Chapter 41: Water of the Netherworld

After leaving Wuyou Valley, Xingyue did not continue to fly slowly, but directly used teleportation.

As his mind moved, Xingyue arrived at a magnificent palace in the next moment. This palace was located in the void, surrounded by a mysterious mist, making it impossible to see its entire appearance.

The air here was cold and silent. Entering the palace, I saw thick stone pillars towering into the clouds within the dimly lit hall, firmly supporting the massive dome. Faint candlelight flickered, illuminating the surrounding walls, which were engraved with strange patterns and runes, seemingly imbued with some powerful power.

Before a large desk stood a man in black, his hands behind his back. He was tall and imposing, as immovable as a mountain. His features were delicate. Beneath his heroic sword-like brows, his eyes were deep and bright, as dazzling as the stars. He exuded a cold aura, as chilling as a thousand-year-old glacier or ten-thousand-year-old black ice, inspiring awe.

"God King Qianye!" Xingyue said respectfully to the man in black.

Qianye slowly turned around and looked at Xingyue, who looked a little tired. He frowned slightly, but in the end he didn't say a word of blame. Instead, he said softly, "I'm glad you're back."

The two of them sat in silence.

A moment later, Xingyue was the first to break the silence and said, "God King Qianye, Xingyue has regained her memory. Thank you very much for saving Xingyue's life."

Qianye slowly sat down at the desk, tapping his fingers lightly on the surface. He said casually, "What? Did you also remember that it wasn't me who erased your memory?"

Hearing this, Xingyue said apologetically, "I lost my memory earlier and misunderstood Divine King Qianye. I hope you won't take it to heart."

Qianye nodded slightly, but said nothing. His eyes fell on Xingyue, as if he was thinking about something.

After a moment, Qianye spoke again: "If that's the case, then forget it. But don't make the same mistake again next time."

Xingyue nodded quickly, saying she would definitely pay attention. She secretly breathed a sigh of relief, glad that Qianye didn't blame her.

"Yeah." Qianye replied coldly, but his expression had softened considerably. "I've been out and about for so long, neglecting a lot of important matters. Just remember to take care of them."

Xingyue raised the corner of her lips slightly, nodded, and said, "I will follow the order of Qianye Divine King."

Qianye was silent for a moment, then suddenly stood up from his seat. He then slowly walked towards Xingyue, approaching her and trapping her in his powerful arms. He asked condescendingly, "So, Xingyue, you've thought it through and are planning to give up that Dongming guy and return to me, right?"

Xingyue's heart tightened. She shook her head gently and said seriously, "God King Qianye, Xingyue did not come back here for God King Dongming, nor for you. Instead... I came back here to save the people of the world."

She paused briefly, then said solemnly, "Regardless of whether Xingyue has recovered her lost memories, she is now the goddess of both the Temple of Light and the Temple of Darkness, shouldering the heavy responsibility of seeking the welfare of all people and maintaining order in the underworld."

Qianye's eyes instantly became cold and ruthless, and a biting chill filled the air around him.

"Did you lie to me when you promised to be my fiancée?" He stretched out his hands, grabbed Xingyue's shoulders, and shook her hard.

Xingyue felt a sharp pain, but she still looked firmly into Qianye's eyes, her gaze not flinching.

"Divine King Qianye, Xingyue understands that she owes you a debt of gratitude regarding the matter of love. However, Xingyue at that time had no previous memories, while you were fully aware of the feelings between Xingyue and Divine King Dongming. Yet, you remained oblivious. Do you not bear any responsibility? However, no matter what, Xingyue has never forgotten her mission to save humanity. Divine King Qianye, please consider the greater good."

Upon hearing this, Qianye slowly loosened his hand, took two steps back, and a look of pain appeared on his face.

"Well, since you've made up your mind, Xingyue, I won't force you any more. But I hope you won't regret this in the future!"

After saying that, Qianye turned around, leaving Xingyue standing there quietly alone.

Xingyue sighed slightly, and then strolled in the Dark Temple. Unknowingly, she came to her residence as the Dark Goddess.

This residence is located deep within the Dark Temple, surrounded by mysterious dark forces. Only Xingyue, the Dark Goddess, can enter and exit freely. The moment Xingyue opened the door and stepped into the room, a familiar yet unfamiliar atmosphere hit her face.

Suddenly, Xingyue was drawn to a strangely aura-emitting bottle on the shelf. The bottle was pitch black, its surface covered in strange runes. These runes shimmered faintly, as if holding endless mysteries.

Xingyue stretched out her slender fingers and gently touched the bottle. A cold breath instantly spread throughout her body.

Xingyue knew very well that the bottle was not there when she left the Dark Temple. She couldn't help but feel a strong curiosity in her heart, wanting to explore the origin and purpose of the bottle.

However, just as Xingyue was about to pick up the bottle for a closer look, a dark shadow flashed from behind her and snatched the bottle away in an instant.

Startled, Xingyue turned and gave chase. The shadow moved through the darkness at an extremely fast speed, and Xingyue kept chasing it.

Finally, the shadow stopped in a corner, turned around, and revealed a stern face. His eyes revealed a cold and distant look that made people shudder.

"God King Qianye?" Xingyue looked at Qianye who suddenly appeared in front of her with suspicion.
