Chapter 118 Building a Snowman
The next day, the world was covered in a blanket of white frost.
Mao Mao poked her little head out of the warm blankets, still half asleep and not fully awake, and got up on her own.
Lou Yansui was snuggled in her blankets, fast asleep, when she suddenly felt a chill creep into the blankets. Then, she felt a weight on her chest as a round, warm little body snuggled up to her.
"elder brother!"
"elder brother!"
Mao Mao shouted loudly in his ear, "Brother, let's build a snowman!"
Lou Yansui: "..."
He had no choice but to wake up, whether he wanted to or not.
Lou Yansui rubbed her eyes sleepily: "Mao Mao, why did you wake up so early..."
"Brother, let's build a snowman!"
Not only did Mao Mao wake up early, but she was also incredibly lively today.
She crawled out of bed, the chilly weather unable to dampen her enthusiasm. She slid down the edge of the bed to the floor, then ran barefoot to the window. When she saw the snow-covered landscape outside, she let out a joyful cheer.
Mao Mao ran back, her little face beaming with excitement, and raised her little hand high, wanting her brother to dress her.
The winter clothes were too thick for her to put on by herself.
Once she was wrapped up in a round ball, she couldn't wait to run outside.
"Wait, Mao Mao!" Lou Yansui grabbed her little socks: "You're not wearing socks yet!"
Lou Hongjian was also woken up by his younger sister sitting on him.
Before he woke up, Mao Mao's cold little hand slapped his face, and he shuddered and opened his eyes.
The first thing you see is a chubby, sweet, smiling face.
"Maomao?!"
Mao Mao sat on his stomach and reached out her little hand to pull him: "Brother, let's build a snowman!"
Lou Hongjian: "...Huh?"
His slow-witted mind worked for a long time before he finally remembered that he had promised to build a snowman for his sister yesterday.
but……
He glanced at the Western-style wall clock not far away.
"It's too early." Lou Hongjian rolled up the blanket, wrapped himself up again, and closed his eyes. "It's so cold. If I sleep a little longer, the snow won't melt."
"elder brother!"
"elder brother!"
"Get up!"
"Let's build a snowman with Mao Mao!"
The baby's voice calling out repeatedly in my ear chased away my sleepiness.
Most importantly, Mao Mao not only called him, but also tried to pull at his blanket. A chill crept in through the gaps, and Lou Hongjian had no choice but to get up.
He glanced out the window, and all he could see was white snow. So he opened the wardrobe and wrapped himself up from head to toe in a hat, scarf, and gloves.
Half an hour later, the three siblings, fully armed, stood at the gate.
A cold wind carrying snow pellets blew by, making people shiver.
Lou Hongjian: "It's so cold!"
Lou Yansui yawned wearily.
It's too early; the rest of the family hasn't gotten up yet.
Mao Mao, standing beside her, cheered and excitedly took her short legs to run out.
"Wait, Mao Mao, wait a minute." Lou Yansui pulled her back: "You're not wearing shoes yet!"
Okay, okay.
Mao Mao had no choice but to sit back in the entryway, laboriously raising her little feet so that her brother could put her shoes on.
Ever since she saw the snowflakes yesterday, she's been in an incredibly good mood, and it's continued until now. It's reached its peak right now, and her little feet, which are sticking up, are swaying back and forth like little bees flying around. Lou Yansui had to catch them several times before he finally managed to put the shoes on her feet.
As soon as she put on her shoes, Mao Mao couldn't wait to pounce out.
Her feet sank into the snow.
"Huh?"
Mao Mao looked down and saw that her shoes were buried in the snow.
She struggled to lift her short legs and put them down to the side, creating another deep hole.
Mao Mao was stunned.
"Brother." She turned her head blankly. "Your feet were eaten."
"It's not that your feet get eaten; the snow is soft."
Lou Yansui took her little hand and said, "Mao Mao, be careful. There's too much snow, and the road is difficult to walk on. Hold on tight to me."
Mao Mao obediently replied, "Okay."
Not to be outdone, Lou Hongjian took her other small hand.
After a night, the courtyard became very unfamiliar. The grass and trees were covered with white snow, and even the fountain in the yard was frozen. The snow was ten centimeters deep, and Mao Mao would sink into it as soon as she stepped on it.
When they encountered areas with thick snow, her two older brothers would grab her little hands and lift her across like she was on a swing.
Mao Mao giggled happily: "More! Brother, one more time!"
Lou Yansui was in poor health and only accompanies her on the swing twice before giving up. Lou Hongjian took over the task, becoming a human swing and swinging his sister around the courtyard for a long time.
When he put it down, he shook his arm and felt a tingling sensation.
Lou Hongjian looked at the round little bundle on the ground and muttered to himself, "Mao Mao, aren't you wearing a bit too much..."
Mao Mao stared at him with her big, round eyes, looking completely innocent.
