Chapter 3, Chapter 3: Was it all seen through?! ...
For breakfast, Luo Qingyan made a simple sandwich, fried sausage, and hot milk.
The little male merman ate it and really liked it.
I ate the sandwich first. The first bite made my eyes widen. The surprise of tasting the new food was palpable. Then I ate several more bites.
"What's this called?" The little merman held up the sandwich. "It's soft on the outside, and crisp, sweet, and chewy on the inside. It smells delicious."

The little merman pursed his lips, looking like he didn't want to talk.

The little male merman looked at the sandwich in his hand, took a deep breath, and slightly raised his eyes: "We have our own way of communicating, we can learn human languages, and we are divided into different sea areas."

My cousin Tao Xingyou called.

Luo Qingyan felt a warmth in her heart. She smiled and then turned to leave, saying, "I'm going to find the thing blocking the door."

Actually, the blocking was just a supplementary measure. Luo Qingyan found a flathead screwdriver and locked the door from the outside, then hid all similar tools. Inside the door, two chairs and a stool were used to wed the door between it and the sink. "Chestnut is our family's darling, we can't neglect it!" Tao Xingyou patted Chestnut's head. "I'll go get its toys."
"I'll go get the toy, you take it out first," Luo Qingyan said, handing the chestnut to Tao Xingyou.
"Okay." Tao Xingyou picked up Chestnut, stroking it as she walked out.
Luo Qingyan stood there for a few seconds, making sure Tao Xingyou went to the yard and that there was no sound from the bathroom before she felt relieved enough to go get the toys.
The two people and their dog then played in the yard until lunchtime.
The restaurant was filled with the aroma of food during lunchtime, so Chestnut stayed there without any worries. The three of them even video-chatted with their grandmother and aunt, who were also having lunch, enjoying a peaceful and harmonious time together.

Although Tao Xingyou enjoyed having fun, she was also reasonable. She noticed Luo Qingyan's fatigue. It was indeed a spur-of-the-moment decision to go out, and there was no need to stay out too late. Besides, Li Zi was waiting at home, so she agreed.

She then returned home, running straight to the bathroom to grab a flathead screwdriver, ignoring Chestnut who was there to greet her.
"It's me! I'm back." Luo Qingyan spoke to the little merman through the door as she unlocked it. "There's no one else at home, don't worry."
As soon as he finished speaking, there was movement inside the door. The little male merman was using his tail to move the chair blocking the door.
Pushing open the door, Luo Qingyan saw the little male merman in the bathtub and breathed a long sigh of relief. Without even bothering to move a chair, she squeezed through the gap to approach the little merman: "Are you alright?"
The little merman shook his head: "It's nothing."
Luo Qingyan suddenly felt a wave of exhaustion. She pulled up a chair and sat down, her body sinking as she sighed.
The little merman rested his arm on the edge of the bathtub, looked up at Luo Qingyan, his blue-purple eyes were very clear: "Are you sick?"
Luo Qingyan's expression tightened, his breathing became erratic, and then he looked heartbroken.
