Chapter 327 We'll be family for life
Haicheng Park.
As a large park in Haicheng, it boasts beautiful scenery and is a popular leisure destination for the people of Haicheng.
Today is a holiday, and the park is packed with visitors. Some are picnicking and playing on the flat lawn, others are boating on the lake, and art students are setting up easels to sketch. Children are running around, and kites are flying all over the sky.
Mao Mao ran past from the side.
Her short legs happily carried her toward the lake, where flocks of ducks paddled on the surface and boats were moored along the shore for people to enjoy.
"Daddy, Uncle!" Mao Mao's happy little voice came from inside: "Come quick!"
The three people behind quickly caught up.
Boating is a popular activity in the park, enjoyed by both families and couples. On a wide lake, two people can share a small boat and strengthen their bond over the course of the day.
Lou Dashuai took the lead and ran at the very front.
As soon as Mao Mao stopped at the boat stop, he immediately took Mao Mao's little hand and handed her money: "I want a boat."
Nie Zhengyun and Shen Zhaolin lagged behind for a step before catching up.
Although they didn't get the chance to pay, the two weren't discouraged at all, and said with smiles, "Then we'll benefit from Mr. Lou's generosity."
A boat can seat several people, and four people can share a boat.
Commander Lou: "You guys?"
Nie Zhengyun raised his eyebrows slightly.
Lou Dashuai smiled smugly, bent down to pick up Mao Mao from the ground, and strode straight to a small boat moored on the shore. He untied the ropes binding the boat, tossed them aside, grabbed the oars, and braced them against the shore.
"Um?"
Nie Zhengyun and Shen Zhaolin hurriedly followed.
But the two were a step too late. Lou Dashuai braced himself against the shore and pushed off, and the small boat drifted away. He quickly put down the oars and rowed a few strokes, and the small boat drifted with the waves to a distance that was beyond his reach.
"Trying to ride on my coattails?!" Commander Lou laughed loudly, rowing the boat vigorously. "Wait until your next life!"
Mao Mao, holding onto the edge of the small boat, was oblivious to the power struggle that had taken place. She happily waved her little hand at the two uncles on the shore, her chubby face full of innocent joy.
Watching Mao Mao and Lou Dashuai row away, getting further and further away from the shore, Nie Zhengyun and Shen Zhaolin looked back at each other.
Waiting for someone to return on the shore? Of course not!
Are we going to go boating with Nie Zhengyun/Shen Zhaolin?
Alas……
Rowing with a woman is romantic, rowing with Mao Mao is fun, but what's the point of two grown men rowing?
They're just unlucky.
Shen Zhaolin pinched his nose and took out his wallet. "Excuse me, we need a boat too."
Nie Zhengyun: "Mr. Shen, please wait a moment, I will be right back."
"What?"
Shen Zhaolin was puzzled. He watched as Nie Zhengyun looked around and walked in a certain direction. Not long after, Nie Zhengyun returned carrying a full load of food.
The park was crowded, and there were naturally many vendors setting up stalls. He picked out some easy-to-carry snacks and bought a little of each.
Shen Zhaolin suddenly realized: "Mr. Nie is brilliant."
Nie Zhengyun nodded: "Mr. Shen, you flatter me."
The two boarded the boat together, each taking a paddle, and chased after a boat that had already rowed far ahead.
Lou Dashuai rowed the boat with great effort, his sleeves rolled up, revealing his strong, muscular arms. With each stroke, he could easily propel the small boat a considerable distance.
Lou Dashuai boasted to his daughter, "How about that, Mao Mao? Isn't Daddy awesome?"
"Dad is amazing!"
Mao Mao responded loudly, "Daddy can row a small boat, that's amazing!"
"Haha, when I was young, I took your aunt boating with me on dates," Lou Dashuai said proudly. "After all these years, my rowing skills haven't gotten any worse. Next Dragon Boat Festival, Dad will go to the dragon boat race and win you first place!"
"Wow!" Mao Mao's little face was filled with admiration: "Daddy is number one!"
"Hahaha!"
