Chapter 4 Iron-Blooded Tenderness

After leaving the military hospital, Jiang Yunting returned to the military dormitory.

Jiang Yunting walked into the bathroom with a tired look on his face. He stood under the shower and turned on the cold water tap without hesitation, letting the icy water hit his head directly.

The cold water poured down like a waterfall, wetting Jiang Yunting's neat short hair and handsome face, forming a sharp contrast with his inner throbbing.

Jiang Yunting closed his eyes tightly, feeling the sting of the cold water, trying to drown the inexplicable throbbing sensation Hua Qingcheng brought him. The water hit his forehead and flowed down his cheeks, as if to wash away the restlessness along with it. However, the throbbing sensation burned in his heart like a flame, making him unable to calm down.

"Hua Qingcheng, did you drug me?"

Jiang Yunting pinched his brows in frustration. He slapped cold water on himself for a while, but the throbbing in his heart didn't subside; instead, it grew stronger. The cold water and the passion within him intertwined, leaving him in a state of conflict.

Jiang Yunting longed to quench his throbbing emotions, but he couldn't seem to completely escape Hua Qingcheng's shadow. In the cramped bathroom, he faced his emotional turmoil alone, trying to find inner peace.

On the other side, after Jiang Yunting left, the room suddenly became quiet, with only the soft footsteps of doctors and nurses remaining.

Hua Qingcheng lay quietly on the hospital bed, staring at the ceiling, her heart filled with doubts. She pondered what had happened after she fell and fainted in the Hua family's old house, and why she had come to this completely unfamiliar place.

Attending physician Hao Lianchi walked to the bedside and gently greeted Hua Qingcheng, his tone revealing both professionalism and care. The nurses expertly operated various instruments, carefully checking Hua Qingcheng's vital signs.

The doctors and nurses worked methodically, carefully recording every bit of data and observing every subtle change. Although Hua Qingcheng was confused, she still politely responded to the doctors' questions and cooperated with the nurses' examinations.

During this process, Hua Qingcheng's thoughts gradually drifted away. She recalled the past and pondered the possibilities of the future. Although she was still puzzled, she knew that she had to adapt to the unfamiliar world before her.

After the examination, the attending physician Haolian Chi smiled and told Hua Qingcheng that everything was normal, and asked her to notify him in time if she felt unwell.

In this way, Hua Qingcheng settled down in the military hospital.

Since she woke up, the man named Jiang Yunting came to see her every day at lunch and dinner time and supervised her practicing walking.

Because the hospital has a strict work and rest system, doctors and nurses do not allow patients to run around, and they have to face Jiang Yunting's ferocious and scolding face every day. Hua Qingcheng initially wanted to stay in the military hospital and live for free, but gradually she became disgusted with it and wanted to escape.

Two days later, on July 3 (the eighth day of the sixth lunar month, the day when Mu Lige was canonized as a lord), around noon, Jiang Yunting came to the military hospital ward to see Hua Qingcheng again. This time he brought a pair of crutches.

"How do you feel today?" Jiang Yunting walked into the ward and asked Hua Qingcheng who was reading a magazine on the hospital bed.

"Very good." Hua Qingcheng didn't even raise her eyelids, continued to flip through the "Super Male God" magazine in her hand, and answered in a cold tone.

Jiang Yunting frowned. He walked over to the bedside and glanced at the glamorous men posing in the magazine in Hua Qingcheng's hand. A flicker of displeasure crossed his heart. He reached out and snatched the magazine away, throwing it aside. "8808, the commander is asking you a question! What's wrong with you?!"

Hua Qingcheng curled her lips when she heard that, raised her head, looked at Jiang Yunting with some displeasure and said, "I've already told you, I'm fine!"

"Since your body has almost recovered, let's get out of bed and take a walk." Jiang Yunting took Hua Qingcheng's hand and asked her to get out of bed.

Hua Qingcheng felt annoyed, but this man was very strong, so she had to obey him and get out of bed, put on her slippers and start walking slowly in the ward.

Jiang Yunting stood aside and watched Hua Qingcheng quietly. Seeing her slow pace and perfunctory movements, he couldn't help but frown and said, "Why are you so slow? Hurry up!"

Hua Qingcheng stopped, glared at Jiang Yunting fiercely, then quickened her pace and walked back and forth in the ward.

Jiang Yunting nodded in satisfaction, then took out the crutch beside him and let Hua Qingcheng use it. "Starting today, you are not allowed to use the wheelchair. Now walk to the cafeteria to eat by yourself."

"If you don't allow me to do that, then don't. Why are you so fierce?" Hua Qingcheng curled her lips slightly. At this moment, she missed those obedient husbands at home very much.

"Oh, it turns out that no matter whether it is money or people, you will only know how precious they are when you lose them..." Hua Qingcheng muttered to herself.

After complaining, Hua Qingcheng walked with crutches, secretly cursing Jiang Yunting in her heart. She really hoped to leave this place as soon as possible and get away from this hateful man.

Jiang Yunting looked at Hua Qingcheng who had already walked out of the ward door, striding out his long legs to catch up. He nodded with satisfaction and said, "Hua Qingcheng, you are recovering very well now. If nothing unexpected happens, you will be fully recovered in about a week. You can return to the army then. As long as you train hard, I believe you can return to your previous level soon. We...we are all looking forward to your early return to the Eagle Wolf Team."

However, what Jiang Yunting didn't know was that his seemingly encouraging words sounded like a curse to Hua Qingcheng. She was exhausted from just walking training, and this man was actually trying to train her so rigorously. Wasn't he trying to kill her?
