Chapter 83: Martial Arts Competition

Laifeng Kingdom, the fifth year of Baofeng, on the third day of the third month. Lianxing, who lived in the backyard of the Yuheng Commandery, successfully gave birth to quadruplets, two girls and two boys.

In March of the seventh year of the Baofeng reign, Situ Wanqing, having completed her three-year term as prefect of Yuheng Commandery, returned to the capital with her family after celebrating her children's second birthday. Her arrival caused a sensation in the capital, with officials speculating about what position the emperor would assign her.

On April 1st, Wen Siyin, the former Grand Secretary of the Hanlin Academy, retired and returned home. Situ Wanqing became the new Grand Secretary of the Hanlin Academy. Together with her mother, Situ Luoyun, they became known as the "Big and Small Situ," serving together in the imperial court. Their talent and wisdom were highly praised, and they became important figures in the court.

One year later. (That is, the eighth year of Baofeng, April 5th.)

In the capital of Laifeng Kingdom, there is the Prime Minister’s Mansion and Qingxin Courtyard.

"Yansheng, are they really asleep?" Yuwen Tianqi, dressed in formal attire and about to go out, asked in a low voice. His eyes revealed a hint of worry and caution.

Yansheng nodded and replied softly, "Master, Miss Ling'er and the master have gone to the shop. The two young ladies and the young master are taking a nap."

Yuwen Tianqi heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing this, secretly glad that he didn't have to face the children's noise. He tiptoed out of the house to play with the nobles and enjoy the rare leisure time.

However, just as he stepped out of Qingxin Courtyard, four small figures immediately flew towards him like cannonballs, some pulling his hands, some hugging his legs tightly. This sudden attack caught Yuwen Tianqi off guard and he almost fell to the ground.

“Grandpa, grandpa, grandpa, grandpa…”

The four little guys surrounded Yuwen Tianqi and kept shouting, their voices rising and falling like a chaotic symphony. Their faces were filled with excitement and anticipation, and their eyes were shining with joy.

Yuwen Tianqi felt as if five hundred ducks were quacking simultaneously in his ears, making a cacophony of noise. He smiled helplessly and gently patted the little ones on the head, trying to calm them down. But the children didn't seem to want to stop making such noise. Instead, they gathered around him even more excitedly, chattering non-stop.

Yuwen Tianqi secretly groaned in his heart. His originally planned trip was instantly shattered. Looking at the group of lovely children in front of him, he loved them but felt helpless.

When he thought about Xifu being pregnant with twins, Yuwen Tianqi no longer had any thoughts of finding a concubine for his daughter. After all, she alone could produce as many children as several other men.

At the same time, on the Yulin Army training ground in the city, two figures, one red and one black, crossed each other like a gust of wind, and the fierce competition attracted attention.

The man, about sixteen or seventeen years old, dressed in a black suit, had a cold, icy gaze, revealing a resolute and decisive attitude. His movements were agile, his attacks swift and precise, like a black panther striking out, unstoppable.

The woman, looking about fifteen or sixteen, was dressed in a red and black outfit, with a golden headband. She was a valiant figure, like a blooming red lotus. Her movements were light and agile, her figure graceful yet powerful. Her eyes gleamed with a clever and cunning glint, and she met the man's attack fearlessly.

Their moves echoed each other, fists and palms intertwined, energy overflowed, and the exchanges were spectacular. Their figures gleamed brightly in the sunlight, drawing waves of cheers from the soldiers.

The man's punches were fierce and ferocious, each one accompanied by a whistling sound, as if tearing the air apart. His steps were steady and powerful, and his moves were unpredictable and difficult to grasp.

The woman responded with palm techniques. Her palms were extremely flexible and seemed soft and weak, but the power contained within them could not be underestimated. Her movements were graceful and elegant, as natural and smooth as flowing water.

In this fierce contest, both sides were evenly matched, with neither easily gaining the upper hand. Their strength and skills were fully demonstrated, leaving the watching soldiers in awe.

"Miss Feng, brother, it's time for lunch!"

Just as the two were locked in a fierce fight, a handsome man in white came over, carrying a food basket. He looked at the two on the training ground with a smile as warm as spring breeze on his face.

"Ayou!" Seeing his younger brother coming, Shan Zuo immediately retracted his strength, came down from the training ground, and came to Shan You.

"Ayou, you are so punctual. You deliver lunch at noon every day without fail." Feng Qiyan looked at the elegant white figure and raised her eyebrows teasingly.

"This is my duty, and I dare not slack off in the slightest." Shan You said with a smile.

"Commander Shan and Commander Feng, you are so lucky to have such a good food. We are really envious of you!" A soldier also joked.

After that soldier started, the other soldiers also joined in the commotion.

Shan Zuoyi turned his head to look at the Yulin soldiers who were taking a break, frowned, and shouted sternly: "Go away, go away! If you keep talking nonsense, you will have to run ten laps around the training ground for me!"

“不敢了!不敢了!”那名带头起哄的士兵笑道,“再说恐怕凤统领也会揍我们的,然后把我们的单统领娶回家生孩子,届时那我们可就没人训练了!”

"You talk so much nonsense!" Shan Zuo's cheeks turned slightly red, and then she turned around and made a gesture towards the soldiers as if she was going to kick them, and everyone immediately scattered.

"Azu, I think you, the commander of the Yulin Army, are much more powerful than me, the commander of the imperial guards!" Feng Qiyan looked at the group of soldiers and looked at Shan Zuo with envy.

Upon hearing this, Shan Zuo crossed his arms, raised his eyebrows slightly, and looked at Feng Qiyan with a teasing look on his face: "So... this is why you have nothing better to do than to come to the training ground to compete with me?"
