Chapter 46 Going to the Trial

The tenth day of the twelfth month, at the hour of Chen.

The Yixia Garden in the Eastern Palace is Si Chengfeng’s bedroom.

Si Chengfeng's fingers gently brushed through Hua Qingcheng's hair, combed them into an elegant bun, and then inserted a gorgeous jade hairpin to fix her hair, making her look more dignified and noble.

"Afeng~"

Hua Qingcheng sat in front of the dressing table, looking at her hair in the mirror that was neatly combed by Si Chengfeng, and couldn't help but smile knowingly.

Her eyes fell on Si Chengfeng's face, which was a handsome and delicate face. The sadness and loneliness of last night were gone. Instead, there were eyes full of joy and shyness, and a warm smile on his face.

Si Chengfeng looked at Hua Qingcheng infatuatedly, his pair of silky eyes filled with tenderness and love. He gently stroked Hua Qingcheng's hair, as if touching a precious treasure.

"You have such a deft hand!"

Hua Qingcheng turned around, and saw that she was holding Si Chengfeng's hand gently, and her eyes were full of doting when she looked at Si Chengfeng.

After combing Hua Qingcheng's hair, Si Chengfeng didn't care about himself and started to change Hua Qingcheng's clothes. Hua Qingcheng knew that this was her fifth husband's way of expressing his love, so she didn't refuse and let him change into the complicated palace dress for her.

This bright yellow court gown, worn by the Crown Princess, is as vibrant and eye-catching as the warm spring sun. Its exquisite workmanship and superior texture make it incredibly comfortable to wear, perfectly framing Hua Qingcheng's slender figure and showcasing her noble and aloof temperament.

The phoenix in flight pattern is beautifully embroidered with flowing lines, making it look like a living phoenix, as if about to flutter its wings and fly out of the garment. The auspicious clouds are a dazzling display of colors, like a beautiful painting, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.

The imperial court dress of a princess is more than just a garment; it is a symbol, a symbol of authority and responsibility. It represents Hua Qingcheng's status as a princess, and also the mission and responsibility she shoulders. Hua Qingcheng is well aware of this, so she only wears it solemnly on important occasions.

"Afeng, wait a moment."

After helping Hua Qingcheng change her clothes, Si Chengfeng began to put his outer clothes on himself, but was stopped by Hua Qingcheng.

“Put it on!”

When Hua Qingcheng thought about how Si Chengfeng was almost killed by Yu Lianhuan, she felt scared and also remembered this hatred in her heart.

Hua Qingcheng directly pulled out the Heavenly Silkworm Robe from the space and put it on Si Chengfeng. The Heavenly Silkworm Robe felt warm to the touch. Although it was as thin as silk and soft and smooth, it was also extremely tough and invulnerable to swords and spears. It was perfect for her unarmed husband.

In the past, Hua Qingcheng would use the lapels of her clothes or cloth bags to take things from the space villa, but now, in front of her husbands, she was more casual and unrestrained. After all, they knew in their hearts that they were not the original owners, but they had a tacit understanding and would not mention it.

"Qingcheng, this... isn't this the Heavenly Silkworm Clothes?"

Si Chengfeng was slightly surprised.

Si Chengfeng was no stranger to the Heavenly Silkworm Clothes. After all, he had been there when Hua Qingcheng had obtained them from Xuanming, and Hua Qingcheng had even given them to him to wear. He was well aware of the value and preciousness of the garment.

"I have the ability to protect myself. You need it more than I do." Hua Qingcheng didn't say anything and quickly dressed Si Chengfeng and put on his coat.

However, Hua Qingcheng's movements in putting on the clothes were not gentle, so that Si Chengfeng's coat looked a little awkward. Si Chengfeng smiled helplessly and could only put it on again himself.

After breakfast, Hua Qingcheng and Si Chengfeng boarded the carriage bound for the Dali Temple. They sat side by side, fingers intertwined, their eyes meeting and their ears whispering. The atmosphere was ambiguous and warm.

Now, Han Yichen’s second master Xuanming is also in the East Palace, so Hua Qingcheng agreed to Mu Lige’s proposal and let Zuo An accompany them.

In the carriage, Zuo An pretended not to notice the sweet affection between Si Chengfeng and Hua Qingcheng. He just turned his eyes away to hide the loneliness in his heart which was not easily noticed by others.

If he were in Si Chengfeng's shoes, leaning against a woman's arms like that, it would be a disservice to his reputation as Master Zuo'an. But that woman just fell for it. Isn't that infuriating? Zuo'an muttered to himself.

The rumbling carriage continued to move forward, its wheels rolling forward. At the end of the morning hour, Hua Qingcheng and her group arrived at the Dali Temple.

"Your Highness, Si Liangce, and Master Zuo, we've arrived at the Dali Temple!"

Feng Wu had suffered internal injuries, so Feng Wen was driving the carriage and acting as the emperor's escort today. He set up a step stool and came to the back, drawing back the carriage curtains and inviting the masters to disembark.

"Afeng, we're here."

Hua Qingcheng grabbed Si Chengfeng's hand and helped him get off the carriage.

The Dali Temple stands majestically, like a giant beast entrenched in the earth, exuding an aura of sanctity and inviolability. On either side of the main gate stand two massive stone pillars, intricately carved with patterns and runes, seemingly recounting the Dali Temple's glorious history and mysterious mission.

Above the gate hung a massive plaque, inlaid with four gleaming golden characters: "Dali Temple." These four characters, like four brilliant stars, shone with the brilliance of solemnity and justice. As the sunlight streamed down, the gate of the Dali Temple reflected a dazzling light, inspiring awe.

Hua Qingcheng and Si Chengfeng walked side by side towards the front and entered the gate of the Dali Temple. Zuo An followed closely behind, while Feng Wen stayed behind to guard the carriage.

"Bang!"

When Hua Qingcheng and his group arrived at the Dali Temple court, Dali Temple Minister Yao Jinyu was angrily slamming the wooden hall and checking Si Lingyun's confession.
