Chapter 20

He went to several markets, and finally, a man in a suit with slicked-back hair called out to him.

"You deliver?"

Bai Li stopped, looked up at the man, and used her cat-like hypnosis technique: "Yes, yes, do you have any goods to deliver?"

"Yes, I have."

The man looked to be in his forties and had a kind face. When you spoke to him, he took the initiative to squat down.

"I have quite a lot of goods here, and I have to deliver a lot every day."

The man looked him up and down as he spoke, "You're so small, how can you have any strength?"

"some!"

Bai Li, with a serious expression on her round face, said earnestly, "I used to pull a trailer, a very, very heavy trailer."

Upon hearing this, the man smiled and said, "I remember now. Look, isn't that you, the cat in this video?"

Bai Li was stunned. He looked at the phone the man handed him, which was playing a video.

In the video, a white kitten is pulling a trailer.

"It's me."

Bai Li tilted her head: "How did I end up here?"

The man smiled and said, "Someone took a picture of it, but I don't know why it was deleted. However, I have a copy saved."

"If it's you, I can hire you."

Upon hearing this, Bai Li's eyes immediately lit up, and he said in a cheerful tone, "I'm not expensive, and I'm fast. You won't lose out by hiring me."

The man was a shrewd businessman; naturally, he wouldn't do business that would lose money.

He smiled and said, "Come with me, let's talk about your job and salary."

Bai Li followed closely behind him, the sign around her neck still on. He was thinking ahead; if they didn't reach an agreement later, he'd have to keep looking for work with the sign still hanging around his neck.

Not long after.

Bai Li was taken to a seafood restaurant with a wide variety of aquatic products?

"Meow?"

Bai Li was stunned. Was he supposed to send him seafood?

The man pointed to the seafood in the shop and explained, "The seafood I sell here is very expensive. Most of the wealthy people buy from me regularly."

“Traditional delivery methods are no longer novel; many wealthy people just love novelty.”

"So, they'll definitely find it interesting that you're delivering the goods."

"If they're happy, my business will be easier. The tips you receive and the salary I pay you won't be low."

"This is a win-win situation."

The man spoke eloquently, but Bai Li looked at him expectantly, only asking, "How much salary do I get?"

"Depending on your performance, I will set up a probationary period."

"During the probation period, it's 100 a day. After the half-month probation period, once you're officially hired, it'll start at 200 a day, and there might be further increases later. Also, when you deliver goods, I won't take any tips the customers give you; you can keep them all."

When Bai Li heard about the salary, the whole cat was stunned.

One hundred during the probation period, two hundred after becoming a full-time employee, plus a raise.

He's going to become a super-rich cat!

The man not only spoke well, but he also squatted down and patted Bai Li's head: "I'll write you a contract with legal effect. See if you know anyone who can help you with it."

"I've been in business for so long, and I've always valued integrity."

Bai Li nodded, searched her mind for a moment, and finally settled on the gentleman.

"I'll find a doctor to take a look at me."

"OK."

The man was efficient; after reaching an agreement with him, I took him directly to draft the contract.

"I'll be waiting for you at the store tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. If you're willing to do this job, we'll sign a contract."

"If you're really worried, you can bring someone with you."

It has to be said that this man is quite honest. After the two left the store, he was even prepared to personally escort Bai Li back, but Bai Li declined.

“I can run back.”

Bai Li didn't get in his car. After politely saying goodbye, she ran back home.

It was only a little past four o'clock, and Bai Li thought that her husband was still busy and definitely not at home.

He thought about it for a while, and finally decided to go to see the gentleman.

The future boss gave him the contract, and Bai Li, overjoyed, didn't want to waste a moment. He wanted to show the contract to the boss.

With a contract, the boss won't cheat him out of his wages like the unscrupulous boss at the brickyard.

Bai Li was eager to find the teacher, but he was a little confused about where the teacher was.

Finally, Bai Li found out by asking the housekeeper at the villa.

Not long after, a round little kitten peeked out from the security guard's line of sight at the entrance of the Xie Group.

As luck would have it, two of the security guards at the gate had seen Bai Li before.

When they followed Xie Chen to the urban village to rescue cats, they had a deep memory of the little kitten that jumped into Xie Chen's arms and was taken away by him.

"Do you want to come in?"

One of the security guards smiled kindly at him and said, "Don't be afraid, I won't stop you."

They didn't dare stop the little guy being held and coaxed in his husband's arms.

Bai Li was still a little scared. The Xie Group's building was huge and impressive; he had never been to such a place before.

The security guard noticed his fear and deliberately made way for him, pretending to look elsewhere.

Sure enough, after they stepped aside for a short while, Bai Li rushed straight in like a cannonball.

The security guard watched the kitten dart away and disappear in a flash, chuckling, "Hey, do you think this little kitten will ever find a teacher?"

The Xie family's building has many floors, and their husband's office is on a high floor with a private elevator.

If this little kitten, who's visiting for the first time, were to wander in unsuspectingly, it would be like entering a maze.