Lou Dashuai's hearty laughter echoed across the lake.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a new boat swimming towards them from the shore. Commander Lou gave a dismissive snort and asked, "Mao Mao, should we go faster?"
Mao Mao asked in surprise, "Can it go even faster?"
"Of course, a small boat is no problem for your dad."
Lou Dashuai pointed to a family of three rowing a small boat in the distance: "How about we overtake them?"
"Okay!"
Mao Mao enthusiastically clapped for her dad, joining in the atmosphere: "Go, Dad!"
"Mao Mao, watch carefully!"
Lou Dashuai increased the speed of rowing, the waves parted to both sides, and with Mao Mao cheering them on, they quickly overtook the family of three in front of them, leaving them far behind.
From the small boat over there came the shouts of children: "Dad, we've been overtaken! Come on, Dad!"
The dad on the other side said, "I can't row anymore, I need to rest for a bit."
Mao Mao pursed her lips and secretly wiggled her little feet. The bow on her little leather shoes trembled like a little butterfly fluttering its wings.
Her dad is amazing!
Mao Mao turned around and asked with concern, "Dad, are you tired? Do you want to rest for a while?"
"Not tired at all," Lou Dashuai said in a strong voice. "This is nothing. Dad can still take you for a couple more laps around this lake."
"Mao Mao doesn't need to paddle twice." Mao Mao wiggled her little bottom and snuggled up to him, her small body leaning closer: "Mao Mao is enjoying the breeze with Daddy."
Lou Dashuai's heart melted instantly.
So he let go of the oars, stopped rowing, let the small boat drift with the waves, and took Mao Mao into his arms.
The weather was still a bit hot, but a cool breeze was blowing across the lake, and the temperature was just right.
Lou Dashuai, enjoying the cool breeze, held his sweet and soft little daughter in his arms. The two of them rode together in a small boat, drifting with the waves. The blue sky and lake water blended into one, giving the illusion that the whole world had shrunk to just the two of them.
He would have been even happier if he hadn't known that two people were about to catch up with him.
"Mao Mao." Commander Lou gently rocked his daughter in his arms, as if soothing a baby in a cradle: "Aren't you happy to come out and play with Daddy?"
"happy!"
"How about Daddy takes you out to play often from now on?"
"Hurrah!"
"Just the two of us, father and son, no one else is coming with us, just the two of us."
"Like today?"
"Of course not. There's more than just the two of us today." Lou Dashuai couldn't help but say, "Maomao, you only want one dad, not anyone else, okay?"
Mao Mao was puzzled: "Mao Mao only has one father."
From childhood to adulthood, she has never called anyone else "Dad".
The first word I uttered for "Dad" was "Big Handsome Dad."
Lou Dashuai grinned, a big, silly smile spreading across his dignified face.
"Yes, you're right!" he said cheerfully. "You only have one father. From now on, no matter who you meet, tell them that your father is Lou Wenshan, the warlord of the three provinces of East China. Your father alone can be your protector, and no one will dare to bully you!"
Mao Mao obediently said "Oh".
"Then Mao Mao will only ever be her father's child, and never be anyone else's child, okay?"
"Hurrah."
Mao Mao swung her little feet and said happily, "Mom has already said that Mao Mao will be Da Shuai's daughter. Dad, Grandma, Mom, and brothers are all good to Mao Mao, and Mao Mao is good to everyone too."
"dad."
"Why!"
Mao Mao tilted her little head back and looked at him with her big, dark eyes: "Then can you be Mao Mao's dad forever?"
"Of course!"
Lou Dashuai hugged her tightly: "You are my daughter, and even the King of Heaven himself couldn't take you away. Our family will always be together, no matter where we go, we will always be family."
"That's great!"
With sweet dimples appearing on her round little face, Mao Mao said, "Mao Mao loves Daddy, Grandma, Mommy, and brothers. Mao Mao wants to stay with everyone forever."
Lou Dashuai's heart was melting, turning into a pool of sweet sugar water, every bubble of which tasted sweet.
Oh dear!
How can a baby be so sweet!
He must have been a very kind person in his past life, that's why God sent him such a wonderful little daughter!
