Chapter 33: Selling Goods in the City

Hua Qingcheng picked up the little boy, raised one leg and kicked directly at the face of the leader of the thugs, using only 50% of her strength.

The thug leader fell to the ground with blood in his mouth, and spat out his two remaining front teeth.

"Hua Qingcheng!"

The leader of the thugs who had let the cat out of the bag saw clearly that the person who kicked him was Hua Qingcheng, who had previously cheated her of one hundred taels of silver. He immediately gritted his teeth, and new and old grudges were mixed together, and he couldn't help but become furious.

"The child is innocent. What does the grudges between adults have to do with him?"

"You should never, ever, be so cruel to a young child!"

Hua Qingcheng's eyes were icy as she looked at the leader of the thugs with extreme coldness.

"Grandpa, damn it!"

"His wife owed us five taels of silver, and he had to pay back seven taels, including principal and interest! His wife is dead, so it's only natural to use him to pay off the debt."

"I'll give you seven taels! Hand over the IOU!"

Seeing Hua Qingcheng really took out seven taels of silver from her pocket, the thug leader obeyed her and handed her the IOU. After taking a look at the IOU, Hua Qingcheng tore it up and threw the five taels of silver at the thug leader.

"I'll give you five taels! Do you want it or not?"

Only four people were brought with them today. Forced by Hua Qingcheng's terrifying fighting power, the leader of the thugs fled in embarrassment with several others.

Seeing the bad guys gone, the little boy climbed down from Hua Qingcheng and ran to Cheng Minggui on the ground. After Hua Qingcheng untied him, Cheng Minggui leaned over and kowtowed to her.

"Thank you so much for saving me again! Mingui is willing to work like a slave to repay you!"

Glancing at the disheveled man on the ground and the ragged child beside him, Hua Qingcheng sighed slightly. Thinking of the ten acres of overgrown wasteland around the Hua family's old house that was about to be reclaimed, Hua Qingcheng said slowly:

"I'm not paying you back for free! You have to work to pay it back!"