The security guard was right. Bai Li ran into the lobby, pressed herself against the wall, and looked at the spacious and bright interior with a bewildered expression.

This place... is so big.

Bai Li sniffed, trying to catch the man's scent, but it was a bit difficult.

"Sister Huang, look over there, isn't there a cat hiding there?"

A woman's voice rang out not far away. Bai Li, who was trying to find her way, reflexively looked up and her eyes met the voice.

His chubby body stiffened for a moment, then he stepped back to the side and seized the opportunity to start running again.

Without a cell phone or a loudspeaker to shout out her message, Bai Li had to resort to the most primitive and clumsy method to find Xie Chen.

A thorough, exhaustive search!

Bai Li's run instantly attracted the attention of the people who had been watching him.

"It really is a cat."

The speaker's voice became agitated: "How did a cat get into the company?! What's going on with the security guards? Get it out of here right now!"

"I'm so annoyed by cats."

As the impatient voice continued to ring out, Bai Li turned around and saw a woman in a skirt chasing after her.

He panicked and became even more disoriented.

Fortunately, he was small and easy to hide. After deliberately crawling under the table, he managed to shake off his pursuers.

The company has many departments, and Bai Li was afraid of being discovered, so she only dared to move around cautiously.

I don't know how much time passed.

Bai Li, still unable to find Xie Chen, hung her head in frustration.

"Meow."

I want to go back.

But there were many people coming and going outside, so Bai Li didn't dare to go out at this time. If the annoying cat saw him, it might beat him up.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, Bai Li finally saw the cardboard boxes piled up in the warehouse and simply crawled into one of them.

Cats like cardboard boxes, yarn balls, and scratching posts.

We're down the mountain now, and there's nothing else that meets our needs except for cardboard boxes, which are relatively easy to find.

He picked out a box that was neither too big nor too small, and crawled inside. After crawling in, he even pulled the box securely, so from a distance, you couldn't tell at all that there was a cat inside.

The cardboard box was dark. Bai Li wanted to take a nap so that when everyone got off work, he could wait for his teacher.

Kittens sleep a lot; an ordinary kitten with nothing to do will sleep most of the day.

In her sweet sleep, Bai Li dreamed of the scene on Monster Mountain.

In my dream, there seemed to be a little boy who was sick and about to die.

He was being held tightly by the little boy, who wouldn't let go no matter what he did.

Bai Li couldn't see the little boy's face clearly, but she remembered that his voice was very nice and that he could sing; he even composed a cat song for him.

"Meow."

Bai Li, listening to the song "Cat in My Dreams," closed her eyes and meowed unconsciously.

Time passed slowly, and perhaps Bai Li was too attached to his time with the little boy in his dream, so he slept for a long time.

When Bai Li woke up again, she realized that she had overslept.

He shook his head, sat up from the cardboard box, and sat there for a long while before he finally came to his senses.

It must be dark outside.

Bai Li shook her head and tried to climb out of the cardboard box, but she couldn't move it; it seemed as if the box was stuck to something.

"Meow!"

Bai Li exclaimed in confusion, "Meow!"

There are cats in the box.

The meows rang out one after another, but no one heard them.

It turns out that the boxes in the warehouse were originally filled with items. Bai Li's empty box was a mistake; the person who came to the warehouse that afternoon simply sealed it up.

These items are all new seasonal cosmetics delivered by Xie's factories.

And coincidentally, they regularly send these new products to celebrities and others they have collaborated with, especially those in the same city or nearby, just to deliver them to them.

While Bai Li was fast asleep, she was sent out without even realizing it.

Bai Li, completely unaware of the danger, would have suffocated if the box hadn't had holes in it.

On the other side.

When Xie Chen returned home, he was met with Xie Bo's question: "Why didn't you bring Lili back?"

Xie Chen frowned: "What?"

Uncle Xie looked behind him and was puzzled to see that no cats had followed him.

“Lili came to see you this afternoon, but I told her you were at the company, so she went to your company instead.”

Xie Chen: "?"

Xie Chen frowned even more deeply.

He hasn't seen the kitten since he went to the company in the afternoon.

"I'm going back to the company."

Xie Chen turned and left. Not long after he left, he called the security guard who had been at the company entrance during the day.

Did my cat come to the office today?

"Yes."

The security guard replied respectfully, "We saw him enter the company."

"Did you see him come out?" Xie Chen's heart sank, and he asked in a cold voice.

The security guards looked at each other and shook their heads: "No, no."

After they put the cat in, they didn't pay any more attention to it. It was the husband's cat, and it was on his property. They thought that if the cat made any noise inside, the husband would easily find out.

But to their surprise, Bai Li was too well-behaved and didn't cause any big commotion.

Xie Chen rubbed his temples, returned to the company with a cold face, and notified the people in the monitoring room to check the afternoon's surveillance video for him.

now.

The cardboard box, sealed with tape, was finally being opened with scissors.
