Chapter 2 Good Things Happen One After Another

Originally, Tang Qiqi, a top student in the College of Agriculture, was buried in her work in the laboratory.

Because I was so sleepy, I slipped out of the lab and went down to the campus to get some fresh air.

The small gate in the courtyard, which was usually kept tightly closed, suddenly opened. Although her mentor had repeatedly warned her not to enter the courtyard, curiosity killed the cat, and she inexplicably went through the gate.

Inside, there was a courtyard covered with lush vegetation, which seemed to have been neglected for a long time. A uniquely shaped ancient well came into view.

Tang Qiqi curiously looked into the well, but was sucked into it by a powerful force.

She was falling continuously in complete darkness, and suddenly found herself in an extremely narrow space.

Tang Qiqi felt like her head was being squeezed flat. After a lot of effort, she finally saw the light of day again, and the first thing she said was the cry of a baby.

She was still in shock when she discovered that she had turned into a baby, and then she was carried to a stinking latrine and almost died in a urinal.

Now, the dense array of eyes staring at her from above sent chills down her spine. She opened her mouth and shouted, "Get out of the way!" but all she heard was the babbling of a baby.

Tang Qiqi was on the verge of tears. She had endured so much to get into graduate school, and now that she was about to graduate, she felt like she was back to square one, a "toothless" person.

At first glance, this family is in dire straits. It looks like they'll either drown in the chamber pot or starve to death!

He possessed a wealth of agricultural knowledge, but his body was occupied by a baby who couldn't even speak. It was truly a case of a hero having no place to use his talents!

Tang Qiqi closed her eyes in despair, only to find herself back in that small courtyard.

She thought she was dreaming and hurriedly tried to run back to the lab, but before she knew it, she was already there.

She then thought of her dormitory, and in the blink of an eye, she was already there.

Tang Qiqi was shocked. Could it be that she actually possessed the ability to teleport? She curiously looked around the entire campus.

You can still go anywhere, but the once bustling campus is now deserted.

She was puzzled, but then she heard a vicious voice shout, "Zhaodi, Yindi, Jiedi, get out here and dig for wild vegetables, or you'll be starving!"

Tang Qiqi was startled by the voice, but when she came to her senses, she was still the baby in swaddling clothes.

She finally accepted the fact that she had traveled through time. Fortunately, the huge agricultural university had come with her, so it seemed she wouldn't starve to death.

Tang Qiqi glanced at the three slightly older girls and hurriedly got up and ran outside.

The mother, Xu Lanzhi, looked at the group of children in front of her with a worried expression. She was extremely anxious. The children had been kept, but how would they survive?

In recent years, the court has been in turmoil, wars have been constant, and locust plagues have struck. Last year, there was no harvest at all. With many children in the family and her own pregnancy, the family relies on her mother-in-law and husband, Dongsheng, to make ends meet.

Just when it seemed the family was about to run out of food, her husband, Tang Dongsheng, went far away to find work. He was gone for more than half a year, and his fate was unknown.

Now, only my mother-in-law and I are left at home to raise our six daughters. Although my three older sisters-in-law often help us out, food is more expensive than gold these days, and they are struggling to make ends meet.

Now that this baby has arrived, things are really getting harder!

Xu Lanzhi sighed helplessly. A two-year-old child beside her said pitifully, "Mommy, I'm hungry!"

"Mother, I'm hungry too..."

The two girls next to them also started shouting.

"My dears, Mother will go boil some water for you!" Xu Lanzhi said helplessly.

Hearing them shout like that, Tang Qiqi felt hungry too and couldn't help but cry.

Xu Lanzhi held Tang Qiqi in her arms and said with a pained expression, "My child, I'm so sorry, I don't have any breast milk at all!"

As she spoke, tears began to flow uncontrollably.

Wang happened to come into the room and saw Xu Lanzhi wiping away tears. She scolded her fiercely, "What are you wailing about? Get the child to drink this little bit of millet porridge. You're really useless!"

After saying that, she put a large bowl of thin porridge on the table next to her, took the baby from her arms, and asked the maid Tang Zhaodi to bring over the rice soup she had cooked. She then used a spoon to scoop some into Tang Qiqi's mouth.

Tang Qiqi was starving and hurriedly swallowed.

Wang Shi kept a straight face and muttered under her breath, "You debt collector, and you're a girl too! How can this old woman face anyone like this!"

Hearing her mother-in-law say this, Xu Lanzhi felt guilty and said timidly, "Mother-in-law, it's all my fault for not eating properly. You should take the children to drink this porridge. I'm not hungry!"

Wang glared at her and said, "Why don't you hurry up and get better? I'm here to serve you! Hurry up and drink! I've already taken the three of them out to eat!"

Upon hearing this, Xu Lanzhi dared not act rashly and quickly divided the millet porridge among the children.

Tang Qiqi realized that although her grandmother looked fierce, she didn't seem to be a bad person at heart, so she smiled ingratiatingly at her.

Looking at the delicate, beautiful little girl, Wang's heart softened. She said in a slightly gentler tone, "Little girl, what's the use of smiling at me? You'll still go hungry. You were born into the wrong family!"

Wang took her three older granddaughters out. Tang Qiqi drank some rice porridge and regained her energy. She quickly closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep. She had to find a way to get food for the family as soon as possible.

Grandma disliked her older sisters, so she let them show off their skills!

Wang took her three children to the fields and busied herself digging for wild vegetables.

Granddaughter Zhaodi suddenly exclaimed, "Grandma, come and see what this is!"

Wang went over, cursing, and found a glossy black pheasant lying motionless in the grass.

Wang was overjoyed and grabbed the chicken. Good heavens, there were more than twenty wild eggs under it.

Wang looked around and, seeing that no one was around, quickly grabbed a handful of wild grass, tied the pheasant's feet together, and threw it into her basket.

Then he carefully covered the eggs with his clothes.

Before she could finish what she was doing, her second granddaughter, Yindi, called out again, "Grandma, come here quickly!"

Wang was carefully holding the egg when she asked, grumbling, "What are you howling about!"

People still rushed over, and when they got there, they were surprised to find a field of golden wheat in the wilderness.

Wang rubbed her eyes hard. She came to this place every day, but she had never seen ears of wheat before!

But the wheat field swayed so boldly in front of her. Wang whispered a few words to her eldest granddaughter, instructing her to take her sisters to guard the wheat field. She then covered her basket with some weeds, gathered the eggs, and went home to get a sickle.

Wang went home, hid the eggs and chickens, grabbed a sickle, pushed a cart, and hurriedly went out.

Fortunately, it was lunchtime and there weren't many people on the road. When she arrived at the wheat field, she and her three granddaughters harvested the wheat. They waited until dark before slowly returning home with the children.

When they arrived at their doorstep, the third granddaughter, Jiedi, cried out again, "Grandma, there's a cow blocking our gate!"

With great effort, Wang pulled the cart forward and saw, sure enough, a large, robust dairy cow was standing right in front of her door.

Wang's heart skipped a beat. What was going on today? How could so many unbelievable things happen?
