Chapter 10 Third Sister-in-law Chi Beats and Scolds Tangtang

"What happened? Did you search everywhere? We told you all the right things, how could you still lose the child?" Aunt Chi asked anxiously, her tone tinged with resentment.

I told them repeatedly, how could they still lose the child!

Old Man Chi's face was clouded with worry, almost scrunched up like a bitter gourd: "I was buying meat with Xiao Wu and Xiao Suotou, while the eldest son went to buy grain. The eldest son's wife was watching Si Lang and Wu Lang, and then the third son's wife was wandering around with An An by herself! Who knows what she was doing?"

Sister-in-law Chi hurriedly added, "We've searched the whole market, but we still can't find An'an. We thought about going to the county government to ask the officials for help, but they wouldn't help, saying that the child might have sneaked out to play by herself! Now Dashan and Sanhe are still searching in the market, so Dad and I brought the children back first."

Don't let An'an get lost again before another one is found!

That would be a real loss.

Chi Wuhu jumped up and down anxiously, "Dad, please let me go to the market with my older brother and the others to look for it. I'm all grown up now, it'll be alright!"

Little Fifth Brother was full of enthusiasm, but his father and sister-in-law treated him like a child and insisted that he come back with them!

Before Old Man Chi could say anything, Third Sister-in-law Chi wiped away her tears and protested, "Dad, what time is it? No matter how young Xiao Wu is, he's still a person. Why can't we let him keep looking? And what about Eldest Sister-in-law!"

Third Sister-in-law Chi glared fiercely at First Sister-in-law Chi, her tone vicious: "So it wasn't your son who got lost, and you only let Eldest Brother and Sanhe search in town! Couldn't you have gone with them to search? Couldn't you have asked Father or Xiao Wu to help look for him?"

"Third brother's wife, how dare you talk like that? I told you not to take An'an to the market, but you insisted! You were the one who watched her get lost, and now that An'an is missing, who are you blaming? Your sister-in-law? Don't make me beat you up!"

Aunt Chi fiercely protects her eldest daughter-in-law!

In an instant, Sister-in-law Chi's indignation was soothed and she was comforted.

Who knew that at this moment, Sister-in-law Chi would see everyone as an enemy, unleash her full power, and blame everyone!

"Then who's to blame? Mother, you're right. If Tangtang hadn't cursed An'an, saying something bad would happen to An'an, would An'an have been lost? In my opinion, she's the troublemaker! What child is born like her, not crying and fussing, acting like they can understand human speech? She might be some kind of monster reincarnated..."

"Smack!"

Old Man Chi, without any hesitation, slapped her across the face with trembling hands.

The room immediately fell silent.

Chi Tang blinked innocently, somewhat bewildered, after being scolded.

What business is it of hers?

Why are they even cursing at her?

Third Sister-in-law Chi covered her face, for the first time no longer afraid. Her body was trembling, but her lips were moving as she cursed incessantly: "Father, how dare you hit me? If you hadn't arranged to go to the market and taken the child there, would this have happened? If An'an is missing today, or anything happens to him, Father, remember this: you're the one who killed your own grandson!"

You're the one who killed your own grandson!

You're the one who killed your own grandson!

These words, like a curse, echoed repeatedly in Old Man Chi's ears.

Old Man Chi's robust body seemed to suddenly hunch over, and his hands began to tremble uncontrollably.

"I……"

He wanted to defend himself.

But thinking about what An'an might do...

"Smack!"

Old Man Chi slapped himself hard across the face, then squatted down, his rough hands covering his face, his shoulders trembling...

The muffled, whimpering sound was as if something was stuck in your throat.

"ah!"

Chi Tang cried out, her pink little hands clenched into fists, and she angrily waved them in the direction of Third Sister-in-law Chi!

Aunt Chi felt sorry for her husband and was about to scold him when she saw her usually docile and easy-going eldest daughter-in-law kick Sister Chi to the ground. Then she chased after her and slapped Sister Chi across the face four times, leaving her seeing stars and completely stunned!

"Holy crap..." Aunt Chi was speechless.

"Wow!" Chi Tang was stunned.

Even Old Man Chi looked up in shock, rubbing his eyes as if he couldn't comprehend it...

Sister-in-law Chi grabbed Sister-in-law Chi's neck, applying slight pressure, her voice low and menacing: "You're a mother, and instead of complaining about this and that, why don't you hurry up and go find An'an?"

"No one is responsible for An'an's disappearance; if anyone is, it's you!"

"If I hear you mention 'Dad' or 'Tangtang' again, I'll hit you again!"

This was the first time Sister-in-law Chi had hit someone.

She herself was a little scared, and later her voice became unsteady.

But seeing her father-in-law so distressed, and hearing what Sister-in-law Chi said about Tangtang, she was so angry that she couldn't care about anything else.

Third Sister-in-law Chi was stunned by the beating; both her cheeks were swollen and red, her eyes trembling with fear. She nodded hesitantly, "I won't do it again, I won't do it again..."

Sister-in-law Chi released Sister-in-law Chi and tried to calm herself down: "You shouldn't go out to look for her in this state. Just stay home and wait. Father, let's go out and get the villagers to help us search..."

Chi Wuhu, looking anxious, walked over hesitantly.

He didn't want to eat for free.

"Xiao Wu, you're in charge of looking after your nephews at home. You need to keep a close eye on them; that's the most important task! Losing An'an is already chaotic enough."

"Know!"

Chi Wuhu, who was initially somewhat dissatisfied, immediately perked up upon hearing the words "most important" and pledged to complete the task.

Despite his grief, Old Man Chi immediately stood up and, together with his wife, went off to find help.

Soon, most of the villagers in Dahe Village went out to help search. Some even came to comfort and care for Aunt Chi and the children.
