Extra Chapter: Jue Shi Rong Yan 40

Xiao Liyan felt great sympathy for the girl. She paused for a moment, then took out a silver ingot from her bosom and tossed it into the girl's hand as she walked past.

"Brother Qin, let's go."

Qin Jue glanced at Xiao Liyan, somewhat surprised, and followed, saying, "I thought you would take her away, but I didn't expect you to give her money."

He chuckled, almost as if mocking himself. "Ha, Brother Qin, I can't even save my own family, how can I take her away?"

Seeing Xiao Liyan's self-deprecating expression, Qin Jue pursed his lips, then bought a sugar figurine from a nearby stall and quickly caught up with Xiao Liyan.

Kids all love sweets.

He handed the sugar figurine to Xiao Liyan, who burst out laughing when she saw Qin Jue say those words with a straight face.

He then took the candy directly from Qin Jue's hand, took a bite, and said, "Then I'll just stay a kid for a little while longer."

"You've always been a child," Qin Jue said aloud.

The girl, who had been knocked to the ground, stared in disbelief at the silver coins beside her.

Then, seeing the man squat down to pick up the silver, I quickly grabbed it first.

"Hand over the money, or I'll make you regret it!"

The girl clutched the silver in her hand tightly, refusing to let go despite being hit. After only a few blows, drawing strength from who-knows-where, she bit the man's arm and then ran towards Xiao Liyan.

He ran up to Xiao Liyan and knelt down immediately, saying, "Miss, your money..."

Xiao Liyan, who was eating a candy figurine, was startled by the sudden appearance of the girl, but then understood what she meant after hearing what the girl said.

"Now that you have the money, redeem yourself."

As she spoke, Xiao Liyan lifted her foot to leave.

"Miss, here is your money."

"What's yours is yours now. Don't you want to buy your freedom?"

After saying that, Xiao Liyan and Qin Jue left without looking back.

The man who caught up cursed and wanted to kick the girl kneeling on the ground.

Give me the money.

Once Xiao Liyan had walked away, the girl stood up, then looked at the man expressionlessly, "You want this money?"

When a man doesn't speak, his meaning is self-evident.

"Okay, you can have it, but you have to give me my indenture."

"What are you saying? This silver is mine to begin with!"

The man became unwilling upon hearing this, and just as he reached out to snatch it, the girl ran to the beggar's side and stood there, then laughed, her dirty face giving off a somewhat eerie feeling.

"You bought my goods for two taels of silver, so this is ten taels. You've made a profit. If you don't want to, I'll give the silver to the beggar now, and I'll go back to your stall with you."

Upon hearing this, the man became unwilling. He then recalled the girl's recent erratic behavior; whenever someone came to buy someone, regardless of who they were, she would act like a madwoman. This led the potential employer to believe that everyone in his household was mentally ill, and they all turned and left.

The man glanced at the beggar. He knew he couldn't possibly keep the money once it was in the beggar's hands, and he'd also be unable to sell his goods because of this madwoman. The brothel, seeing her condition, might not even sell to him. Considering the possible consequences, the man readily agreed.

He then took out a contract of indenture from his pocket and gave it to the girl. The girl took the contract, threw the money on the ground, and ran away.

The beggar picked up the silver coins that had fallen to the ground, and by the time the man realized what had happened, the beggar had already disappeared.
