December 14th, the capital of Laifeng Kingdom.
"Husband, if we cross this street, will we reach the Salesian Bureau?"
A woman wearing plain clothes and a straw hairpin, who looked to be about twenty-five or twenty-six years old, gently tugged at the burly man dressed as a hunter beside her, with an anxious look on her face.
Tianji held his wife's hand with his large hand, and conveyed his comfort to her through the warmth of his palm: "Arong, don't worry. That lady just said so. I believe it should be here soon."
Today marks the twentieth day since their daughter Tianzheyi went missing. Ten days ago, they entered Laifeng State as traveling merchants from a small border town in Zhaoyang State.
On the border of Chaoyang Province in Laifeng State, Tianji and his wife were once robbed by bandits. Coincidentally, the bandits happened to be under the command of Gong Yanan, Wang Zhenyi's junior schoolmate.
The bandit who was beaten up, after learning that this vicious man had lost his daughter, revealed to him the news that their daughter might have been captured in Xiangyang Temple in the capital of Laifeng Kingdom, and was lucky enough to escape.
Holding this only hope, Tianji and Lü Furong rushed from the border to the capital. Along the way, the couple slept in the open air and could not sleep at night, just hoping to find their daughter as soon as possible.
Since her daughter went missing, Arong has hardly had a good night's sleep. Whenever she closes her eyes, she dreams of her daughter Tianzheyi, covered in blood, crying for help.
Tianji, of course, wasn't much better. He was already impatient, and upon learning his daughter might be at Xiangyang Temple, he wished he could grow wings and fly there. If Ah Rong hadn't kept trying to dissuade him, warning him that his impulsiveness would lead to his own collapse before he even found his daughter, he would have rushed to Xiangyang Temple and fought those Taoists to the death.
The two supported each other and headed north. However, on the way, they saw a notice posted by the government, informing them that the children trapped in Xiangyang Temple had been rescued and placed in the city's Children's Hospital.
So, Tianji and his wife abandoned their plan to go to Xiangyang Temple in the northern suburbs of the city and went straight into the city. After making several inquiries, they finally arrived at the Ciyou Bureau at 3:30 pm today.
Looking at the busy streets, Tianji and his wife were filled with anticipation and nervousness. Finally, Tianji took a deep breath, took Arong's hand, and walked towards the door of the Charity Bureau.
"stop!"
"Who is coming?"
Two sword-wielding guards waiting at the door of the Charity Bureau stopped the Tianji couple, who looked very unfamiliar.
"My lords, we have come here from the border of Zhaoyang State. Our daughter was lost twenty days ago. A few days ago, we saw a notice posted by the government saying that about two hundred abducted children were placed in the Children's Charity Bureau in the capital city. So my husband and I rushed here day and night." Tianji bowed to the two guards guarding the gate and explained.
The two guards at the gate exchanged glances, and one of them looked Tianji up and down. Seeing that he was dusty and haggard, he did not seem to be faking it, so he relaxed his expression.
"If you want to claim your child, please go over there and register. Please describe your child's name, gender, age, physical features, etc. in detail. If there is a match, we will arrange for someone to verify it in time. Also, don't forget to leave your name and address so that we can notify you in time." A guard at the gate pointed to a middle-aged woman sitting beside the door of the Charity Bureau and said expressionlessly.
"Husband~"
Lu Furong's hand tightly grabbed Tianji's arm with such force that it seemed as if she wanted to crush his arm bones.
Her heart was beating like a frightened deer, darting around in her chest, threatening to leap out of her throat. This was their last hope. If they still couldn't find Tian Zheyi, she didn't know how to face the consequences. With so many people around, where would they go to find their daughter?
"Arong, don't be afraid, we will definitely find Zheyi." Tianji felt his wife's anxiety and patted her hand gently. Although Tianji's voice was low, it was full of determination.
Lü Furong nodded slightly. Although she was still filled with anxiety, she also knew that their journey had not been easy and they could not be cowardly at this moment. She took a deep breath and then followed Tianji to the side to register.
"Name?"
The middle-aged woman sitting at the gate of the Salesian Bureau asked in a businesslike manner when she saw someone coming to register.
"Tian Zheyi." Lu Furong responded with a little trepidation.
"Heaven...heaven what?"
Li Fang, the former housekeeper of the villa and current manager of the Charity Bureau, who was originally a little drowsy, disappeared instantly when she heard the name "Tianzheyi".
This is the person her master specifically told her to pay attention to. After waiting for so many days, someone finally came to find Tian Zheyi. How could she not be excited?
"My surname is Tian, the sky's Tian, my name is Zheyi, the double Ji Zhe, the Yi of the woman." Feeling his wife's uneasiness, Tianji shook her hand and answered the middle-aged woman.
"Describe your gender, age, physical features, etc. The more detailed the better..." Li Fang suppressed her excitement and thought about checking everything that needed to be checked first, so as to avoid having a duplicate name and making her master happy for nothing.
"Female, six and a half years old, about this tall..." Tianji described everything about Tianzheyi in detail.
"May I know your names?"
Seeing that the basic information matched, Li Fang's attitude towards Tianji and his wife suddenly became more respectful. If nothing unexpected happened, these two people should be the ones the master was looking for.
Tianji bowed slightly to Li Fang and said, "I am Tianji, and this is my wife, Lv Furong. We are Tian Zheyi's parents."
