianjun gritted his teeth and said, "Come here! Imperial Preceptor Ran Qiyue is spreading lies and misleading the people, plotting to murder the Crown Prince. Capture him now! I'm going to personally chop off the head of this old Taoist priest!"

Following Su Mutianjun's order, a group of imperial guards, holding swords and marching in neat steps, came over majestically, ready to tie up Ran Qiyue.

Ran Qiyue, who didn't want to completely fall out with Su Mutianjun yet, hurriedly shouted, "Your Majesty! Your Majesty, everything I said is absolutely true! It's just that I don't know who kidnapped that soul along the way, so it didn't reach my hands."

However, the furious Su Mutianjun no longer wanted to listen to this guy's explanation, and he ordered the guards to act faster.

So, Ran Qiyue, who was holding the talisman and performing a ritual, was quickly tied up like a dumpling.

Su Mutianjun stared at Ran Qiyue and said sinisterly, "Ran Zamao, you've caused me so much pain! You've made my only legitimate son so stupid and dumb that he doesn't even recognize anyone. Tell me, should I just kill you with one blow or cut you into pieces? Oh, no, maybe it would be more appropriate to roast you, this bastard Taoist priest who's spreading lies and misleading the people, with fire!"

Upon hearing this, Ran Qiyue said anxiously, "Your Majesty, you can't treat me like this. Have you forgotten? Nineteen years ago, who helped you get rid of Tianlang and clip the wings of the former Crown Prince Su Mu Tiansheng? Seven years ago, who helped you get rid of the former Crown Prince and suppress the souls of Su Mu Tiansheng and Gongsun Muxue, allowing you to sit back and relax and ascend the throne?"

"Shut up!" Seeing Ran Qiyue bringing up the old matter again, Su Mutianjun's face suddenly became so gloomy that it seemed as if water could drip out.

Every word this guy said reminded him that the throne he was sitting on was obtained through dirty means.

"Now that you have failed to meet my expectations and are still trying to quibble, how can I tolerate you!" Su Mutianjun scolded.

Ran Qiyue still refused to give up and shouted, "Your Majesty, please give me another chance! As long as we find the soul of that pure yin female master, we can restore His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to normal. If I die, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince will have to remain in this state of stupidity for the rest of his life..."

Queen Qin Shuyao, standing by, had long been vexed with hatred for Ran Qiyue, but the old Taoist priest couldn't be killed just yet. So, she urged him, "Your Majesty, how about...letting the Imperial Preceptor try again?"

After calming down, Su Mutianjun decided to give Ran Qiyue another chance.

In a dimension invisible to mortals, Qianye, clad in a black robe, had a cold gaze and pursed thin lips. He glanced indifferently at Ran Qiyue, Su Mutianjun, and the others before leisurely gazing at the soul he held in his hand. After a brief moment of thought, he placed the soul back into his Qiankun bag.

After the guards released Ran Qiyue, Ran Qiyue immediately removed the used items from the incense table, rearranged the items, and started a ritual.

Ran Qiyue stood quietly before the incense table, his eyes focused. His lips were tightly pursed, his face pale, beads of sweat oozing from his forehead. He clenched his hands tightly, exerting all his strength to try to summon that pure soul.

However, no matter how hard Ran Qiyue tried, there was still no response from the incense table. His eyes gradually became confused and desperate, and his body began to tremble.