Mother said to wear warm clothes!
Lou Yansui scooped up a clump of snow from the ground: "Mao Mao, let's build a snowman."
"Okay, okay!"
Mao Mao ran over happily.
The grandfather clock in the hall chimed a few times, and the other people in the house gradually got up.
As soon as they came in, they heard laughter and noise outside.
Lou Fengju looked out the window and saw his younger siblings running around outside. He picked up his hot tea and took a sip: "They're so lively. How can Ah Hong get up so early?"
“Mao Mao is always excited when she sees snow for the first time,” Lou Heming replied. “I remember when Asui was little, it snowed in Haicheng. Back then, he would come to wake us up before dawn to play, but it wasn’t as heavy as it is today.”
Such heavy snow is a rare sight in Haicheng. Not to mention the three younger siblings, even the two older brothers were itching to go.
Seeing that they had plenty of time before work, the two quickly finished their breakfast and joined in.
Lou Hongjian is helping his younger sister build a snowman.
He is an artist, which gives him a unique advantage; even his snowballs are round and large.
"Look, Mao Mao." Lou Hongjian pinched a ball of snow, fiddled with it a few times, and it turned into a cat's head: "Look at the kitten."
Mao Mao: "Wow!"
Her eyes lit up: "Brother is amazing!"
"Mao Mao, look again."
Lou Hongjian picked up another clump of snow from the ground, mysteriously rolled it into a ball, squeezed it, and held it in his palm before presenting it to Mao Mao: "Guess this..."
A snowball flew from a distance and hit him squarely in the back.
He stumbled forward, almost falling headlong into the snow, and the snowball he had painstakingly shaped shattered into pieces.
Lou Hongjian turned around angrily: "Who is it?!"
Not far away, Lou Fengju held a newly formed snowball and raised an eyebrow at him with ill intent.
Then, another snowball flew over.
Lou Hongjian: "..."
Lou Hongjian dodged awkwardly to the side: "Big brother, don't hit Mao Mao!"
"Don't worry, I'm accurate."
I still have the strength.
No matter how far Lou Hongjian hides, the snowball always hits him squarely.
In no time, he looked as if he had just been dug out of the snow, with even the strands of his hair covered in snow.
We can't hide any longer; we have to launch a counterattack.
Lou Hongjian grabbed a handful of snow from the ground and rushed towards Lou Fengju.
Watching the two brothers start their snowball fight, Lou Heming shook his head. He glanced at his watch, saw that it was still early, put down his briefcase, and went to his younger brother and sister's side.
"Ah Sui, Mao Mao, I'll help you pile it up."
With her little belly sticking out and her little head held high, Mao Mao stood up straight, serving as a reference for her older brothers: "They need to be this big as Mao Mao!"
"Okay, let's make a snowman that's even taller than Mao Mao."
Lou Heming gestured: "A-Sui, sit this high for your lower body first."
Not far away, Lou Hongjian, whose counterattack had failed, had been suppressed by his elder brother. A clump of snow was thrown down his collar, causing him to let out a miserable wail.
Lou Feng raised his knee and pressed it against his younger brother's waist, like apprehending a fugitive, subduing him in the snow. His arm muscles bulged, pinning Lou Hongjian to the ground, where he struggled but could not escape.
Lou Fengju smiled arrogantly: "Ah Hong, you still want to fight me? You're really overestimating yourself."
Lou Hongjian struggled several times, getting covered in snow, before finally giving up.
"Brother, you wait, I'll start working out tomorrow." He said defiantly, "One day, I'll make you my defeated opponent."
Lou Fengju raised an eyebrow, not taking it to heart: "You'd better be."
Without a doubt, without even waiting until tomorrow, his fighting spirit will soon be worn down by the cold.
Having bullied his younger brother enough, he let go and pulled Lou Hongjian up from the ground.
Although he wanted to continue playing, his adjutant had already driven the jeep to the door, and there was a lot of work waiting for him. Lou Fengju took the military cap handed to him by the adjutant, glanced in the direction of his younger siblings, and regretfully got into the car.
Behind him, Lou Hongjian grinned and reached into his clothes.
The snowballs that had been thrown in had melted from his body heat and were wet. He couldn't touch them; instead, his own icy hands were freezing him.
But when the counterattack failed, they were instead bullied, which was really frustrating.
My older brother has already left for work, and besides, he can't beat my older brother.
Lou Hongjian's eyes darted around and he spotted a trio of siblings building a snowman not far away.
Over there, life is peaceful and serene, and the snowman is beginning to take shape.
He bent down and scooped up a ball of snow, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
"Second brother, watch me!"
Lou Heming turned his head upon hearing the sound.
A snowball came flying at me.
With a thud, Mao Mao, who was proudly posing as a model for her older brother, fell to the ground in the snow.
Lou Yansui roared, "Third Brother!!!"
