His Majesty brought the little princess to court again today.
Not long after the court session began, the little princess fell asleep again. This time, without His Majesty needing to speak, all the ministers consciously lowered their voices.
After all, no one wants to wake up the sleeping little princess.
This little princess sleeps with her two tiny fists clenched tightly and her little lips pouting—she's incredibly adorable!
"Retreat from court"
After Sanhezi dismissed the court, the little princess woke up. As a result, Qin Jue gave Sanhezi a look (meaning that the princess looked at him as if she wanted to eat him up).
"Pinch...pinch" (Daddy)
"What's wrong, little dumpling?"
"oh……"
Are you hungry?
"...Silver" (Hmm)
Sanhezi had someone deliver goat's milk to the Imperial Study.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
After giving his instructions, Qin Jue then began to play with the little dumpling in his arms.
————
"Your Majesty, several ministers have arrived," Sanhezi said respectfully as he entered through the door.
"The court has just adjourned, what are they doing here?"
Qin Jue said to Sanhezi with a look of disgust that she was having a great time taking care of the little dumpling, and that the others had come to spoil the fun.
"Your humble servant greets Your Majesty and the little princess."
The minister who entered bowed to the monarch.
"Get up. What are you all doing in my study after court? Why aren't you going home?"
Zhao Feng told Qin Jue the news he had received.
"Your Majesty, when I and Liu, the Vice Minister of Revenue, left the palace together, I received a letter from the north."
The letter stated that several prefectures in the north were experiencing outbreaks of swine fever.
When Qin Jue heard that it was Zhao Feng who reported the outbreak of swine fever in the north, instead of Liu Shang, he immediately asked about it.
"Who reported the news of the swine fever outbreak to you? Can you, a mere Vice Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, solve the Ministry of Revenue's problems?"
"Your Majesty, the Prefect Zhu of Nanfeng City in the north is my brother-in-law, so he reported the news to me."
"A case of swine fever? Do you know why?"
"Your Majesty, it is not yet clear."
Qin Jue's handsome, sword-like eyebrows furrowed.
"Sanhezi, go and notify a few people from the Ministry of Revenue to come over."
"This servant will go immediately."
Sanhezi left the Imperial Study. Before going to the Ministry of Revenue, she sent Xiaju in to retrieve the bowl from which the little princess drank goat's milk.
————
"Now that everyone's here, let's talk about the Northern African Swine Fever."
Qin Jue looked at the people from the Ministry of Revenue who had come to visit.
"Minister Liu, you arrived the earliest. Do you have any ideas?"
Liu Shang, whose name was called, stood up and spoke his mind.
"Your Majesty, I believe that pigs infected with swine fever should be separated from those that are not infected."
Liu Shang paused for a moment, then continued.
"We should find more veterinarians to go to the areas in the north where swine fever is occurring to examine the pigs and prescribe medications."
A person from the Ministry of Revenue stepped forward to refute this.
"Where will we find so many veterinarians? Besides, we don't even know if swine fever is transmissible to humans."
"If it's contagious, wouldn't people get sick too if they went there?"
Qin Jue had obviously thought of this problem as well.
"Zhao Feng, the letter you received, does it say whether it's contagious or not?"
"Your Majesty, Prefect Zhu did not mention contagiousness in his letter, so it seems he is not contagious."
The official who had spoken first said again, "How do you know it's not contagious? Maybe he did get infected but didn't report it."
"Minister Wang, Prefect Zhu is my brother-in-law. Would he really hide this from me?"
"It's hard to say for sure about Zhao Shaoqing, and besides, Zhao Shaoqing isn't an official of the Ministry of Revenue, is he?"
"you……"
"Minister Bai, you speak."
The white-collar worker who was called upon stepped forward and answered.
"Your Majesty, I believe both of you have valid points. Whether or not swine fever can be transmitted to humans remains to be seen."
"It's possible that there were no infected people in the early stages, but that might change later."
"As for Minister Liu's suggestion to separate and isolate the two types of pigs, that's feasible. While sending a veterinarian, I think we should also send some other doctors, just in case."
Qin Jue found the white-collar worker's words somewhat reasonable, and after thinking about it for a while, he realized...
Just as Qin Jue was about to express her thoughts, she felt an itch on her face.
Looking down, I saw that the little bundle of joy in my arms was drawing on his face with a calligraphy brush.
Hmm... this painting is really ugly, it's all black ink blots, but what can I do? She's my child, so I can only let her paint it as she pleases.
But the little dumpling in his arms, seeing that he had been caught red-handed, remained completely calm and even giggled at Qin Jue.
The ministers below, seeing the black ink on His Majesty's face, thought to themselves that the Fourth Princess was probably doomed.
Everyone knows His Majesty is a tyrant; anyone who disobeys him is basically beheaded. Moreover, His Majesty has obsessive-compulsive disorder related to cleanliness.
Oh no, this little princess is doomed.
This little princess is really in trouble now; His Majesty must be furious.
Should we, as ministers, quickly divert His Majesty's attention? It would be such a pity if such a lovely little princess were to die.
Just as the ministers were lost in their own thoughts, they heard the tyrant's words, tinged with indulgence!
"Look how clumsy you are, making your hands so black and filthy!"
"How dare you touch my clothes with your dirty hands!"
Qin Jue took the calligraphy brush from the little dumpling's hand.
She took the little one's hand in her own, and used the hem of her clothes to wipe the little one's hands with her other hand, showing no signs of being angry.
The ministers on one side stood frozen in place as if they had seen a ghost, but dared not raise their heads.
After all, if one looked up and saw the black ink on His Majesty's face, one didn't know if they would even survive.
Everyone unanimously chose to lower their heads.
"What Minister Bai said is very true, but it is not perfect. Pigs of different sizes should be raised separately, and it would be best to separate boars and sows as well."
"Check which body type is most susceptible to the disease. Even if a pig is infected, kill it and burn it. It's not suitable for consumption. What if it's not contagious while alive, but becomes infected after it dies and is eaten by someone?"
