The commotion alerted the bartenders, who were already closed for the day. When they saw Song Mengmeng and her friends bringing the soaking wet woman into the hotel without any hesitation, the bartenders were so shocked that their knees buckled and they almost knelt on the ground.
"Could you please brew a pot of tea and bring some snacks?"
Song Mengmeng turned around with a smile and spoke to the bartender, her tone full of concern for the woman: "She looks to be in bad shape and may need a hot cup of tea to warm her up."
As they were talking, Hu Da brought down a few dry towels and a thin blanket from the second floor, hoping to make the woman feel better.
However, the woman seemed to be made of water; no matter how much Hu Da and the others wiped her, blood kept seeping from her body.
This definitely can't be human!
If it were a human, they would have already gone into shock from excessive blood loss in this state!
Song Mengmeng subconsciously looked at the swaddled baby in the woman's arms. She could smell a strong sea odor. She frowned slightly. Could this woman be a visitor from the sea?
"Thanks."
The woman took the teacup from Song Mengmeng and thanked her dryly, but she only held the hot tea without drinking it.
"How did you get here?!"
Song Mengmeng was a little curious; it was the first time she had ever seen such a strange creature.
It's neither human nor ghost, and it doesn't even look like a demon!
"I'm looking for the father of my child." The woman slightly raised her eyes, and her eyes lit up a little because of the topic Song Mengmeng brought up.
She tilted her head and thought for a moment before speaking, word by word, "But I don't remember where he went, and I can't find him!"
"Do you even remember what he looks like?!"
Hu Yue brought over a snack and placed it on the table in front of the woman, then followed up on Song Mengmeng's words by asking, "Perhaps we can help you look for it?!"
“I don’t remember either.” The woman shook her head and muttered softly, “I only remember that he is the father of my child! The child is born and cannot be without a father. I have to find him and bring him home.”
The woman's reaction was noticeably slow.
However, she was exceptionally persistent in this matter. Even though, in her words, she no longer remembered what her husband looked like and didn't know where he had gone, she still did not give up on finding the father of the child she spoke of.
"But you don't remember anything, how are we supposed to find it?!" Hu Yue frowned, it seemed that even if they wanted to help, they couldn't.
"It was right here that he told me to wait for him here!"
He said he would come to pick me and the baby up once he finished what he was doing.
So, as long as I keep waiting for him here, he'll definitely come back for me!
The woman lowered her head and thought seriously for a while before explaining to Hu Yue, "He also asked someone to take care of me, so he, he will definitely come back."
"Who did he ask to take care of you?!"
Hu Da asked a question that clearly indicated a woman who was somewhat slow to react. Perhaps it was because she rarely interacted with or communicated with people, and she always seemed to be a step slower than normal when it came to thinking about problems.
The woman tilted her head, seemingly considering it seriously for a while, before speaking: "It's by the sea, in the house there, where his friends are."
“No, it seems to be an old lady in town…” The woman quickly shook her head again, denying her previous statement, but she didn’t seem too satisfied with this explanation either. She gripped the porcelain cup in her hand with some difficulty, struggling to think of the answer to the question, but in the end, she could only look up at Hu Da with a dejected expression: “I, I don’t remember.”
"She is Hai Ling."
Just as Song Mengmeng and the others were staring at each other, trying to guess the identity and background of the woman in front of them, Yan Di spoke up. He glanced at the woman sitting at the table, who still looked confused, and quietly explained the situation to Song Mengmeng and the others.
"Those who perished at sea, their obsessions from life remained, and eventually transformed into sea spirits, a kind of existence in the world."
They followed the rain and mist to the shore, lingering in places familiar to their obsessions. If they encountered someone from the past with whom their obsessions were intertwined, they would yield to their obsessions' desires and bring their souls back to the sea.
That's why her memories are so confused.
Unless she can find the one here who can end her obsession, she will instantly remember those past events and bring those who hurt them back to the sea!
Therefore, this woman has no evil karma!
Although the King of Hell revealed her identity, the woman seemed not to have heard him at all, and continued to sit there blankly without responding.
Seeing that they couldn't get anything out of this woman, the group sat with her for a while before going back to their rooms to rest.
As for Hai Ling, the King of Hell said that there was no need to interfere with her; she would naturally leave once the rain stopped.
And as if to prove that the Emperor Yan's analysis was correct, sure enough, when Song Mengmeng came downstairs the next morning, the place where the woman had been sitting was empty.
Even the ground, which had been soaked by the woman's blood, remained completely dry. If it weren't for the porcelain cup that had been handed to Hai Ling yesterday still sitting on the table, one would have thought that everything yesterday was just a dream.
This minor incident did not affect Song Mengmeng and her friends' planned schedule.
On the morning of the third day, Prince Wilson finally rushed back to the town.
