"...We don't have anything else of value, but this has really helped us cool down a lot. Let's go and deliver it to the Princess and Kuo'er."
Aunt Chi and Uncle Chi were discussing sending gifts to the Meng family and the Princess's residence.
I've always been receiving favors from others, and now that I finally have something presentable, I naturally want to give it to them.
It was inappropriate not to deliver it in person, but the couple were somewhat intimidated by the capital.
"It should be sent, but..."
Old Man Chi glanced at his wife, feeling somewhat hesitant.
However, Old Man Chi quickly made a decision: "Let's make a trip tomorrow or the day after, and come back in one day."
Now that the eldest daughter-in-law is about to give birth, the eldest son definitely can't leave.
The second child is in school.
The third brother is still helping the fourth brother with his work.
Xiao Wu is in school.
Only they can go.
"Okay, just the two of us, don't bring Tangtang along," Aunt Chi said.
They had already reached an understanding on this point: they were unwilling to take Chi Tang to the capital.
Old Man Chi didn't object, but said, "You'd better talk to your daughter properly, otherwise I'm afraid she'll get angry."
"She's just a little kid, why would she go to the capital? We can just sneak away and not tell Tangtang."
"I want to go too!"
Chi Tang, who was taking a nap, suddenly jumped up and shouted, "I want to go to the capital too!"
"Hey, when did you wake up? Why did you sit up so suddenly? Are you dizzy?"
Aunt Chi picked up a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from her daughter's forehead, then said to the old man, "Go and get your daughter a bowl of water."
After my daughter wakes up from her afternoon nap, she always drinks some water first and then washes her face.
Otherwise, they'll go crazy.
"Mother, I want to go to the capital too!"
Chi Tang's eyes weren't fully open yet, and she kept hugging her mother and acting spoiled.
The soft, cuddly child, with hair loose behind their head and a few strands clinging to their chubby, bouncy face, looks up at you with a bewildered yet joyful expression.
It simply melted your heart!
“Bao’er, it’s not that your mother doesn’t want to take you, it’s just that Chenyi said before that he would let you go to the capital less often.”
Aunt Chi picked up her daughter and placed her on her lap. Then, she took the wet towel that Uncle Chi handed her and wiped her daughter's face before feeding her water.
Having gulped down her drink with relish, Chi Tang softly whined, "But I don't want to be separated from Mother. Does Mother want to be separated from Tangtang?"
"I……"
"Am I not my mother's most beloved child? Waaah..."
Looking at her daughter's fake crying, Aunt Chi didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Who taught this kid to do this?
Old Man Chi couldn't take it anymore. He stroked his daughter's soft hair and said to his wife, "Let's not go anywhere else, let's just take Tangtang with us."
Don't people always say that you should go out and see more of the world to broaden your horizons?
It's a good opportunity to broaden my daughter's horizons.
"What if..."
"How can there be so many 'what ifs'?"
"Mom! I promised my wife that I would treat her mother as my mother-in-law."
The father and daughter each spoke at once, and in the end, Aunt Chi couldn't resist and agreed.
Since they happened to be on holiday, the couple decided to bring their son, Xiao Wu, along.
After discussing it, they took four kinetic fans and a change of clothes for the family of four, and set off in the carriage.
The items were tied to the roof of the carriage. Old Man Chi drove the carriage outside, but Little Brother Wu insisted on sitting outside with him.
Aunt Chi forced the father and son to wear two straw hats to avoid getting sunburned.
"Wah wah wah".
Chi Tang lay on the carriage, looking outside and howling.
I'm finally back in Beijing!
Putting everything else aside, she can enjoy the scenery of the capital and the night market!
It must be very lively.
"Dad, look what's that?"
"Oh, that one, that's..."
While the father and son were chatting animatedly outside, Aunt Chi was suffering somewhat.
Because Aunt Chi actually gets a little carsick!
There was no other way but to slow the carriage down as much as possible and avoid the midday sun, waiting until the sun was less intense before setting off.
As a result, what should have been a two-hour journey took a full five hours!
By the time we arrived in the capital, it was nearly dusk.
After discussing it, Aunt Chi and her husband decided to go to the Princess's residence first.
Who knew that on the way, Brother Wu, with his sharp eyes, actually spotted Meng Kuo, who was out for a stroll!
"Guagua! Guagua!"
Little Fifth Brother stood on the carriage and greeted Meng Kuo frantically.
Meng Kuo quickly ran over.
"Uncle Chi, Fifth Brother? What brings you here?" Meng Kuo excitedly peered into the carriage. "Is Tangtang here too?"
Chi Tang crawled over and lifted the carriage curtain, her face beaming: "Guagua!"
"Tangtang, call him brother," Aunt Chi said to her daughter.
Chi Tang readily corrected herself: "Brother Guagua!"
"Why!"
Meng Kuo didn't stand on ceremony and picked up Chi Tang directly. He pinched Tang Tang's cheek with delight and exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, Tang Tang has grown up so fast! She's so big now!"
"Children always grow up quickly. Look at you, you've grown so much taller!"
"Guagua, look, this is a fan! It's so refreshing. My third brother made it and brought it to you specially."
Little Fifth Brother immediately showed off his new things to Guagua.
The clever Fifth Brother did not mention Chi Tang in front of outsiders.
"A fan? Oh, I have one, but the servants spin it for ages and there's hardly any breeze, it's not cool at all."
"This doesn't need to be turned by anyone, and it's very cool."
Little Fifth Brother is showing off.
Tangtang excitedly spit out her saliva: "It's so refreshing!"
