Chapter 34: Repel the Foreign Enemies

Sikong Miao had the magic sword in Xingyue's hand pressed tightly against his neck, as if blood would splatter on the spot if he moved even a little.

This scene undoubtedly announced to everyone that Sikong Lian and others had successfully defeated the rebels.

Seeing this, Sikong Hao's tense heartstrings finally relaxed. He exhaled deeply and looked much more relaxed.

However, Sikong Miao unexpectedly refused to surrender to the predicament. Instead, a disdainful sneer appeared on his lips, and his voice was icy cold as he said, "Hmph, do you really think this is the end? Even if you kill me right here, you will never be able to defeat the demon army besieging the secret forest! Hahahaha..."

His laughter echoed in the air, filled with endless mockery and provocation.

Upon hearing this, Spirit Emperor Sikong Hao's expression instantly darkened. He looked at Sikong Miao with deep sorrow and rebuked her, "Sikong Miao, Sikong Miao, you truly are my good brother! Back then, I cared for you and loved you with all my heart since you were little. Even Father doted on you, allowing you to enjoy all the wealth and glory in the world. Yet, now, this is how you repay me, and our entire Spirit Family, for raising you?"

Facing Sikong Hao's relentless questioning, Sikong Miao showed no gratitude or remorse, but instead revealed a look of resentment and indignation. His eyes widened, and he gritted his teeth as he retorted, "Hmph! Your so-called love and gifts are nothing more than charity to me! I've never truly received respect or recognition. Everything you've done is just empty pretense!"

Sikong Miao's face was filled with resentment as he continued to accuse her, "Humph! Who would care about your hypocritical care and kindness? Father is simply blatantly partial! We are both heirs of the royal family, so why is it that only you can ascend to the supreme throne, while I can only be ruthlessly abandoned aside? The love you keep talking about for me is nothing more than something you have discarded to me after you have grown tired of it and disdained it!"

Hearing Sikong Miao's words, Sikong Hao, the eldest son, felt as if a storm had risen in his heart. He could hardly believe what he heard.

For so many years, he had always treated his younger brother as the apple of his eye, caring for him with all his heart and love. However, he was now shocked to discover that in the eyes of his younger brother, he and his father were so unbearable.

Instantly, a bone-chilling cold spread from Sikong Hao's feet, as if freezing him to ice. The pain of being betrayed by those closest to you was even more heartbreaking than facing rebels and foreign enemies.

Xingyue, standing nearby, witnessed this scene and couldn't help but sigh softly. She slowly advised, "Spirit Emperor, think more positively. Perhaps this is the common saying of the human race—'A little bit of rice is a favor, a peck of rice is a grudge.'"

At the same time, Sikong Lian waved his hand expressionlessly at the soldiers beside him, signaling them to step forward and put Sikong Miao in jail immediately, so as not to add to the sadness of the Spiritual Emperor.

After receiving the order, the soldiers quickly stepped forward, tightly grasped Sikong Miao's arms, and forcibly dragged him away. The whole scene seemed particularly solemn and depressing, making people sigh.

Spiritual Emperor Sikong Hao looked solemnly at Sikong Miao, who had been dragged away but still stared at him with eyes filled with hatred and resentment. A wave of helplessness and regret welled up in his heart. He slowly closed his eyes and sighed heavily, as if this sigh could release the deep sorrow in his heart.

Xingyue had no choice but to speak again, reminding them, "Spirit Emperor, Prince Lian, now is not the time to be sad. Tens of thousands of elite demon warriors have gathered outside this secret forest. Our top priority is to repel the invading enemy and keep the elves safe!"

Meanwhile, outside the elven forest, Yao Jingyue was leading a group of demon soldiers, shouting and clamoring loudly. Their voices were like surging waves, one higher than the other, deafening.

However, not all demon soldiers have the unfathomable level of cultivation like Yao Jingyue, and can step into this mysterious secret forest without any hindrance.

Because of this, Yao Jingyue was the only one who was able to enter and relentlessly pursue Sikong Lian. However, things did not go as planned. Just when she was about to succeed and capture the staff, she encountered a master from the God Clan who came to disrupt the situation.

Despite this, the arrogant and ambitious Yao Jingyue was unwilling to give up. So, after escaping the secret forest, she led her many demon soldiers to linger there, refusing to withdraw. Furthermore, she attempted to use this method to force the elves to reveal themselves.

Faced with the arrogant and domineering shouting of Yao Jingyue, the elves all looked solemn and nervous, and quickly and orderly prepared defensive fortifications.

Sikong Hao frowned and urgently discussed countermeasures with Xingyue. After careful consideration, they resolutely made a bold decision: to send out a small team composed of elites to cleverly detour to the rear of the demon army to carry out a surprise attack.

Almost immediately, the cunning Yao Jingyue also keenly perceived the subtle movements of the elves. A cold and contemptuous smile played on her lips. She decisively issued an order, ordering some demon soldiers to remain in place and wait for orders, while she personally led the main force to advance without stopping the elves' sneak attack.

In an instant, the flames of battle erupted, and the cries of slaughter resounded through the air. On the outskirts of the elven forest, a thrilling, brutal, and desperate battle unfolded. Blades clashed, blood splattered like rain, and the entire battlefield seemed enveloped in a bloody mist.

However, just as the fierce battle reached a stalemate, with no clear winner, Xingyue suddenly unleashed one of the unique and incomparable divine skills possessed by the Goddess of Light—"Time Flies!" This move was like a bolt from the blue, instantly shattering the balance on the battlefield.

As Xingyue's gleaming divine sword danced, streaks of incomparably sharp sword light streaked across the sky like meteors. The demon soldiers had no time to react as they collapsed one after another, transforming into wisps of black smoke that rose up and eventually vanished into the vast sky.

Witnessing this scene, the demon soldiers were horrified. Their high morale plummeted to the bottom, and fear and despair surged into their hearts like a tide. They no longer had the will to fight, and could only abandon their weapons and armor and began to retreat in disgrace.

Yao Jingyue watched helplessly as his own army was defeated. Although he felt extremely unwilling, he also knew that the situation was hopeless. He had no choice but to reluctantly order a full retreat.

The elves had achieved a temporary victory, but they knew that the war with the demons was far from over...
