Chapter 217 You bullied my brother!

Chapter 217 You bullied my brother!

New guests arrived at the entrance of the Marshal's Mansion.

The man was dressed in a suit, wearing silver-rimmed glasses, and had a refined and scholarly air about him. He was gentle and elegant, with a friendly smile on his face.

"Excuse me," Shen Zhaolin said, holding an invitation. "I would like to visit your young lady."

In the small living room, separated by a transparent glass window, the ladies sat or stood, looking for things to do, but their eyes couldn't help but glance out at the yard.

"Shen Zhaolin?"

Why would he come?

"I've only ever seen him curse people in the newspapers. Isn't cursing them in the newspapers enough? Does he have to curse them to their faces?"

"The commander-in-chief isn't home, so he must be looking for Mao Mao."

The ladies forgot about their work and rushed to the French windows, staring wide-eyed out the window.

In the courtyard, Shen Zhaolin and Mao Mao sat under a parasol on a chair.

After the guard at the gate announced the arrival, Mao Mao came out to greet the guest. It was a matter of etiquette to entertain guests, and since this was Mao Mao's friend, none of the ladies dared to compete with her for him.

However, after entertaining the guest, Mao Mao did not invite him into the house, but only let him sit in the courtyard, without even stepping into the house. She did not look at the guest once, nor did she say a word. After sitting down, she lowered her head and played with her fingers, as if her fingers were some rare treasure.

The ladies, looking completely bewildered through the floor-to-ceiling windows, simply had their maids bring them tea while they peeked through the glass. Unfortunately, separated by the glass, they could only see two people's mouths moving; they couldn't hear a single word.

Strange, why is Mao Mao entertaining her friends like this?

Shen Zhaolin encountered his friend's cold shoulder again. Once, twice, and by the third time, he had gotten used to it.

Instead of asking for the reason, he directly handed over the invitation he had prepared.

“Mao Mao, do you remember when you said you would celebrate my birthday too?” Shen Zhaolin said with a smile, “Today, I’m here to deliver an invitation. I sincerely invite you to my home for my birthday party.”

Of course Mao Mao remembers!

She has a great memory. As soon as Uncle Shen mentioned it, she immediately remembered the promise she made on her birthday.

But, but...

Back then, she and Uncle Shen were still friends, so attending a friend's birthday party was no problem. But now, she's broken off all contact with Uncle Shen!

Shen Zhaolin continued, “I plan to hire an opera troupe to perform at my house for a whole day. I’ve also ordered a cream cake from a bakery; you might like it. Oh, by the way, I also want to introduce you to my family. I have many nephews and nieces, some of whom are about your age. Perhaps you could become friends with them.”

Mao Mao listened with great interest and longing.

A theatrical troupe! A cake! Children about the same age as Mao Mao!

They really hit the nail on the head; every single one of them made her heart flutter.

But that won't work. Mao Mao has already broken off all ties with Uncle Shen.

"I'm not going." Mao Mao played with her fingers and whispered, "Mao Mao isn't going."

Shen Zhaolin was taken aback.

"But didn't we already make an agreement?"

Yes, they had already made an agreement.

If you don't keep your word, you'll turn into a puppy, and Mao Mao definitely doesn't want to turn into a puppy!

But Mao Mao is her brother's best sister and his loyal little bodyguard. She promised to stand by her brother's side and hate Uncle Shen. Even if she turns into a puppy, she can't go back on her word.

Mao Mao's eyes also became wet and watery like a puppy's. When she raised her head to look over, they were like a clear spring, making people's hearts soften.

"I'm not going."

Mao Mao firmly stated, "Mao Mao is not going!"

Shen Zhaolin was genuinely puzzled: "Mao Mao, is there something you're unhappy about? The opera troupe? The cake?"

Mao Mao shook her head.

"Or do you think there are too many people? If you mind, I can hold another small one. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I only invite family members to my birthday party, no outsiders. If you count them up, the number of people is only a fraction of the number of people on your day."

Mao Mao still shook her head.

"So……"

"No, not at all!" Mao Mao clenched her fists and said angrily, "It was you who bullied my brother!"

Shen Zhaolin was completely stunned.

Bully?

Who are you bullying?

Before he could even figure out the relationship, the little girl in front of him solemnly and loudly declared in her sweet, childlike voice, "Uncle, you bullied my brother! I'm not friends with you anymore! I'll turn into a puppy and not go to your birthday party!"

Mao Mao: "Hmph!"

"Wait, wait!" Shen Zhaolin was at a loss, looking at her in a panic: "Mao Mao? What bullying? I don't understand what you mean?"

Mao Mao: "Hmph!"

"You mean Lou Yansui? Me? I bullied him?"

Mao Mao's eyes widened, and she glared at him fiercely: "Uncle, my mother said that if you do something wrong, you have to admit it."

Shen Zhaolin: "..."

Was he hit on the head and lost his memory? Why doesn't he know anything about it?

He adjusted his glasses, which were about to fall off, and asked sincerely, "Mao Mao, I really don't understand. Could you explain it to me in a clearer way?"

"hold head high?"

Mao Mao tilted her head, her raised eyebrows gradually lowering as she looked at him with a puzzled expression: "Uncle, you don't know?"

"I really don't know." Shen Zhaolin: "Who told you that?"

"My brother said so."

"..."

“My brother said it himself!” Mao Mao said seriously, “My brother is unhappy and he’s not doing his homework. He said he’s disappointed in you and doesn’t like you anymore. So, Mao Mao doesn’t like you either and won’t be your friend.”

Shen Zhaolin remained seated, stunned.

...

Haicheng Middle School.

Jiang Cheng stepped into the office: "Teacher Shen, you wanted to see me?"

"Oh, Jiang Cheng." Shen Zhaolin brought him a chair. "Please sit down."

Jiang Cheng scratched his head: "Teacher Shen, is there something you need? Just tell me, class is about to start."

"The teacher does have something to ask you."

After hesitating for a few seconds, Shen Zhaolin simply asked, "Did I do something wrong?"

"Teacher Shen?"

“You and Lou Yansui are usually very close, you probably know that.” Shen Zhaolin humbly asked for advice: “Those involved are often blinded by their own perspective. I would like to know if I have done anything wrong that may have hurt Lou Yansui’s feelings. Please point it out.”

Jiang Cheng was stunned for a moment, then suddenly raised his hand to cover his mouth: "Oh my god."

"Jiang Cheng?"

"Teacher Shen, so you didn't do it on purpose?" Jiang Cheng said incredulously. "We always thought that you didn't choose Ah Sui as a teaching assistant because you disliked Ah Sui's father."
