Extra Chapter: Jue Shi Rong Yan 8

A month after the incident with Ru Xian, Liu Wei had never been so thoroughly ignored by Qin.

After adopting Qin Jue, Liu Wei vented all her pent-up resentment and frustration from her past with Yu Ruxian onto Qin Jue.

That day, just as Liu Wei was having Qin Jue beaten and scolded, she saw Qin Jue standing at the palace gate, which frightened Liu Wei so much that she immediately knelt down.

Qin walked up to Liu Wei, bent down slightly, and helped her up from the ground, which terrified Liu Wei.

However, Qin said nothing and had lunch with Liu Wei.

After lunch, Liu Wei was in a rare good mood and didn't cause trouble for Qin Jue. Instead, she took a nap.

In her sleep, Liu Wei once again dreamt of the night Yu Ruxian was killed by Qin Qi.

After threatening Liu Wei, Qin took another sword from a guard and, without a word, stabbed Yu Ruxian's corpse.

Yu Ruxian's pink bellyband was soon stained red.

Then Qin drew his bloodstained sword and pointed it at Liu Wei, who was kneeling on the ground, saying, "I wonder if my beloved concubine would like this way of dying?"

"If you wish, I can grant your wish right now, my beloved consort."

As Qin spoke, he took a few steps toward Liu Wei, who was so frightened that she knelt down and retreated backward.

Liu Wei only stopped slashing when she felt another sword rest on her shoulder from behind.

"Your Majesty, I saw nothing and know nothing."

"I believe in my beloved concubine."

After saying that, Qin threw down his sword. Seeing the dead Yu Ruxian, Qin gave orders directly to the air.

Everyone present was killed.

As soon as she finished speaking, four men emerged from the shadows and killed all the palace maids and eunuchs, leaving only Qin Qi and Liu Wei in the entire courtyard.

"Watch your mouth, or else..."

Qin turned to look at Liu Wei, who crawled to his feet.

"Your Majesty, rest assured, I know nothing."

"Um"

After saying this, Qin left Fengyuan.

With Qin gone, the guards also left, leaving Liu Wei all alone. Even her personal maid, Liang Yuan, was dead.

In the dark of night, in the silent garden, corpses littered the ground, and blood stained the floor.

In an instant, Liu Wei woke up from her sleep.

"Your Majesty, what's wrong?"

"Xiao Li, light the calming incense."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

While Xiaoli was burning calming incense, Liu Wei also got out of bed and sat on a stool. Thinking back to noon, a guess formed in her mind.

On the other side, Qin Jue arrived at Xie Shui Pavilion.

Xie Shui Pavilion was the place where Qin Jue and Qin Zhong always agreed to meet.

"Brother...you..."

"No hindrance"

Qin Meng knew from Qin Jue's appearance that Qin Jue had been beaten again. Qin Meng wanted to say something, but Qin Jue stopped him with a raised hand.

Qin Jue and Qin Zhong sat side by side on the steps of Xie Shui Pavilion.

"Has Consort Lin treated you well?"

"Mother... Consort Lin has been very good to me, but Your Majesty..."

"Brother, let's switch back," Qin Zhu said, looking up at Qin Jue, his hand gripping Qin Jue's arm, tears welling in his eyes.

Qin Jue was taken aback by Qin Zhong's expression, then turned her head away, saying, "No need, it's fine as it is now."

"But, brother, Liu Wei wanted me in the first place."

“You should have been raised by Consort Lin, but I…”

Qin Jue interrupted him before he could finish speaking.

"Qin Zhong, if you were under Liu Wei's command, could you survive every single day?"

"Xiao Zhong, you're no match for Liu Wei. Consort Lin is a good person. Treat her like your mother and be filial to her in the future."

As for you and me, you don't need to say anything more.

After Qin Jue finished speaking, she stood up. "Xiao Zhong, don't come looking for me anymore, or Liu Wei will target you."

After speaking, Qin Jue descended the steps and left. Qin Zhong quickly stood up to chase after him, but found he couldn't catch up at all.

Behind Xie Shuiting

"Your Highness, the Fourth Prince is really good to the Fifth Prince."

Listening to Zi Fen's words, Lin Dan recalled how Qin Jue had come to him and negotiated terms before Yu Ruxian died.

"Yes, this child is very good."

"Your Highness, why did you make a deal with the Fourth Prince in the first place, especially since he is so young?"

Zi Fen asked Lin Dan, puzzled.

"Firstly, this child and Xiao Zhong have both been kind to me. Secondly, my only worry is my father and brothers, and since he took care of them, I have no other requests."

Zi Fen shut her mouth upon hearing this and said nothing more.

"Let's go, Zi Fen," Lin Dan thought of his father and brothers exiled to the north, then looked at Qin Jue who had left, and also took Zi Fen with him and left Xie Shui Pavilion.
